The Bears Suck
It’s a good thing I only have to do a one hour podcast every day, because I'm beat from my weekend. On Friday Janet and I went up to New Buffalo and Mike Dahl and his fiancée were there too. We went out to dinner Friday night and then came back home to watch the Blackhawks lose on TiVo. Janet can’t help herself and spoiled the ending for us by showing it to Mike on her iPhone. He tried to keep it from me, but to no avail. In the long run, I guess it saved me an hour or so of watching a losing effort, but I don’t understand why she always has to play the spoiler like that with sporting events. She won’t cop to it either, she just turns it around on you if you call her on it. It’s actually as close as she comes to being evil.
She claims she is doing me a favor by sparing me the tension, but I think not. We went out to dinner on Saturday night as well, but knowing too much ruined no sporting event. In fact we got home just in time to watch Feodor vs. Rogers on CBS and I have to say that even though the MMA fights all look like something that broke out in a gay bathhouse, I was thoroughly entertained. That Rogers really does need to learn to keep his guard up when he goes to throw a punch, however. The whole thing had a kind of ‘Rocky IV’ feel to it. It was very odd, but I liked it. I still think the boxing is the best part of MMA, and that they should lose the chain link fence. I also think it says something bad about our society when boxing has devolved to the street fight that the kids call MMA.
Where was Janet the spoiler on Sunday? She could have saved me from attending a disastrous Bears game. I mean that thing was a freaking nightmare. There’s no way Thayer makes me feel better about that on Monday’s DahlCast. I drove in from MI and met Pat Dahl there. We left during the third quarter. I NEVER leave Bears games early. There was a point in the car on the way home that we thought that the Bears might come back. We still felt we did the right thing by leaving. That sort of football incompetence cannot and should not be tolerated. I think it’s time for the pin sweeper to clear out the Jerry and the Lovie’s offices. I’ve had enough of their mediocrity. The Cardinals scored the first 7 times they had the ball, or something ridiculous like that. Tommie Harris still thought it was MMA, and he was a DQ. And by that I don’t mean to imply that he was a delicious frozen treat.

Poor Tom Thayer - he had a
Poor Tom Thayer - he had a double-whammy this weekend. As always, Saturday found me parked in front of the TV for the Notre Dame game. THAT was painful. Like watching your pet dog get vivisected. Might be time for snot-nosed fatty to go. Seriously, every game he's got snot runnning down his nose - or maybe it's gravy.
