James VanOsdol Show
James VanOsdol started his career back in 1993 at Chicago radio station WKQX (Q101), where he spent a total of 11 non-sequential years.
An obsessive music fan, VanOsdol became known for supporting local and independent music, primarily on the Q101 specialty show “Local 101.” Over his career, his voice was also heard on other Chicago stations like WXRT, WZZN, WLUP, and WTMX.
His first book, Off the Record Collection, a compilation of music-related blog entries he’s written since 2003, was released in 2011. His second book, We Appreciate Your Enthusiasm: the Oral History of Chicago’s Q101, is expected in late ’12-early ’13.
James reads a lot of books with and without pictures (which is to say, graphic novels and novels), listens to a ton of music, supports the Chicago White Sox, and enjoys movies and television shows that involve spacemen and monsters
