2:01 Stan didn't know if Steve was here yet so he said "hey Steve". So that was only highlighting the fact that Steve wasn't here?
2:02 Steve was close to the studio when Stan said "hey Steve" but there has to be a cooler way to not blow his cover.
2:03 Neither of the horses Stan and Terry wanted Steve to bet on for the Kentucky Derby won. Steve never placed the bet though so it's no big deal. Stan's horse came in dead last actually.
2:04 Steve didn't bet on the Kentucky Derby because he ran out of cash. He gave his last $20 to the guy parking his car.
2:05 The last time Stan was at Arlington he discovered the employee parking lot. Was he pretending that he worked there?
2:06 Over the weekend one of the listeners who won tickets to the broadcast emailed Steve to thank him. She also said that they had a valet system set up so you could call down when you were leaving and it would be ready for you.
2:07 Stan hasn't seen Steve's car in the garage lately. Is he stalking Steve or something? He's so fascinated with Steve's lifestyle.
2:08 Steve parks in a special area in the garage that costs a little extra. That includes a monthly car wash in the building, but Steve gets his car washed every week.
2:09 Steve's not aware of a car wash club though but he can hook Stan up with the two guys in the garage who run the thing. What would go on in the car wash club? Would they have meetings to talk about car wax?
2:10 Steve probably is in the car wash club, but he's not in it because they closed the Plaza Club.
2:11 Steve is disappointed that they closed the Plaza Club but his membership was transferred to a club in the Aon Building which is connected to the Prudential by tunnel.
2:12 Stan would like to get into Steve's new club. It's not that expensive and since Stan is black he'll probably get right in. It took Steve forever to get into the Plaza Club.
2:13 The main reason Steve joined the Plaza Club was because he was always having lunch meetings with people and didn't want to go to a restaurant. Plus he gets to show off there because everyone calls him Mr. Dahl. And only he can sign for the check.
2:14 The Plaza Club is probably going to be turned into a regular restaurant. It's the old observation deck of the Prudential Building so there's a great view up there.
2:15 Stan's going to join the car wash club soon because he's tired of dealing with the guy at the booth in the garage.
2:16 What Stan really needs to do is get the people who work on the show to do some of this stuff for him. It's only Bonnie and Chris, maybe Chris should be getting them sandwiches or something.
2:17 Bonnie starts all the interns off answering phones, there's no farm system at all. They should be working towards that. Stan said a few weeks ago that he didn't want to use the interns to do personal stuff for him, but he's in radio now.
2:18 Stan's not at Johnson Controls any more, he needs to be thinking of himself as Stan of the Stan and Terry show. Terry already thinks like that, he's got interns going through his mail and making reservations for him at Morton's.
2:29 Song: Boxing Gloves, Lonnie Fields
2:33 That's a long, slow fade on that song. Buzz only caught the last 5 rounds of the fight but he has the entire thing on DVR.
2:34 Steve watched the entire thing and the first 7 rounds were identical to the last 5. Buzz knows both those fighters and when he came in late and saw they were both standing up he knew what was going on.
2:35 One of the judges has a split decision which made the short, Jewish announcer guy on HBO get angry that anyone could judge in favor of De La Hoya.
2:36 Steve was watching that HBO series about De La Hoya and Mayweather. By the end of it he despised Floyd Mayweather because he's despicable. Plus his dad is a knucklehead and his uncle is even worse.
2:37 Steve ended up watching all three fights on Saturday night. He accidentally ordered the fight in non-HD and then he found the HD one and had to order again.
2:38 Buzz picked the Lonnie Fields song because it's funny and appropriate but last night, blues legend Carey Bell passed away. He was probably Buzz's favorite living harmonica player, at least up until yesterday.
2:39 Carey is the patriarch of a blues family that includes James Bell and Lurrie Bell. He was very old though. Buzz was wondering if we could play a few Carey Bell songs today.
2:40 In a final blues footnote, Buzz will be playing with the Blues Rocket Scientists this Saturday at Bills Blues in Evanston. There will be a table reserved up front for Ron Lewis as well as one for Buzz's investment advisor. It's sort of weird for him to see all his money right up in the front row like that.
2:41 Ron Lewis of course hosts a folk music show on Northwestern University's WNUR, even though he's not a student there. Ron was down here on Thursday to get a copy of Plain White T's performance on the show and then asked for permission to play it on his show. Steve granted him permission and then sent him an mp3 from him playing the songs on yesterday's show.
2:47 The guys calling the fight on HBO couldn't stop talking about how De La Hoya wasn't using the jab on Saturday. The jab is the safest punch to throw but for some reason he wasn't using it.
2:48 If your jab snaps a guys head back, you're not going to forget that. A lot of fighters abandon the jab because they get impatient and want to go for the knock-out.
2:49 Of course a few hits to the head might change up your game plan, or at least make you forget what you were going to do. As the karate instructor told Buzz's daughter, everyone has a plan until they get hit.
2:50 On Saturday Steve watched the Sox game, into the Kentucky Derby, into the Bulls game if that's what you want to call it then right to the boxing.
2:51 The second fight on Saturday featured a boxer from around here, maybe Round Lake. His trainer had a really nice Chicago accent too.
2:52 The fight was entertaining but Steve found it irritating that Mayweather came out in a backwards sombrero with shorts that were the color of the Mexican flag. It seemed really disrespectful.
2:53 Even though Mayweather was doing the Mexican stuff he had 50 Cent rapping him to the ring. Steve gets that he was just trying to mess with De La Hoya, but then for the whole fight his boxing trunks are the color of the Mexican flag.
2:54 Buzz is disappointed that he didn't watch the whole fight. On Saturday he came home from the Mexican restaurant and had apparently had one too many shots because he couldn't work the remote and went right to the live fight.
2:55 The last time De La Hoya fought he got hit in the solar plexus, went down and couldn't get back up. Those body shots do a lot of damage but they're not as glamorous as the head shots. It's also embarrassing because you're totally conscious, but you just can't get up.
2:56 There will probably be a De La Hoya/Mayweather rematch because they made so much money off of it.
2:57 Both the fighters had pretty sick abs though. They showed them during weigh-in and they were so defined they had knots in them. It made Steve glad he doesn't even bother with his abs. His are more like pillows.
2:58 Live read: Invent Help
3:04 Floyd Mayweather thanked God for helping him win on Saturday. It doesn't seem like God would like boxing or if he did it would be a guilty pleasure. A good portion of the Ten Commandments are violated during a boxing match.
3:05 Steve got a really irritating call over the weekend. Steve didn't recognize the number but they kept calling so Steve finally picked up.
3:06 The guy on the phone asked to speak the head of the house and Steve told him that he didn't know what he was selling but he wanted to be on the do not call list. Then the guy asked to speak to the head of the house and then Steve said the same thing again.
3:07 Finally the guy told Steve he was calling from the Chicago Tribune to see if he was interested in subscribing. Steve already gets the Tribune! Don't they have any record keeping over there? Plus Steve is a columnist for the paper!
3:08 No wonder that place is in shambles. Steve has had problems with the Trib before. A few years ago he got a call from a collection agency trying to collect $37 for a subscription he never ordered.
3:09 Steve wouldn't get a subscription here anyway because the paper would just be stolen and read by someone in the bathroom.
3:10 Steve found the whole thing very irritating though. Having some schmuck from Arizona calling him to subscribe to the Tribune is not going to save newspapers.
3:11 Steve has the tape of Ron Lewis' show on WNUR yesterday. He still doesn't understand why he's on the station if he's not a student.
3:12 Steve loves when Ron refers to this station as 'CKG, as if he's in the same building as WNUR. He also loves the long pauses.
3:13 The Plain White T's song that Ron played was the end of a 4-song set that had a Samson and Delilah theme. Steve gets the feeling that the song doesn't have to be good as long as it fits in with the theme.
3:14 That was a fine use of our purloined tune. There's no reason for Ron to fade the mp3 though, Steve and Buzz were enjoying listening to him.
3:15 Every Thursday Steve has a phone call with Ron. On the days when he actually is listening to Ron and not playing Monkey Solitaire he actually becomes mesmerized and has to ask him to repeat what he just said.
3:16 For the record Steve probably pays attention better when he's paying Monkey Solitaire. Normally Steve turns the sound off when he's playing Monkey Solitaire and talking to Ron.
3:17 Monkey Solitaire is just regular solitaire with monkeys and other noises. Like it'll say something when you get 4 aces or when the queen card goes over the king card.
3:18 Steve likes Monkey Solitaire, it's like having a friend and he doesn't really have any friends. Who needs friends when you have Monkey Solitaire?
3:24 Ron Lewis keeps trying to get Steve to get him a show on the station. Ron will have to talk to Drew about that though. Drew doesn't have a good ear though.
3:25 Ron's show seems better suited to The Nur though. You know you have a small audience when you can identify listeners by name and you know what shows they listen to on the station.
3:26 Just during the break Steve and Buzz were talking about Pete Reynolds, who listens to this show as well as Stan and Terry. He's the backbone of the station.
3:27 Song: Tired of Giving You My Love, Carey Bell
3:30 That's some power harmonica right there. Is Buzz going to step in to the breach now? He's got the amp for the power harmonica.
3:31 At some point someone turned Carey loose in the studio and he just went nuts on the harmonica.
3:32 There's a Bulls game tonight which means a 7:00 end. Normally since the game is in Detroit it would be on at 6:00 but since it's the playoffs it's on at 7:00.
3:33 Steve had a hard time finding Saturday's game, which was on TNT. The game was called by Doug Collins and Kevin Harlan who seemed to be doing a good job, although Steve wasn't really paying attention because the Bulls were losing so badly.
3:40 Steve feels that a lot of the Bulls talked the talk about the Pistons series, but didn't back that up on the court. Andres Nocioni was doing the most talking and Steve can play better than he did on Saturday.
3:41 Scott Skiles thinks that the Bulls lost so badly on Saturday because they had a week off where everyone was saying how good they were. They were beaten soundly on Saturday.
3:42 This is the one time that a sports team winning is good for this station since we're carrying the games. Normally when other teams do really well people want to listen to sports stations and call in to talk about it.
3:43 Brendan is a basketball idiot savant, or maybe just an idiot. He can come into the studio to talk about this if he wants.
3:44 There's a new door on the studio that doesn't close on it's own. Steve already got approval from the head engineer to get a totally new door but in the mean time someone made the door more soundproof.
3:45 Drew was down by the studio earlier to talk about the new door. He has a weird way of deflecting things because he said "you should have seen it 3 hours ago!" Steve doesn't care about 3 hours ago, he only cares about right now.
3:46 Brendan was here on Friday and the door was a lot worse. It took all your strength just to close it. Poor Jim kid had to deal with it all day. He could have left the door open but that just invites people to stop by and distract him.
3:47 There seems to be a cycle through the years with the Bulls and the Pistons. As the Pistons fortunes decline, the Bulls fortunes rise. The last time a lot of that had to do with Michael Jordan but just like before the Pistons have a much older team than the Bulls.
3:48 The first time around with Jordan it took the Bulls 3 or 4 years to get past the Pistons. The Bulls finally swept the Pistons out of the playoffs in 1991 and Isaiah and the rest of the team walked off the court before the game was over like the little bitches that they are.
3:49 Brendan's hoping the Bulls can take at least one game in Detroit. On Saturday it's like the Bulls were playing with a ball coated in vaseline.
3:50 It doesn't seem right that Richard Hamilton should be able to play with that Phantom of the Opera mask. Everyone probably wishes they could wear one of those but they can't. Steve Nash could have probably used one last night.
3:51 Steve also didn't like Noch's danskin look. It wasn't as bad as Dwayne Wade's but he wants to see armpit!
3:56 Steve meant to tell Buzz on Friday that he did a great job but he was off faster than a prom dress.
3:57 Steve thought Friday was the best Arlington broadcast they've ever done. Buzz felt very relaxed at the broadcast, plus he had a few wins on the track.
3:58 Steve feels that less is more with the broadcast. There weren't as many interviews but the ones he did do were good. Plus Joe Kristufek wasn't as squirrelly.
3:59 On the phone is Mark Schanowsky from Comcast Sportsnet. Steve prefers to watch Bulls games on Comcast but TNT gets to designate which games they want to air. Comcast gets games 3 and 6.
4:00 As Steve said earlier, he could have played better on Saturday than Noch did. He was the one doing all the talking about the Bulls winning in 7. Maybe that was all part of his plans because it looks like it might take 7 games.
4:01 Scott Skiles said that when he was a player he was the edgy one so he can see where Noch was coming from. In a sick way though it seems like Skiles might have wanted them to lose that badly just to wake them up.
4:02 The Pistons didn't really play that well on Saturday. There was a point where neither team could score at all.
4:03 Mark thinks tonight will be a better game but he's still not sure if the Bulls will win. He probably doesn't care about the game if it's not on his channel.
4:04 Mark says that Hamilton is still wearing that face guard because he's superstitious. The Pistons all wear headbands too. The Bulls have a team rule about no headbands but the NBA actually sells licensed headbands.
4:05 The Sox seems like their back on track and the Cubs are still winning. Lou Piniella really worked his managerial skills yesterday, moving Soriano back to second base.
4:06 If the Cubs hadn't won the game in the 10th Lou would have moved Cliff Floyd to shortstop which would have been scary. It's nice to see a Cubs manager who's not just sitting there hoping for a three-run home run to win the game.
4:07 Steve's just happy the Sox won 2 of 3 in Anaheim. The Angels fans really hate AJ out there.
4:14 It seems like Scott Skiles was OK with the Pistons beating the Bulls that badly on Saturday. They did all his work for him, he just has to sit back and be mad.
4:15 The Bulls all seemed pretty embarrassed at shoot-around yesterday. Buzz isn't a big basketball fan but all this drama is enough to make him watch.
4:16 Steve's not sure how the WCKG broadcast syncs up with the TV but for his money, Neil and Bill do a great job.
4:17 Now that Buzz has met Neil, he's a Neil Funk devotee.
4:18 Steve will be playing Carey Bell songs today in tribute to him because he passed away last night. Does a Buzz Kilman go to the funeral?
4:19 Buzz will go to the funeral if it fits his schedule. A lot of times it seems like people are just at those funerals to be seen.
4:20 Buzz did skip a funeral once and he's paid for it every since then. Was it Tom Webb?
4:21 Buzz went to that funeral, he was the star of the thing. Dave McBride was also there because Tom was a news man.
4:22 Buzz didn't go to Rick Canoff's funeral, he was in the band The Flock. He had diabetes and Buzz was involved in a lot of fundraisers for him but for some reason he skipped his funeral and has regretted it ever since.
4:23 A lot of times you think that if you don't go to a funeral it won't matter. How can you being there possibly erase the fact that someone died? Funerals are really uncomfortable too.
4:24 Buzz did go to a funeral with Tom Webb once. He won't say what happened in the car ride over but as soon as he walked in and saw the casket and the guy's dad he just lost it and had to excuse himself.
4:25 Buzz would like to at least go to the visitation for Carey Bell, if only because he was his favorite harmonica player. That might be of some comfort to the family.
4:26 One of Bell's sons was pretty mean to Buzz at a show at the Checkerboard Lounge once. He almost threw him off the stage.
4:27 When the Black Lone Ranger died, Buzz owed him $50. At his funeral he wanted to write a check to him and slip it in his pocket but he knew someone would see him, take the check out and cash it.
4:28 Last night Steve was watching a Paul Mienke report about a local soldier who died in Iraq and how his mother wasn't getting the right benefits. At some point though they showed a manila folder that had the solider's name and Social Security Number on it.
4:29 Even though the guy is dead that number could still be used by someone. Plus his mom is still probably in for some benefits.
4:30 Song: Walkin' By Myself, Carey Bell
4:33 Buzz was saying during that song that he does a version of that with the Blues Rocket Scientists but he always gets mad at himself because it's never as good as Carey's version.
4:34 Live read: Gierczyk Properties
4:35 Steve can't find the "free, free, free" on his 360 machine so he'll have to consult the notes left by Pete for Jim. It just shows that the system is flawed and he knows it's flawed so he has to warn him about it.
4:36 Next time Pete should leave a note for Jim that it's important for Steve to hit the post on vocal refrain on Cheeseburger in Paradise. Pete says Jim was very worried about that whole thing. He didn't do a good job on it though, he kept fading it down.
4:37 Between Jim and Mark fading things up and down Steve completely didn't know what was going on. Mark can't stop fidgeting, he needs to set it and forget it. Should we get Ron Popeil to engineer the show? Zarang has it all right and then he deconstructs it then gets it right again just for something to do.
4:38 While Steve is talking to Pete, has he found the Deliverance audio yet? In Steve's blog today he said that the winning jockey in the Kentucky Derby sounded like the mountain man in Deliverance.
4:39 Pete has yet to find the audio. Steve is surprised by that because of the 10,000 tapes he has in there. The jockey sounded like an illiterate Cajun, which is fine, but sort of jarring. You've got the Queen there and the roses and the mint juleps and it all comes down to a guy who sounds like an illiterate Cajun.
4:45 Live read: Balance for Life
4:46 Steve has gotten Buzz in the habit of weighing himself everyday. There is a school of thought that says don't do that. That was the school where Steve gained 20 pounds.
4:47 Caller JR was watching the Kentucky Derby and after that interview that the jockey gave a horse trotted up with a bucket and a sponge.
4:48 The jockey washed the horse with the sponge and then washed his face with the same sponge.
4:49 JR has won 2 tickets to Steve's show with The Dahlfins next Saturday, the 19th at the Cubby Bear North.
4:50 Is JR definitely going to go? Since the tickets are free Steve's concern is that people who get them won't use them.
4:51 Steve's like Jay-Z now doing shows for Budweiser. They haven't asked him to rap yet.
4:52 Caller Dave wanted to let Steve know that the jockey has been invited to a white-tie dinner at the White House. Him and Bush will probably be comparing cowboy boots.
4:53 Dave thinks you'd be able to pick the jockey's girl out pretty easily too. It seems like Dave has a whole routine he's trying to work on Steve. He keeps trying to top him.
4:54 Dave has won the bonus prize, even though he couldn't have been more irritating.
4:55 Based on Shane Lavalett's wife Steve thinks that other jockey probably has a pretty hot girlfriend. Would Dave like to bet the $1200 in gift certificates on that?
4:56 Buzz wasn't sure if he should offer Dave the tickets to the Cubby Bear North show, he had to run it by Steve. Dave seems like a troublemaker, he'd probably get up on stage and start singing Steve's songs.
4:57 The Cajun thing is creepy though, now Steve is starting to imagine the jockey's wife looking like Adam Sandler's mom in The Waterboy. Maybe Dave should come back stage before the show and give Steve some new material.
4:58 Dave actually partied with Steve back stage briefly at an Air and Water Show broadcast from North Pier. It was just a few beers and good time, nothing bad.
4:59 Dave had a boat at North Pier and Steve came onboard before the broadcast. Garry was nowhere to be seen though.
5:00 Garry's a lot more outgoing with the listeners these days. Three years of not working will do that to you.
5:01 Steve learned a long time ago that it takes just as much energy to be a jerk to someone as it does to be nice. Plus these people are buying a product that you're selling to them.
5:08 As usual, Steve's finely-tuned ear is right on the money with the jockey/Deliverance comparison.
5:09 Live read: Atlantis Gentlemen's Club
5:10 Steve has decided to stop using the clip from Donovan's Atlantis because it doesn't seem very manly.
5:11 It's not too hard to get to Atlantis, but the merge over to the Bishop Ford is a little tricky. It's only down to one lane and since Steve wasn't too familiar with the area he didn't know to go all the way up to the front and cut in.
5:12 Atlantis is closed on Sunday. Steve knows that becuase a girl emailed him over the weekend wanting some info about applying for a job.
5:13 Headlines with Buzz
5:14 Today when Steve was about for his walk/run he ran into a few female neighbors. Girls always want to talk about the bad things and within 30 seconds there was discussion about the tornado in Kansas.
5:15 All Steve said was if something like that happened in their neighborhood, everyone would need to be a lot cooler on TV. Those people in Kansas were pretty funky.
5:16 Steve feels bad for those people and they were probably up all night and he's probably wrong in saying this, but if you're going to be on TV you need to clean yourself up a little bit. Every single person they showed was a greaseball with at least one missing tooth.
5:17 It just didn't seem like these people represented what everyone else in Kansas is really like. Steve wanted to see someone who looked like Dorothy.
5:18 The White House is warning people to brace for an increase in casualties in Iraq after new security measures are implemented. In other news the President's approval ratings are at an all-time low, even after the dancing he did at the White House.
5:19 When Paris Hilton begins serving her sentence in an LA County jail she'll be in a one-to-two person suite, segregated from other inmates.
5:20 Paris will be kept away from a notorious gang of lesbians who like to terrorize other inmates. She won't be allowed to have any make-up, will only have a 5 minute shower everyday and will have to wash her underwear in the shower.
5:21 Steve got a picture of Pat Dahl with Paris Hilton over the weekend. She was doing some sort of appearance in LA.
5:22 Ed says the photo is on Dahl.com but he can't find it anywhere. There are a ton of Arlington photos, which Steve went through to have one removed.
5:23 It looks like Pat just came across Paris shopping in LA and had a photo taken with her. She seems quite taken with him. He's wearing a Bulls shirt but a black Dodgers hat. Steve wasn't aware Pat had switched to the Dodgers.
5:24 Ed Silha is on the phone. The Pat and Paris photo is on the early Summer gallery. Ed can't put it on the home page yet because it's hard to update that during the show.
5:25 Steve's question for Ed was about the spring and summer galleries for the photo page. He could have just emailed him but it was too many words.
5:26 Buzz has some bad audio of a kid who had some spiders living in his hear. Was that recorded from one of Pete's bad VCRs because it has a really bad hum on it.
5:27 Pete actually has three of the highest tech VCRs that he's using right now. Steve has a question for Pete.
5:28 Steve recently gave Pete an old computer because he got a new one. Pete's computer wasn't working and he kept having Ed come over to fix it. Was that just a way to get Ed over to Pete's place?
5:29 Steve was wondering if Pete kept the old computer like he does with everything else. Because Pete now has a Mac so he really wouldn't be able to use anything on the old PC. Did Pete get rid of his old porn on there?
5:30 Ed has the old computer so he's probably looking at all of Pete's porn. Steve was just reading about how Warren Zevon's son was in charge of disposing of all of his porn after he died. As it turns out the porn was of Warren nailing other chicks.
5:31 Pat Dahl is on the phone but Steve should probably take a break. This has the feel of something that Buzz really wants to get in-depth on and he doesn't want to run right into the Bulls game.
5:38 On the phone is Pat Dahl, he just finished addressing all the Save the Date cards for the wedding. Sounds like a fun, manly day out in Los Angeles.
5:39 The wedding is still on? Because Buzz thought Paris looked pretty comfortable next to Pat.
5:40 Pat thinks Paris would be comfortable being a third-wheel. Steve doesn't need a Save the Date card because he already saved the date.
5:41 Pat ran into Paris at the Barney's at The Grove in L.A. It's very upscale but the store looks downscale.
5:42 There was a lot of paparazzi outside the store so Pat positioned himself near the front door so he'd be there behind her in all the photos waving. That's the Pat Dahl that Buzz knows.
5:43 The networks announce their new line-up on Friday so Pat will start looking for a job after that. There are rumors that The Class could come back.
5:44 Pat's fiance went over to Paris to ask her if she'd take a picture with Pat. You can see on the photo on Dahl.com that she's doing the classic Paris Hilton pose.
5:45 Pat is going to send her the photo while she's in prison as a reminder of their time together. Then he can go and visit her in prison like in Midnight Express.
5:46 Pat's Dodgers cap is brown and white. They're his National League team, which is fine since he lives in LA. Pat did not go to any of the Sox at Angels games because he was too busy with the Save the Date cards. Steve might have to fly out there for an intervention.
5:47 Steve wants Pat to take his grandpa to a Dodgers game. Steve would take him to a game in Chicago but he won't come here.
5:48 Pat goes golfing with his grandpa once a week even though he doesn't really like golf.
5:49 At the Beverly Country Club near Steve's parents house there's a snack shop about halfway through the course. When Steve was in high school they'd run near there in gym class.
5:50 Steve and his friends always stopped at the snack shop for hot dogs, then to a friends house to watch some TV. Then when they'd look for the rest of the class and join up with them after they passed by.
5:57 Live read: Townstone Financial
5:58 David's working The Package into this live read which Steve appreciates, even though it's a dead idea.
5:59 No one around here seems to get that doing a show and coming up with a good slogan are the same skill. Buzz is going to keep pressing the matter.
6:00 Steve hasn't even bothered to forward all the emails from listeners who love The Package idea. Drew will just have some pointless rationalization for why The Package won't work.
6:01 Drew is acting like Steve never even told him about The Package. It's not as if Drew is still trying to wrap his head around the concept, it just never happened and Steve is nuts.
6:07 Live read: Balance for Life
6:08 Song: Short Dress Woman, Carey & Lurrie Bell
6:12 That song was actually recorded in someone's living room. Carey died yesterday so this is the third song in the tribute to him.
6:13 Buzz is probably surprised Steve got all three songs in. He's a sucker for things in threes, that's how Buzz pulled him in.
6:14 Live read: My Chauffeur
6:15 Steve gets so anxious going to the airport lately that he doesn't even want to travel. Everything is a hassle so the whole way there Steve is angling and scheming to figure out where to be dropped off or if he wants to check the bags.
6:16 Steve really needs to get himself a jet. So far Drew hasn't made any progress in that department. They want to trade jet time for Steve's money. It's not over yet though.
6:21 News with Buzz
6:22 The tomb of Herod the Great has been discovered in Jerusalem, according to a spokesman for Hebrew University. They have a horrible football team but a great basketball team.
6:23 What a relief that is! How long have we been looking for the tomb and it was right there all the time.
6:24 Buzz went to the guest list for tonight's dinner at the White House with The Queen and there are only about 130 people on it. Included on that list is the jockey who won the Kentucky Derby.
6:25 The only names that really jumped out to Buzz were Arnold Palmer and Elizabeth Hasselbeck. When Arnold Palmer is at the White House does he drink Arnold Palmers?
6:26 The Hasselbeck's probably got invited because Elizabeth is hot as hell. Karl Rove will probably work that coming off the Sheryl Crow thing.
6:28 Paris Hilton is blaming her publicist for this whole prison thing. He said it was OK to drive to work on her suspended license. That doesn't seem right.
6:29 It seems like everyone wants her to go to jail and she should go to jail. It's only 45 days with another girl and she'll be completely supervised.
6:30 Why does Buzz keep coming into work with the Dow continuing to rise?
6:31 Spider-Man 3 took in $148 million over the weekend, breaking numerous box office records. Steve really likes that new Comcast commercial with the guy interviewing a roommate for an apartment. The guy is dressed in a Spider-Man costume.
6:32 Buzz saw the movie over the weekend and it was action-packed. Reviews were lukewarm but it made a lot of money.
6:33 A deep-space telescope captured images of the brightest supernova ever recorded. It is believed the sun that collapsed and caused the supernova was 100 times the size of our sun.
6:40 Song: Champagne Supernova, Oasis
6:47 Buzz was talking about a supernova during the news, he painted quite a picture. It's like having a Hubble telescope right in the studio.
6:54 Hopefully tonight's Bulls game is better than Saturday's game because that really sucked. Does that go out over the NBA network?
6:55 Whenever there's a Bulls game someone from the NBA network calls and is put on hold so they can get a feed for their website. They probably don't starting streaming that feed until the game starts.
6:56 There's one game left in Detroit and then back here for 2 games. Buzz thought he heard Mark Schanowsky say that the Bulls were the best home team in the NBA.
6:57 Steve thought Mark was talking about Detroit. Brendan says it's the Bulls. All of the sudden Buzz is Mr. Stat now that he knows we're being broadcast on the NBA website.
