2:02 Now that the Cubs have banned alcohol in the clubhouse Stan is suggesting sparkling cider in case they ever win the World Series.
2:03 It seems like it's the responsibility of the individual players to not get so drunk that they slam into the back of a tow truck. Sox GM Kenny Williams is also considering a ban on alcohol in the clubhouse.
2:04 That guy on the Cardinals was a knucklehead. He didn't even wreck his own car, it was a rental because he had already wrecked his car earlier in the week.
2:05 Maybe they should have AA meetings in the clubhouse but there's no reason to ban alcohol. Most guys don't drink enough in the clubhouse to get that drunk anyway. Why would you want to hang out in the clubhouse with the guys you've been with all day?
2:06 Steve doesn't really care about this but he's trying to fake indignation. If Derrek Lee has to walk across the street to get a beer, so what?
2:07 It does seem ridiculous to ban alcohol though. It's not like they closed all the bars around Steve after he stopped drinking. If you're a grown man you're responsible for yourself.
2:08 If Steve wanted to have a beer in the Green Room after the show shouldn't he be able to? There might be a law about alcohol in the work place though.
2:09 For the entire time Steve has been at WCKG he's been sober so he's not sure how it works. It definitely seems like Drew is drunk based on the way he behaves and executes tasks.
2:10 Stan's trying to think of something to say to get Steve to do his Drew Hayes impersonation. Does he want him to just do it anyway?
2:11 Stan and Terry have a meeting with Drew everyday before their show. Steve figured they had met with him recently because before one caller today Stan said "Hey Bob you're on the air with Stan and Terry on WCKG Chicago's FM talk station". Drew told Stan he had to say that for every caller.
2:12 That definitely seemed like something Drew told him to do. All that is longer than the actual phone call. Drew's really trying to get that FM Talk station out there to kill The Package idea.
2:15 Song: Fire, Arthur Brown
2:19 Steve's headphones are cutting out. He thought Buzz was having a problem because he started tapping his head.
2:20 It's usually just the headphones that aren't working but it seems like it's the microphone. It's alright now, in the words of Free.
2:21 Steve imagines the Arthur Brown song is a tribute to the fire in California. He also heard some tape to back that up.
2:22 There's a fire in Griffith's Park in California. Buzz is wondering if that's the same one used in Invaders from Mars. Steve's not sure about that but they did film Rebel Without a Cause there.
2:23 Steve has seen video of plenty of fires in California but this one is at a place where he used to hang out as a kid. Then he grew up and went there to smoke pot and watch the planetarium show.
2:24 Steve's family lived in the foothills in LA so they saw a lot of fires. Every little kid wants to be a fireman when they're growing up but the forest firefighters look even cooler.
2:25 Steve's family lived in an area where there were a lot of big mansions owned by people from out East. For some reason they were abandoned and then subdivided.
2:26 One of Steve's friends lived in a mansion that had been subdivided. Behind them was an avocado grove. One thing led to another and Steve and his friend started a small fire with some dried avocado leaves. Next thing they knew the entire orchard was in flames.
2:27 Steve and his friend each had a hose they were going to use to put the fire out with, but the firefighters showed up before they had a chance. Steve always felt it was unfair because he was spanked by his friend's mom and his own dad.
2:28 Even as Steve was being spanked he couldn't help but notice how cool the firefighters looked.
2:29 Buzz set his house on fire once by accident. It was a really stupid accident and no one believed him. Buzz climbed under the house with a torch because he was looking for something and didn't have a flashlight. Lo and behold the house caught on fire.
2:30 Luckily the house was not destroyed, it never ignited into a big blaze. No one believed Buzz was stupid enough to go under the house with a torch to look for something so they thought he started the fire on purpose.
2:37 Rescue Me starts up pretty soon again doesn't it? Buzz just saw a promo that featured Denis Leary fighting himself.
2:38 Someone at FX needs to step in and supervise those shows. The Shield has gone a little crazy and Rescue Me did last year.
2:39 It's been a labor for Steve to watch The Shield this year. Everything has so complicated and screwed up now that Shane killed Lem. That was a big mistake, plot-wise.
2:40 Steve's sort of bailed on The Sopranos as well but it might just be him. He has a lot of stuff to do, he's still 3 Heroes episodes behind. Buzz has seen the last 3 Heroes and that will not disappoint Steve.
2:41 Buzz has become very disoriented watching The Shield. It used to be there were bad guys that you liked and good guys that you didn't like and now it's all screwed up.
2:42 Whenever the star of the show becomes the executive producer, get ready for the show to tank. You need to have someone telling you you can't do stuff, no matter who you are. Otherwise you just run amok.
2:43 Caller Tim is in Los Angeles listening on the internet. Tim has called in before, he works for a prop house in Hollywood.
2:44 Tim's prop house is not union, thank god. He doesn't want to promote the unions either. Is Tim a communist?
2:45 Tim was up near the Rose Bowl last night and you could see the flames. Even though it's destructive it's a pretty awesome sight. Those cats fighting the fire are something else though man.
2:46 This is like talking to Sammy Davis Jr. Steve recommends a visit to Rick's Burritos. Tim has never been but he's heard Steve talk about it.
2:47 Rick's is supposed to close because the owners lost the lease but it's still open. Who would want to pay rent for 40 years?
2:48 Steve thought about stepping in and trying to save RIck's but he doesn't think he can deal with people who pay rent for 40 years. Buzz did something similar with a couch. He and Steve can do a show together but they probably wouldn't be great business partners.
2:49 Steve's dream was to become The Burrito King but it doesn't look like that will happen. He's better off anyway, does he really need to be The Burrito King? It would just be another thing he'd try to get out of.
2:50 The Rick's burrito is different than what most people are used to. It's an old school burrito with tomato sauce in it. Steve has a few in his freezer, maybe he'll bring some in.
2:51 Steve gets Rick's shipped to him from time to time. Last Christmas Steve's dad sent him a box but the FedEx guy couldn't find his house so they sat in a warehouse thawing out for an entire weekend.
2:52 Steve ate a burrito and he was fine but the rest of the family became psychosomatically sick from them. Steve refroze the burritos, wouldn't that kill anything bad?
2:53 Steve gets stuff from FedEx all the time so he has no idea why they couldn't find his house.
3:00 King of Queens didn't really go downhill when Kevin James became executive producer. The show did start having trouble with CBS though.
3:01 When the star of the show becomes executive producer it's usually not because of power but money. Being the executive producer just means you get more money during syndication. It always seems weird when the creator of the show gets bumped by the person he created.
3:02 It does seem like they're doing some weird things on King of Queens though. Last week Carrie said she's moving to Manhattan and Doug is going to stay in Queens. Steve only assumes that Doug will also moved to Manhattan meaning he can't be the king of Queens any more. That's a great ending.
3:03 Caller Ken is not a nutritionist or a doctor or anything like that but he's still warning Steve not to eat those burritos that were rethawed. It'll mess up your insides.
3:04 Steve hates to throw them out. Why can't Pat just go get him some more? He doesn't have a job, he's just spending his day sending out Save the Date cards.
3:05 Those burritos are like gold to Steve. A few years ago he got a shipment around Christmas and his boys were running through three a day. Ken wants to know if the boys were running through the burritos or if the burritos were running through the boys.
3:06 Steve's talking about a different shipment of burritos, Ken's not even a good listener. How about a spin of the wheel and then we'll send Ken on his way?
3:07 Steve was going to call Drew to ask him something but he accidentally brought up the feed from the studio down the hall of that stupid Upscale Chicago. They take about 20 hours per week to record a 1 hour show, it's a train wreck.
3:08 Steve doesn't listen to the station on the weekends except for Matt and Brendan. With all due respect to David Hochberg this place is like a whorehouse on the weekend and Steve is mopping the floors.
3:09 People are in their cars over the weekend too, shouldn't we have a good station 7 days a week?
3:16 Caller Julie was listening to the station over the weekend and she heard the Tom Leykis wine show.
3:17 The wine thing is really funny because Tom thinks he knows what he's talking about but he's just a big dumb idiot.
3:18 Julie's mom loves listening to Chef Hans because she's from Poland. Does it remind her of when the Nazis invaded?
3:19 Steve's sorry for the Tom Leykis show but he tries not to think of the weekend line-up.
3:20 Steve doesn't even really listen to Matt and Brendan because it's really hard to listen to even 2 hours of radio after doing a 5 hour show.
3:21 Steve feels that he's been in radio long enough to be able to turn a show on, listen for a few minutes and know it's going well. It seems like it's going well and they know what they're doing.
3:22 It's funny for Steve to walk into their studio after his show to say good night and see Matt sitting there behind the big desk with the headphones on.
3:23 Matt did out Mike last night for his Cinco de Mayo party. Apparently Mike got obliterated and did some things he didn't remember. There were also some people from work there and he's not high enough up on the food chain to be messing with work people.
3:24 Apparently Mike was dancing with one of his female co-workers and her boyfriend took umbrage with that. Then the boyfriend took Mike into his room and yelled at him.
3:25 So back to the burrito story. The boys were blowing through the burritos and Steve only had about 6 left. Then Ron Lewis stopped by. He's one of those guys who stops by your house if he's anywhere near you.
3:26 Steve is not a "drop by" guy. Janet's family drops by and they don't even ring the doorbell, they just walk in. What if Steve is in a state of undress? What if his pants are off?
3:27 Ron stopped by because he was on his way to Midway to pick up his daughter. It's not like Steve lives at the end of one of the runways, he's still about 10-15 minutes away.
3:28 Ron always has some other reason to stop by like a signature on a document or a catalog that got delivered to the office.
3:29 Janet offered Ron one of Steve's burritos because Matt was heating one up for himself. Then Steve had to go get him one, which he didn't want to do and then heat it up for him.
3:30 When Steve asked Ron how it was he said "It's OK". Rick's Burritos is one of Steve's favorite things in the world, at least he could have faked it! The good news is that Ron's daughter called and started yelling at him because he wasn't at the airport yet.
3:31 Steve got mad at Ron but not that mad because the family was around. Plus he sort of felt bad after the call from the daughter, it was abusive. It was worse than the Alec Baldwin call to his daughter, he should be in a shelter.
3:32 Steve wants to open the mailbag and he also has a song to play. He has to talk to someone from Comcast though. It seems like he always has to talk to someone at Comcast just as he's getting on a roll.
3:33 Steve's just going to read a mean letter he got but not open the mailbag. The emailer said that Steve's sports yesterday was Adamle-ish. Steve did have some trouble with it but if it was Adamle-ish Buzz would have asked him what's wrong.
3:34 Steve has a problem when he does the sports after 6:00 because that's when Brendan leaves to relax before the big show. Normally if he messes something up his go to person to yell at is Brendan.
3:35 Buzz doesn't think Steve's sports can ever be Adamle-ish. How about a nice montage of yesterday's sports from Pete with all the Adamle moments?
3:36 Steve's not disagreeing with the emailer but he feels this is an inappropriate response to the Thought for the Day email. Steve keeps forgetting to tell Ed to make the Thought for the Day come from an email that you can't respond to.
3:37 Steve loves all the listeners dearly but everyday he gets a response to the Thought for the Day from the same 30 or 40 people. They just can't help themselves.
3:38 Today's Thought for the Day was about the Hasselhoff video. One guy suggested that Hasselhoff open a chain of burger restaurants called Hasselburgers where you eat your food off the floor. That's a great idea but what is Steve supposed to do about it?
3:39 Buzz thinks Steve's problem is that he feels the need to respond to all these emails.
3:40 The Thought for the Day is meant to remind people to listen, it's not lonely Steve reaching out. That's all done on his MySpace page.
3:46 On the phone is Pat Boyle from Comcast Sportsnet. Steve watched the Sox lose on Comcast last night then went over and watched 6 innings of the Cubs game. He fell asleep before it ended.
3:47 The Cubs lost in the 15th following the 14th Inning Stretch from Len and Bob. Both the Cubs and the Sox had late inning leads that the let slip from them. All you can do is move on to the next day.
3:48 The Bulls are playing game 3 tomorrow but it doesn't seem like anything good is going to happen. You'd like to think the United Center will give the Bulls an extra 20 points but that probably won't happen. At least it can't get any worse.
3:49 Scott Skiles doesn't even know what changes to make to the team because they're playing so bad.
3:50 There was a lot of hype around the Bulls after they beat the Heat but they Heat aren't the same team as the Pistons. Pat thinks the Bulls will be able to get it together tomorrow though.
3:51 Steve is predicting a sweep even though he doesn't want it to happen.
3:52 Steve has said this before but it doesn't seem like Richard Hamilton should be able to wear that mask. The mask allows him to get into more physical situations without worrying about being hurt. If his injury from a few years ago hasn't healed he should be out fo the league.
3:53 It's sort of like all that padding that Barry Bonds wears on his right arm. You're not allowed to wear that any more but Barry was grandfathered in.
3:54 Pat heard Steve talking to Stan and Terry about the alcohol ban in the Cubs clubhouse. Steve gets where the teams are coming from but maybe they should all get liquor licenses and dram shop insurance?
3:55 Steve's favorite Comcast person might be Pat Boyle. He also likes Garfein but he tends to run long because he doesn't want to leave. Steve also likes Billy Jack, lets not forget about him.
3:56 There's not one Comcast person that Buzz doesn't like. You've got The Jiggler, you've got Kerry Sayers who clearly has the hots for Steve. Was she at Mike's party?
3:57 Steve needs some advice from Buzz. Should he have a Thought for the Day that you can't respond to? Because it's not really that much work to respond and the people who respond everyday don't always get something back.
3:58 Steve feels lonely when he doesn't get emails from people. Buzz doesn't think the Thought for the Day should be a two-way but he's not a people person.
3:59 Maybe Steve could get an auto-response set up for people who respond to the Thought for the Day. Then if they need more than that, a suggestion to email Steve directly. At least that will slow people down a bit.

4:09 Song: Hey Julie, Fountains of Wayne
4:12 Steve talked to a girl named Julie earlier but it took him a while to finally play that song. It's a fine little pop song.
4:19 Just to set the record straight, there were no work-related incidents at Mike Dahl's Cinco de Mayo party. He did get hauled into his own bedroom by some girl's boyfriend. He must have done something pretty bad to allow that to happen.
4:20 Mike doesn't want to come on the air he just wanted to set the record straight. All Steve heard about it was when Mike called Janet last night to complain about Matt talking about him on his show to Janet.
4:21 Headlines with Buzz
4:22 Just a day after the US apologized for air strikes that killed 19 civilians in Afghanistan more air strikes today killed 21 civilians. So they're really sorry now.
4:23 Last night the White House held the first white tie dinner of the Bush administration to send off the Queen. A white tie dinner is just a white shirt and tie with tails on your jacket.
4:24 The Queen made a joke about Bush saying she came to the U.S. to help us celebrate the bicentennial in 1776. She's still working him over on that?
4:25 It doesn't seem like she's had a lick of fun in her entire life. Buzz has the Helen Mirren movie The Queen at home but he hasn't watched it. He was hoping to see some stuff about her misspent youth. Have you ever seen her husband Prince Phillip or The First Tool as Steve likes to call him.
4:26 Comcast CEO Brian Roberts showed off a new modem at the Cable Show in Las Vegas yesterday. The modem is up to 25 times faster than the standard cable modem.
4:27 It's weird to think that when Steve was a kid all he had was a rotary phone on a party line. That means 4 people were hooked up to the same phone line. If you were clever enough you could listen to your neighbor's phone calls. People had different phone numbers though.
4:28 All Steve ever did when he went to his grandparent's house was listen to their neighbors phone calls.
4:29 When Steve was a little older he got a marine radio and monitored the marine band. The people who had mobile phones back then used the marine channel so you could listen to hotshots in Porsches going to visit their girlfriends.
4:30 There was one guy who must have lived by Steve but he could never figure out who he was. He used a lot of filthy, baseball-related analogies.
4:31 Caller Patrick has some info about party lines. Everyone had a different phone number and a different ring.
4:38 Ed Silha set up an auto response for people who respond to the Thought for the Day. Ed throws around escalating words like their pillows so Steve will have to change it. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!
4:39 Ed used effective immediately on Curt the other web guy and he just quit. Steve still hasn't heard back from him.
4:40 Ed's response is "Thanks for your message. We're happy you enjoy receiving Steve's Thought for the Day emailed. This mailbox is not monitored regularly if your comment was urgent please sent it to steve@dahl.com." Urgent? If Steve's somewhat of a fan he'd be put off by that.
4:41 Ed is a people person but there's something missing. That could be why he's not having any success with women. There are other guys out there who have success with women and they're not as accomplished as Ed.
4:42 Ed Silha is on the phone. He thought the response was fine and what Steve was looking for based on what he said earlier. Steve never said "urgent" though.
4:43 Steve doesn't really feel like going back maybe Jim could look it up since he's logging the show.
4:44 Steve feels Ed might need to lower his standards a little bit with women. Why are they so high? That might be the problem here.
4:45 Steve hasn't heard back from Jim on this yet, which is one of the annoying things he does.
4:46 Steve said that the auto-response should say if the person needs more than an auto-response they can email Steve directly.
4:53 It's Wednesday which means it's time for Bob and Ron. Bob has a question for Steve as their personal mentor. They have their first personal appearance coming up Friday and they're looking for advice.
4:54 Here's some advice, don't ask Steve questions. They're taking their cues from Stan who starts off every day with a question for Steve. Steve was planning on talking about their appearance, did they think he wouldn't?
4:55 Didn't we have an issue last week with Ron promoting out-of-turn? Then Bob comes right back with it. Let Steve handle the promoting and Bob and Ron can stick to being the two stoners who bring in the CD every week. They should be like Cheech & Chong not Woodward and Bernstein.
4:56 Tomorrow Matt and Brendan will be out at the Emerald Isle in Chicago on Northwest Highway. Can someone turn the Bob and Ron music down? It's very loud. Does Pete do that on purpose?
4:57 Steve felt like he as on Ecstasy, that's how much input he was getting. It's still not low enough. Steve doesn't want to be screaming over it a Pink Floyd song! Pete should just bring the CD in, he's not doing that any more.
4:58 Steve was just trying to figure out how to do the Crosstown Classic broadcast next Friday and still go to Arcade Fire with Pete. He doesn't want to go with him if he's going to act like that.
4:59 One problem could be that Bob and Ron are just annoying to it makes everything else annoying.
5:00 Pete better look really hot when they go to the Arcade Fire show. Did he pick out close to wear? Is his outfit laid out on his bed? Does Pete even make his bed?
5:01 Pete only makes his bed on the weekends which is what Steve would do just in case someone comes over.
5:02 Matt and Brendan are at the Emerald Isle at 6686 Northwest Hwy on Friday and Bob and Ron are at the Stadium Sports Club in Rolling Meadows on Friday.
5:03 How did Bob and Ron get the better gig than Matt and Brendan? Why are they even doing an appearance? If anyone associated with the show is going to be doing appearances Steve needs to know about it. Who asked them to do the appearance?
5:04 Bob and Ron were approached by Jill from promotions. What the hell is she doing down there? She's running her own crazy empire. Last week Steve had a meeting with all of them and he said he didn't want to go on any trips this spring or summer. Then the very next day she asked him if he was sure he didn't want to do any trips. Wasn't she taking notes?! Or was she just writing about a bird she'd recently seen?
5:05 Steve doesn't feel Bob and Ron are the two guys we want representing this station. Buzz isn't really sure what Steve is talking about here. Maybe Buzz should go over during the break and look at Bob and Ron. If he can honestly say that he thinks it's OK for them to go out and represent the station then Steve will move on.
5:11 Alright, Steve's going to try this again. Tomorrow Matt and Brendan will be out at the Emerald Isle in Chicago to give away tickets for the Cubby Bear North concert next Saturday.
5:12 On Friday Bob and Ron will be at the Stadium Sports Club in Rolling Meadows. Get it? Rolling? Steve's main concern is that all of Bob and Ron's idiot, pothead, Deadhead friends will get tickets to his show and they'll all be there trance-dancing, wanting Steve to "jam it out".
5:13 In theory all the people going to Bob and Ron's appearance will be fans of the show who want tickets to Steve's concert. In Steve's nightmare all of Bob and Ron's friends aren't even allowed in the bar
5:14 This week we celebrate the birthday of Donovan. Hail Atlantis! Donovan's daughter is that Ione Skye, she's hot. It's hard to imagine he has that in him.
5:15 It's also Mark Boland's birthday, he of T-Rex. People don't even know who T-Rex is. They probably know the song but they don't know who it is or that Mark started off in John's Children.
5:16 Sometimes Steve thinks Bob and Ron are just here to show off for their imaginary girlfriends. Steve has actually met Ron's girlfriend.
5:17 Ron actually has a new girlfriend. DId he give the old one to Bob? Maybe Bob and Ed should start dating? Bob probably wouldn't live up to Ed's high standards.
5:18 Steve heard that Ron is a guitar player. He's even released a few records. Does Steve want to jam? Let's just start with a few of Ron's so-called internationally acclaimed records.
5:19 The records are only international because Ron gave one to Bob at an IHOP.
5:20 Maybe Bob and Ed should hook up. Just last week Ed told Steve that he would have never left Algonquin if they had had the IHOP that they do now. Maybe they're two pigs in a blanket.
5:21 This week is also the birthday of Dave Mason, who used to live in Chicago.
5:22 Song: Only You Know and I Know, Dave Mason
5:24 Steve remembers when that record came out it was pressed on a weird sort of vinyl that made it look like a bowling ball. That was marbled vinyl but the standard vinyl version is actually worth more money.
5:25 Steve might have that other version in his archives if Bob and Ron haven't pilfered it already.
5:26 When Steve first started out in radio and things weren't really going that well he thought about a fallback career as a studio engineer. One of the guys at the radio station he was working at told him about a class at BYU. Yes, Steve went to BYU. He did his under grad work at UCLA and his graduate work at BYU.
5:27 At the time the class Steve took was world-renowned but he's not sure if it's like that any more. One part of the course was to mix a song together using the masters of all the original instruments.
5:28 One thing Steve learned was that everything you do in a studio sounds stupid until you put it all together. Steve mixed that Dave Mason song for his assignment.
5:29 Steve actually stayed in a dorm at BYU and his roommate was a kid from Joliet. Debbie Reynolds son was also in the class because he was going to engineer her shows in Vegas.
5:30 There were no bars in Provo, Utah so everyone hung out a teen clubs. One time Steve went and Donny Osmond was there dancing. He had a lot more success with the women than Steve did.
5:31 Buzz's lovely wife still has all her Donny Osmond records but she keeps them hidden somewhere.
5:36 Ed Farmer is on the phone. Last night was not as easy as the weekend series against the Angles. Steve's having trouble hearing Ed, can he call back?
5:37 Live read: My Chauffeur
5:38 Alright Ed Farmer is back on the phone, he sounds much better. Maybe it's the dome up in Minnesota.
5:39 That game was very disappointing to Steve. Ed has been in that situation before.
5:40 The Sox should be getting some guys back in the line up off the DL. Uribe will be in there tonight and Thome and Podsednik should be back soon.
5:41 Maybe they should just pitch around Justin Morneau, is that possible?
5:42 Ed was saving this announcement for Steve's show: he's thinking of coming back to pitch. If Clemens can do it and Ricky Henderson can do it why can't he?
5:43 Clemens doesn't go on any road trips with the team which is a sweet deal. There was one game when the Astros were in Pittsburgh and Clemens was on a golf course in California.
5:44 Clemens originally retired to spend time with his family but then he came back to play for the Astros. He also said it's not about the money even though he was getting $18 million per year.
5:45 Now he's back in New York so even when he does stay home from a game he still won't be near his family.
5:46 Steve used to like Clemens but not any more. Ed can feel free to join him on that one.
5:48 Steve will not be out at The Cell this weekend, he has to go back to Des Moines to rehearse with The Nadas.
5:49 He's definitely in for the following Tuesday and Wednesday against the Yankees. Clemens is supposed to be in town then to throw batting practice.
5:50 That Ed Farmer is a funny guy and a fine broadcaster. Someday Steve will be in the booth with him. Steve likes to imagine being in the booth with Ed but he doesn't think it's a good job for him. He can't pay attention to what someone is doing for that long plus he'd say something bad on his first day that would get him drummed out of baseball. Calling a baseball game leaves no time for Steve to digress. Digression is his middle name.
5:57 If a Cubs player really wants to get a beer after a game he can just go across the street or down the block.
5:58 If someone is drunk and does something stupid the only person who should get sued is the person who was drunk. Who cares if it wipes them out financially?

6:00 Song: New York Minute, Don Henley
6:07 Get it? New York Minute, Roger Clemens? That guy's got a great scam going. He's announcing his return from George Steinbrenner's sky box during a game.
6:15 News with Buzz
6:16 Air strikes called in by U.S. coalition forces in Afghanistan killed 21 civilians today.
6:17 Afghanistan's president, Hamad Karzai, said the U.S. needs to do a better job of minimizing civilian casualties. Should he really be talking? They're the ones who couldn't keep the Taliban out in the first place.
6:18 Somali forces in Mogadishu have begun forcibly removing veils from women in an effort to stop insurgent bombers dressed as women.
6:19 It seems like it would take all the fun out of being an insurgent if you were in drag.
6:20 Buzz is using the same cut of Queen Elizabeth from before where you can barely hear what she's saying. Bush sounds fine though. Maybe they couldn't put a lavaliere on the Queen because of her ample bosom.
6:21 Steve was trying to follow the story about the California fire and he thought he heard something about a badly burned man being taken into custody. He also heard the fire was started by a golfer who was trying to put a cigarette out and got burned.
6:22 An Atlanta couple was sentenced to life in prison for the starvation death of their infant child. The couple are vegans and fed the baby a diet of soy milk and apple juice.
6:23 One thing Steve doesn't get about this case is why they didn't just feed the baby regular formula? The baby was 6 months old, don't you just feed them formula at that age?
6:24 It seems like maybe the couple just didn't feed the baby enough food. It seems like you'd be ok with soy milk unless the baby couldn't keep it down. The apple juice seems bad though. It's a sad day when Steve and Buzz are better mothers than these people. They could raise a baby on accident.
6:25 The fire in California's Griffith Park, they recorded Neil Diamond's Hot August Nights album there. Steve was at one of those shows.
6:27 There was some video on Jimmy Kimmel last night from the Phil Spector trial. It showed Spector sitting there listening to some crazed voice mail he left for a girlfriend of his.
6:28 Most people would convict him on that evidence alone.
6:29 A billboard in Chicago that says "Life's short, get a divorce" has been taken down just as fast as it went up.
6:30 Steve needs to take a break and then Buzz can keep going forever. If he doesn't break now we'll be here forever though.
6:38 Ben Gay is here even though Buzz isn't finished. He hates to interrupt before he finishes but he'll just sit here and marvel in Buzz's abilities.
6:39 Fans of the HBO show Entourage do not have to worry about any down time for the show. The season finale will air June 3rd but season 4 will begin 2 weeks later on June 17th.
6:40 Ben loves Entourage, especially that Adrian Grenier fellow. He also likes Jeremy Piven's assistant Lloyd he's a great role model for the gay community.
6:41 Ben feels this news cast is going on forever, it's like a news rape.
6:49 Ben doesn't really have a ton of time to do sports but that's fine. He's just glad to be here and see Buzz.
6:50 OJ Simpson was kicked out of an upscale Louisville steak house on the eve of the Kentucky Derby because the owner is sickened by the attention the former athlete gets. Plus they have those big steak knives there.
6:51 It's good to see OJ out and about enjoying the derby. Is he very well financed or just a leech? It seems like he's a leech. He probably gets up to use the bathroom when the check comes.
6:59 Steve got Matt and Brendan some pastrami sandwiches so they could recover from their big night at Atlantis. They've had all day to recover which is why he didn't get them Reuben's.
7:00 Steve was right about that place though, it was great. The calamari was fantastic too, Matt couldn't stop eating it and he doesn't really like that kind of stuff.
7:01 It's definitely the nicest strip club Matt has ever been too. It was nice than that place he and Brendan went to in Vegas.
7:02 Matt and Brendan have some good stories to tell although not all of them will make it to the air.
