2:02 Steve is sitting next to Ed Silha who's configuring Buzz's computer for him. Steve has been with Buzz for 45 minutes now, he's never seen anyone who gets more stuff done for him.
2:03 Steve wanted to talk to Ed about his pinky-up style of typing. Ed has never noticed it and now that he knows about it he's not doing it.
2:04 Hold on Buzz is getting his headphones dialed in. He's just pointing at them because he hears nothing. It's like working with a quadriplegic.
2:05 Today was the last day in the 1:00-2:00 time slot for Matt and Brendan, it was sort of sad. Was Garry walking around today? Does he know his show doesn't start until Monday?
2:06 Today Drew and Garry were touring the station in sundresses. Everything looks different when you're wearing a Laura Ashley print. On Monday they might try tube tops.
2:07 Instead of touring the station they should be working on that promo that mentions Goober, Gomer and the Shortstop Inn. Do they know that Goober and Gomer are 60s references? It has the feel of someone who hasn't been on the air for 3 years.
2:08 Ed has modified his pinkies-up keyboard style slightly. It's up there but not all the way. Before he looked like the queen drinking tea.
2:09 Steve was told this morning that Tom Thayer wasn't going to be coming on today. You should see the look on Buzz's face, he's terrified. He wouldn't have come in if he knew that.
2:10 Tom has an infection in his leg and was in the hospital yesterday. Tom called Steve this morning and sounded really bummed out. It was worth it to see the look on Buzz's face though.
2:11 Buzz's store of football anecdotes is remarkably low. A lot of them involving taunting several '85 Bears. Dan Hampton tried to remove his head from his body and Steve McMichael is still looking for him.
2:12 Buzz can handle the '85 Bears stuff and whenever someone else comes by Steve will remind them how soaked he was at the Super Bowl. Someone owes him a dry cleaning.
2:16 Song: Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), David Bowie
2:20 That was for the Monsters of the Midway. They weren't so scary in South Florida last month though. Steve's clothing is still wet.
2:21 Ed and Adam are both taking pictures of Steve, they're like paparazzi.
2:22 There are already people milling about in the lobby but the convention doesn't start until 4:00. They're probably waiting to get player autographs but those guys don't come in that way. It's just fat dudes in Bears jerseys, why would they want to see that?
2:23 Tom called Steve this morning and he was very upset that he was letting him down. He's sick though, there's nothing he can do about it. Tom had a raging infection but he didn't notice it because he was probably too busy playing volleyball and going to BBQs. Steve's seen Maui Fever, he knows what goes on over there.
2:24 Tom, like Anna Nicole Smith, didn't realize he had an infection until he got off the plane from Hawaii. Unlike Anna Nicole, he went to the hospital right away though.
2:25 Buzz is devastated that Tom isn't coming in but this isn't the time for him to go into his shell. Steve doesn't need to be sitting here for 5 hours talking football with Ed Silha.
2:26 Tom will be at the convention tomorrow and Sunday but he didn't sound good today and he was bummed out. He likes being on the show and we like having him on the show.
2:27 Steve can handle it though he'll be fine. He doesn't like Buzz's body language though, he's curled up in a ball right now.
2:28 Other people will be stopping by today like Billy Jack from Comcast. There aren't a ton of players coming to the convention this year and most of them aren't coming today. Buzz is hoping that maybe a baseball player will stop by instead.
2:29 We don't really need to talk to jocks because they don't say anything and when they do they're very careful about what they say.
2:30 Buzz has already had an exciting day by his standards. The My Chauffeur limo was supposed to pick Buzz up today but he couldn't see it out of his kitchen window.
2:31 Then Buzz set off a chain of phone calls that went all the way around the world. He called WCKG reception because he didn't have Mary's number. Regina at reception called Jim kid who called Mary who called the limo company.
2:32 Then Ted from My Chauffeur freaked out because last week there was a mix-up with the Korean BBQ pick-up. As it turns out, the limo was out there the whole time.
2:33 Buzz is like a groundhog...if he doesn't see the limo from his kitchen he goes back in for 6 weeks. The limo wasn't technically in front of his house and he couldn't see a lot from his kitchen window. Why didn't he got go downstairs and look?
2:34 Every time the show is on a remote Steve sees the photo on Buzz's screensaver of the guy doing blow. He needs to get rid of that because it's jarring to see next to the pictures of Piper and Aimee.
2:35 When the limo arrived at the station Buzz called up here wondering where Steve was. Buzz probably waited down there for 30 seconds before calling up. He actually told the limo driver to call ahead and make sure Steve knew he was en route. He's such a diva.
2:36 When Steve got in the limo Buzz was ordering drugs. It has been so long since he was in a limo and these were all legal drugs. Still though, it was exciting to see him score during a 5 block limo ride.
2:37 Buzz was ordering up some sleeping pills and got some recommendations from Steve. The only reason he uses them is to get to sleep after a gig. For instance tomorrow after the House of Blues show, he'll get home around 2:30 and be completely jacked up.
2:38 If Buzz doesn't take anything he'll be up until 6:00 AM. Sometimes he does Nyquil even though he's not sick but he feels really bad the next day.
2:39 Steve recommended Ambien. The only bad thing is it sort of makes you forget stuff. If Steve watches a TV show on TiVo he'll forget the last 15 minutes or so.
2:40 Sometimes Steve will send out a crazy email on Ambien late at night and then the next day he'll be asked if he definitely wants to fire everyone.
2:41 Steve is broadcasting from a VIP section so they're in some big empty balcony area. Then around 5:00 they'll bring out lamb chops and Drew and Dan will show up and start eating them without a care in the world.
2:42 Steve doesn't know where Drew and Dan are right now. Drew is probably tuckered out from his sundress tour of the station. Dan is probably sitting on the couch in Drew's office with his arm's stretched out.
2:43 There's probably some sort of countdown clock in Drew's office to when the lamb chops will be brought out. There's a countdown clock at Steve's house for Pat's wedding. It's sort of scary to see it spelled out like that.
2:44 The lamb chops were really good and they're French cut so you can eat them with your hands. Last year Buzz was double-dipping into the mint sauce which Steve didn't think was right.
2:45 Matt Dahl of the Matt Dahl Show featuring Brendan Greeley is here. Steve only says that it features Brendan because he works for him. Matt shouldn't say it or else Brendan will get a big head and demand more money.
2:46 All of Steve's trouble with Garry started when the show became "with Garry Meier." Steve would like to teach a class a Columbia College about the use of the word with in radio.
2:47 Buzz thinks that Matt's new night shift is at the perfect time. He was tell Steve that if it wasn't for the money he would only do nights.
2:48 A night show means Matt and Brendan can line up chicks for after the show. Or they can just roll into a bar. They only have a 2 hour show also. Steve can't even talk after doing a 5 hour show.
2:49 Steve got into the limo last night and it was one of those long ones so he was 20 feet from the driver. Steve has nothing left to say after a 5 hour show but the limo driver was quite rejuvenating.
2:50 No one was home when Steve got there so he talked to the recyclables as he took them to the curb. Then he talked to the dogs.
2:51 Matt will be all keyed up because 2 hours is an unnatural time to stop. Even Brendan will come off as being witty and urbane.
2:52 Matt doesn't do an impersonation for Brendan, he just talks as low as he can. Brendan does an impersonation of himself which is Matt's favorite part of having him on the show.
2:53 Steve has pretty much gone through all of his football anecdotes. He's not really even bitter about the loss any more. One thing Steve learned after the Sox World Series win is that it isn't everything. Steve was adrift for 2 months after that.
2:54 The Sox victory just made Cubs fans even more bitter and angry and if you're a Sox fan you don't even care about them any more.
2:55 The Bears loss did mean really cheap Bears t-shirts in the parking lot after the game. Steve and the Dahl boys didn't go to the Bears post-game party because they thought it wouldn't be that fun.
2:56 Mark Zarang was at the party and there was a ton of food. There were Bears players there as well although Steve thinks they should have been in their hotel rooms sulking. Buzz was hoping to hear about some sloppy drunks at the party.
3:00 Steve was just talking to Scott Haegel about his press pass for next year. He didn't outright ask for it, he's just laying the groundwork.
3:01 The room that Steve and Buzz are in features a wall of TV screens all showing a very weird video of a guy in a pump room turning a giant valve. Buzz thought they would be monitoring CNN on those screens.
3:02 Steve would rather see the video about how to escape from your hotel room if there's a fire.
3:03 Steve and Buzz aren't at their stations right now because there are computer things happening. Steve doesn't really need to be online but they have to keep buying internet service from the hotel by the hour.
3:04 As a showman, Steve would like to get Buzz back into position. It seems like they should have a daily internet rate, or better yet Steve should just get it for free. Drew will take care of all of this when he arrives at 5:00.
3:05 Mike Dahl has just arrived with his friend from Comcast. They're both dressed like they're going to install cable.
3:06 Steve left off talking about the Super Bowl and leaving the game. It took 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot but the boys didn't care because they were bone dry.
3:07 Then Pat started heckling people in other cars, not caring that they'd probably be right next to them for the next 45 minutes. This was the same guy who was heckling Peyton Manning during the National Anthem.
3:08 Although they didn't go to the Bears post-game party they did get down on some Taco Bell. That place is amazing. They must have ordered a hundred things and it was still under $20.
3:09 Buzz could have sworn that Taco Bell and Burger King were tied together. He's positive there's a Burger King/Taco Bell at Clark and North. Steve thought it was Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.
3:10 Is there a microphone for Mike Dahl to join us as well? The other brothers are very jealous that Matt got his own show so there's a lot of infighting.
3:11 Matt has had his brothers on the show before, usually when Brendan is out of town. The last time he was on they had been out all night with strippers.
3:12 During the show Pat went Seeds on Matt and totally checked out on the show. It was Pat's idea to have a pre-bachelor party party but he wanted nothing to do with the strippers. Instead Matt had to be humiliated. The welts from wear the stripper whipped him with his own belt are just healing.
3:13 Caller Terry has some info for Buzz. There's a Taco Fresco/Burger King restaurant at the intersection Buzz is talking about. What's Taco Fresco?
3:17 If you're just joining the show Tom Thayer will not be on today, he has a raging infection in his leg. He will be here tomorrow and Sunday though.
3:18 Steve and Buzz are fully capable of talking football or even playing football for 5 hours.
3:19 Joining Steve and Buzz now is Don Cochrane from U.S. Cellular. In addition to sponsoring the White Sox they're also going to start sponsoring the Bears.
3:20 U.S. Cellular are Hall of Fame-level sponsors and they're the official wireless carriers of the Bears.
3:21 Steve and Buzz are available to do U.S. Cellular TV commercials or personal appearances.
3:22 Steve has a crazy idea for Don. When he goes to Sox games his cellphone doesn't work, but he doesn't have U.S. Cellular. Their service works really well there but they should advertise that.
3:28 Steve was just lining some stuff up with the U.S. Cellular stuff. He doesn't want a free phone but when he walks into one of their stores he'd like the people to applaud.
3:29 Currently Buzz is eating a giant pastrami sandwich from the Eleven City Diner. It was the highlight of the day until he saw Jeff Joniak. Jeff's talking to the press pass guy right now, he better be getting one for Steve.
3:30 Peggy Kusinski is in the house. Steve loves the press conferences with Lovie when Peggy is there because of how he says her name.
3:31 Peggy was at the game but she was covering it. Most of the people she knew who were there left after Prince. Steve missed that because he was going to the bathroom. He was so soaked by the rain that he could have just gone in his seat and no one would have noticed.
3:32 Steve's not too mad about the Super Bowl loss. Peggy's still a little mad because everything that came after has been all about the business end of football.
3:33 Chicago sports fans aren't used to losing a championship. It seemed like it was a done deal.
3:34 Steve's still getting over the Sox winning the World Series. He knew that they wouldn't repeat either because it's tough to do. Now he wants them to get back to winning. The Bears haven't won though so Steve would like to see that happen. Of course the odds are against the Bears returning to the Super Bowl.
3:35 Peggy thinks the Bears have a tough road ahead of them next year. You've got one guy in jail and another guy who wants a trade. Hopefully Lovie can get through it
3:36 Peggy really likes Lovie so she's hoping he'll be able to get through it. There's no one better to have a press conference with.
3:37 Steve feels that Jeff Joniak's daughter is going to go right over the balcony railing that she's playing around on. Jeff's not even paying attention but his wife's not going to appreciate it if he comes home with a daughter in traction.
3:38 Miami did a really bad job of hosting the Super Bowl. There were all sorts of roads closed and everything else was really hard to get to.
3:39 Steve did have a good time but it occurred to him that if you're going to go to the Super Bowl, you're better off if your team isn't in it. Everyone else at the Super Bowl is only there for the free stuff and the halftime show.
3:40 Peggy finally bought season tickets 3 years ago but now that the Sox have become so popular she keeps getting pushed back.
3:41 Peggy doesn't even want to know where Steve's seats are. She's seen the Scout Section. The press always take ice cream from their cooler when no one is looking. Now Steve knows why they always run out!
3:42 Peggy knows a couple 4-year olds who have only seen a Sox game from the upper deck. Steve only has 2 tickets otherwise he'd hook her up. Unless she thinks they can get to the game themselves. Can they park and work the buffet line on their own?
3:43 The Sox have a new section where the press box used to be. Steve was thinking of upgrading but the tickets are a lot more and it's indoors. For a baseball game you really need to be outside.
3:47 Buzz should just bring his sandwich over to the table instead of walking over during every break. Billy Jack from Comcast won't mind.
3:48 Buzz just saw the first Billy Jack movie on TV the other night. Billy should get one of those Billy Jack hats for the post-game. Then Zoom would think it's really sweet.
3:49 All of the Bears players really like Billy Jack so you want to tune into Comcast after the game. Billy Jack is stationed in the bowels of the stadium talking to players as they leave the locker room.
3:50 Then a fashion show breaks out, judged by Zoom. They've been doing the best dressed awards for a few years but Zoom really perfected it this year. All the players are really into it too because they know what they're wearing and how to describe it.
3:51 Moose once said that he had a tangerine-cream suit on and Chris Harris said he was wearing a cognac-colored hat.
3:52 Brendan Ayanbadejo is one of the few repeat winners. Bernard Berrian also won a few times but then we started getting a little out there and looked like one of the guys from Earth, Wind and Fire.
3:53 Because the players like being involved in this best dressed thing and they like talking to Billy Jack you get to see a different side of the players.
3:57 Steve has a promo for Zoom's best dressed that Mike Dahl did for Comcast.
3:58 Steve was the one who suggested to Mike that they do a promo for it.
3:59 Devin Hester is stopping by to talk to Billy Jack and Steve. Billy Jack needs to stay because Steve doesn't know anything about this stuff. He did go to every game though.
4:00 This must be a dream come true for Buzz since Devin is a U of MIami alum. When Devin returned that opening kickoff he thought the upper deck was going to come down.
4:01 Did Devin take any drama classes at The U because he faked out the Giants in that one game and returned a missed field goal.
4:02 Devin did something similar in college but it was on a kickoff return. Buzz has never seen that much coverage for a single play in all the years he's watched football.
4:03 Devin is working with Coach Davis on some ways to get around teams kicking away from him next year.
4:04 It seems like once the Colts figured out not to kick to Devin it sort of messed things up for the Bears.
4:05 It was the most exciting play Steve has ever seen in all his years watching football.
4:06 Steve plays the radio call of the play for Devin, he's never heard it.
4:12 Steve and Buzz don't have any street cred with a Devin Hester so it was good to have Billy Jack here as well.
4:13 Buzz did get a little cred for being a graduate of The U. Maybe they should get a secret handshake?
4:14 Devin seems like a good kid. He's very humble, especially considering the rookie year he had.
4:15 It seems like no matter where the other team kicks the ball Devin can get there and run it back, that's how fast he is.
4:16 The Bears gave fans a great ride last year and they're going to win it next year.
4:17 Now the ride continues with Tank Johnson in jail and Lance Briggs wanting a trade.
4:18 It seems like Briggs should have just kept it all quiet. If the public doesn't know what you want or what the team is willing to give then everyone can walk out of the negotiating room thinking they've won.
4:19 Joining Steve now is Jeff Joniak. That was on the second time he's heard the call of the Devin Hester return. Yeah right. Like he's not listening to it in the car every day.
4:20 Jeff thinks Billy Jack is the best dressed guy in Chicago. Billy Jack says the same about Jeff. Steve loves when the broadcasters do this. They're like Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin.
4:21 Steve feels bad for Tank Johnson because everyone is forgetting he's in jail with all the attention on Lance Briggs.
4:22 It's all about Drew Rosenhaus. He doesn't get paid for a franchised player because it's a non-negotiated contract. He probably doesn't care about that though.
4:23 If Steve were Jerry Angelo he wouldn't bend to Rosenhaus' will. He has to live in this town!
4:24 Jeff was listening to sports radio on the way in Briggs is definitely losing a lot of favor with people in this town.
4:25 Steve doesn't want anyone on the Bears who's willing to sit out for a year to make a point. And he's talking about taking out a loan to make his house payments?
4:26 Is that the kind of mentality you want as a football player? You're playing a game where guys are trying to paralyze you. If your mind is on house payments you're going to get hurt.
4:27 The Bears will consider the trade with the Redskins but it probably won't happen. It seems like there aren't that many teams interested in a deal and even the Redskins are trying to get out of it.
4:28 The Redskins are the kind of team the Bears could fleece in a deal, they only seem concerned with the here-and-now. They're like a guy at a strip club with a bunch of 20s. He doesn't know what's going to happen at the end of the night and he doesn't care.
4:29 The Bears have spent money on their players. They have given money to guys they feel are the core of the team.
4:30 It's just not possible for the Bears to pay Lance Briggs Brian Urlacher money while Brian is still on the team. Plus they have Tommie Harris to worry about and Charles Tillman or Nathan Vasher and Rex Grossman.
4:31 The Bears have a plan in all of this though, we just don't know what it is. You have to have a back-up plan, just like Steve and Buzz did when Tom couldn't come on.
4:32 Steve knew he was getting bad news when Tom called him this morning. Steve got the call around 8:30 or 9:00.
4:33 Jeff's call came in at 7:45 and he missed it. Tom does not like when Jeff misses his call and it was compounded by the leg infection.
4:38 Drew has arrived and he seems to be wrecking Steve's press pass. Drew is the worst negotiator of all-time.
4:39 Jeff took a few days off at the beginning of the week and on Tuesday he was talking to Josh Liss, WBBM's morning sports guy. All of the sudden he heard Drew introducing Josh to Garry.
4:40 Jeff has to go because he's on the air at 4:45. That was a nice hunk of time with Billy Jack and Jeff.
4:41 Unfortunately Drew, coming off his 200th Garry Meier tour, is ruining Steve's press pass. The latest tour involved Drew and Garry pulling up a sample of carpeting and then going to the Mohawk website to figure out what kind it is. As it turns out Garry loves the fiber count on the carpet and it's the kind of padding he likes too.

4:43 Steve and Buzz took a limo from the Prudential to the Hyatt today.
4:44 Joining Steve and Buzz is Chris Harris. How's the convention treating him so far? Is it convening?
4:45 Since the Super Bowl end Chris has been crying. Not really. He got a little vacation in Mexico. Next week he's going to Iraq but that's not a vacation, he's visiting the troops.
4:46 Chris is still trying to put the loss out of his mind. Pretty soon the season fires up again and it's all new again.
4:47 The Bears had a great season but there's still a negative vibe. They finished second but to Chris that's first loser. That's the kind of attitude Steve wants from a Chris Harris.
4:48 Chris is heading to Kuwait first before he goes to Iraq. He's not sure where he's going in Iraq though.
4:49 It's very commendable that Chris is doing this considering how dangerous Iraq is. It's gotta be more dangerous than being on a football field. At least on the field no one is shooting at you.
4:52 Steve and Buzz did a pretty good job of getting through the first few hours and now they're rolling. They don't even need Tom Thayer, he's holding them back!
4:53 Not really, Steve is worried he's going to run out of stuff to say every time he talks to one of these guys.
4:54 Steve likes hearing the players who are mad about not winning, especially when he's paying for tickets.
4:55 Buzz noticed that the lamb chops have shown up and Drew has already had one. Steve and Buzz have been on their own for almost three hours and Drew shows up just as their bringing out the chafing dishes. It's like he can hear them clanking from the Prudential Building.
4:56 Steve's going to wing it with the rest of the My Chauffeur live read. After Buzz was picked up from stately Kilman Manor he was driven downtown. As soon as he got to the building he called to tell Steve he was there because he didn't want to wait.
4:57 As soon as Steve got in the car Buzz was ordering drugs. It was just like the old days only he was talking to a doctor and it was totally legal.
4:58 Steve and Buzz will be driven home tonight but in separate cars since they're in different directions. Buzz has been downgraded to a town car so he'll have to make small talk with the driver.
4:59 Buzz did enjoy the nostalgia of being in the limo with Steve. Had they driven further than 5 blocks bad stuff would have started happening.
5:00 Steve needs to talk to the My Chauffeur guy about tipping the drivers. He feels like a load for not tipping but he's setting up an account and once he has one of those he'll add the tip that way. He wants to make sure all the drivers get a tip for the times they've already driven him.
5:01 Steve really likes being by himself in the back of a long limo in the dark, he doesn't want to deal with tipping the guy with cash.
5:05 Steve was in line to get a lamb chop and almost didn't get back in time because some guy was hogging the tray and talking on his cellphone.
5:06 Drew really put a dent into the lamb chops but the good news is that Falato isn't here.
5:07 Live read: Townstone Financial
5:08 Buzz is going to do a headline/news hybrid while Steve eats his lamb chops. Or he can wait.
5:09 Buzz does not have the story on the Universal City brush fire.
5:10 Buzz can't believe that female hostage in Iran has written three letters for her captors already. By the end of the week she'll have a job there.
5:14 Pat Dahl says that the fire in Universal City is in danger of burning down the Hollywood sign. That's why Steve brought it up in the first place.
5:15 It would be kind of cool to see the sign go up in flames, like the last days of Pompeii.
5:16 George Clooney is reluctantly backing Barack Obama for president. He doesn't want his celebrity becoming a bigger story than the campaign. He's still bringing it up though. Who cares what George Clooney thinks?
5:17 Smoking may be banned in all bars, restaurants and public buildings in Illinois. A bill was approved in the state Senate and sent to the House.
5:19 A new development in the case of the man who killed, dismembered and burned his girlfriend's body on two barbeque grills.
5:20 Police have found pieces of charred bones in the man's apartment as well as bleach bottles and a grilling book. What about barbeque sauce?
5:26 Jeff Joniak is back and he just came back with some fries and what looks like a mini-quiche. It's actually a mini-pizza. It's Lent so Jeff can't have meat.
5:27 Buzz thought they dropped the no-meat on Fridays thing. Buzz forgot it was lent, he was talking about no meat on any Friday.
5:28 Steve only knows it's Lent because he loves the pepper and egg sandwiches at Ricobene's. He's not sure if you can get them year-round but they put the sign up during Lent.
5:29 Jeff has talked to Chris Harris and Devin Hester already. So what? Steve and Buzz have talked to them too.
5:30 Jeff also talked to Ruben Brown and Roberto Garza. Buzz is wondering where Kyle Orton is. He made a few disparaging remarks about the grey in Buzz's beard.
5:31 Steve gets the feeling that the PR guy from the Bears doesn't like him. Jeff is giving Steve a look like he doesn't want him messing up his thing. Jeff doesn't want to be doing Rush games.
5:32 Tom Dore does Rush games and he's despondent about it. If Jeff only played for the '85 Bears we wouldn't need Tom.
5:33 Steve still needs Tom, he's an entertainer. Jeff couldn't believe that Tom considers Steve his mentor. What other broadcast careers has Steve spawned?
5:34 Steve only cares about Tom's career and Matt's of course.
5:35 Jeff's moderating a panel tomorrow with Lovie Smith. There are a few other player seminars he's doing as well. It's for the fans and they're going to have a lot of questions.
5:36 One of the places we need a Tom Thayer is to get a player like Olin Kreutz over. You don't want to mess with him otherwise, he likes to keep to himself.
5:37 Jeff has to do another report in a few minutes. Steve better not see Olin Kreutz on his show.
5:38 Being on the mic isn't really something Olin enjoys doing. It's probably better he doesn't come on because Buzz will make a disparaging remark about Hawaii or mention the gun range incident and Olin will break his jaw. Then Steve will have to take him to the hospital.
5:44 If you're keeping score at home Steve and Buzz were just blown off by Olin Kreutz, Roberto Garza and Jeff Joniak. He's not even broadcasting right now, he's probably looking for porn online.
5:45 Ted from My Chauffeur is here. What is the station charging for the ads because Steve doesn't think Ted is getting his money's worth.
5:46 The ads have been great for the company so far. Ted has also been tipping all of the drivers Steve has had. He's tipping big right? Because Steve tips 2%. A lot of people only give 1% but Steve does 2.
5:47 Ted was telling Buzz that next time they're going to send a bus to pick him up so he can see it. Buzz only looks out the kitchen window so if he can't see the car it's not there.
5:48 My Chauffeur has nice cars and they're a lot cheaper than the other service Steve uses. They work in volume which is why it's cheaper.
5:49 If Steve is interested he can also buy a limo and keep it i the fleet. Buzz thinks that's the closest he'll come to fractional ownership in a jet.
5:50 Steve could have stayed in his limo all night last night. Steve would like to look into buying a limo. Then he could say he owns a limo even if he doesn't drive in it all the time.
5:51 Live read: The Little Guys
5:52 Steve wanted to talk to Mike Dahl about that Jerry Azumah promo but he won't come over.
5:53 Mike's Tom Doring Steve right now. When Steve looks over and tries to pull his sons over that means he has nothing so Mike shouldn't worry about coming over.
5:54 Why is Mike playing the victim now. Is he in the Wendy Snyder chair? Is Mike mad that Steve tried to take credit for the promo earlier?
5:55 Steve's hearing a crazy sound from somewhere. They're playing season highlights on the big TV. Up until recently it was just a video of a guy in a pump room turning a valve.
5:56 What's Mike doing here anyway? Is he selling and installing cable? Mike is here to promote Comcast, they've got a booth downstairs with the exhibitors.
5:57 The lovely ladies of Comcast will not be at the convention, they usually do the Cubs and Sox conventions though.
5:58 Buzz is wondering if Billy Jack played football because he's very built. He looks like Mike SIngletary only without the crazy eyes and the speech impediment.
5:59 When Steve came in today he heard Sweet Home Alabama playing and a bunch of people cheering. When he came back down to go to the limo he looked into the plaza and Jack FM was set up out there and people were dancing and being filmed.
6:00 Is that for a commercial? Because the only thing that could be more annoying than that is the Jack FM disco commercial.
6:01 Jill from promotions knows what they were doing. It's for a commercial and the videos will be posted on YouTube and people will vote for the best one. Why do they need commercials, they're just a station that plays stupid songs all day.
6:02 Does WCKG have any commercials in the works? Maybe one with Drew and Garry going into the stall of a men's room, one of them stepping into a big shopping bag.
6:03 Where's Drew at? He's not even paying attention to Steve, he's always looking past him to see if there's someone bigger to talk to. In Steve's case there is no one bigger.
6:09 Steve and Buzz are joined by former Bear Matt Dahl. He and Brendan start their new time slot on Monday at 7:00.
6:10 Matt also just found out that he'll be on Glenn Beck's show after he's done. That's also on CNN Headline news.
6:11 Matt's a little bummed that his first show falls on opening day. Welcome to the real world. This is why Mike Dahl's always complaining that he hasn't had a vacation in three works.
6:12 One thing Matt will soon learn about the real world is that it's really inconvenient.
6:13 Matt is still waiting for Buzz to come in for one of the Saturday shows. It's never going to happen. The closest he came was talking to Matt about being able to plug his iPod into the board.
6:18 Steve's going to be talking to Lovie Smith shortly so Buzz should be alert. It seems like he's drifting a little bit. He already put his computer away even though there's still 40 minutes left.
6:19 Steve was hoping to see his buddy Shu at the convention but he might be in Japan. Shu goes back and forth to Japan like Steve does to the Western Suburbs.
6:20 Larry Wert is here already pointing out the obvious fact that Matt Dahl works for less than Steve and is pretty talented. Steve's tried to sign Matt but he won't do it. Maybe the 6 day work-week will be a lesson to him.
6:21 Steve and Buzz will have to work hard to keep Matt down. They'll start by bad-mouthing his show.
6:22 Rashied Davis just walked by but it seems like all the players are in party mode right now. Steve can't blame them either. Why would they want to sit down at a table that says Free FM?
6:23 Most of the players have nothing to say which is where Tom Thayer comes in handy.
6:24 Buzz just noticed a very tall black guy who looks like a basketball player. Now Buzz has gone into Chet Coppock mode and is just blurting out whatever comes to mind.
6:25 Lovie Smith is coming over now and he's got quite an entourage with him. He's with Scott Haegel who is the guy who Steve needs to get his press pass from.
6:26 Steve was at the Super Bowl, as was Lovie. Lovie can't remember a time when it's rained for an entire game. Next year the Super Bowl is in Arizona so they'll be dry if it rains. The Bears know how to win in Arizona too.
6:27 Steve had to ask Lovie to bring the mic up to his mouth a bit but he didn't want to. Lovie couldn't have been less interested in talking to Steve and Buzz, he could tell they never played football.
6:28 Steve is waiting for Moose right now but he's being interviewed by Comcast. Can't Mike go over and cut that off, Steve had him first.
6:29 Joining Steve know is Muhsin Muhammad. How would he describe his color of shirt today or does he only do that for Zoom?
6:30 Moose is wearing a sweet watch too. It looks like it weighs about ten pounds.
6:31 Moose had a lot a fun playing football last year. It was a fun season to watch and the Bears keep getting better every year. The only thing left is to win the Super Bowl.
6:32 When Moose first came to town Buzz thought he was two different people, Moose and Muhammad.
6:33 Moose also has a new website, Moose87.com. His buddy put it together and it has a sweet intro on the top.
6:41 Steve managed to snag Jeff Joniak again. That Moose interview was pretty good though. He did mention that he feels the broadcasting is sub par and he'll be talking to the McCaskey's about that.
6:42 Jeff thinks Moose has a future in broadcasting. He's very ambitious.
6:43 Buzz just saw Otis Wilson. He has a great Otis Wilson story but it'll have to wait until Monday. Does he have any stories about Bear players that won't get them punched in the face?
6:44 Steve just met Jeff's lovely wife. She requested the meeting actually. She didn't meet Buzz because he's very aloof.
6:45 Jeff thinks Little Z (Mark Zarang's brother) is going to open a great sports bar one day because there's not a day that goes by where he doesn't get a player autograph.
6:46 Every year Steve gets a Christmas card from Little Z featuring him and some team's cheerleaders. The only ones who have turned him down are the Chargers cheerleaders.
6:47 Why did they turn him down? Did he come on a little too strong? Was that the day he was wearing the flesh-colored body suit?
6:49 Matt starts his show on Monday at 7:00. Steve's proud but he's doing the math and Matt has the same name, works cheaper and is pretty talented.
6:50 Buzz would jump ship in no time either, Matt will still need the news. Plus Matt's younger, he'll be around longer.
6:51 Steve's Thought of the Day was about typos but there were typos in it and not on purpose. Buzz really enjoyed it though, it was out there.
6:52 Jeff's daughter looks very bored. Her and Buzz have the same body language. They can't wait to get out of there.
6:57 Buzz was just sitting there with his arms folded, headphones off, asking if it was over yet. It'll be over when Steve gets up and leaves.
6:58 Buzz thought he saw Tom Waddle and wanted to bring him over but it was a security guard.
