2:02 Steve missed the window to jump in before Stan started his next bit. Steve was sitting there but Tina was putting a coffee down.
2:03 Stan was just marking the anniversary of the first stewardess on a commercial airline flight in 1930. They used to have to be nurses because it was so dangerous to fly.
2:04 Steve knew they had to be nurses and he sort of figured that's why. Meet Stan Lawrence, the smartest man in the world.
2:05 Tommy Skillethead is checking in with some weather. He loves Stan and Terry, they keep it real, they're schtreet as the kids say.
2:06 At 14:49 Zulu time-with all due respect to Stan and Terry that's military time-the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning.
2:07 The storm will be 7 miles southeast of Channahon by 1:55, too late for that sorry. It's also too late to warn people in Elwood where the storm hit at 2:00.
2:08 Radio pitchman Stan Lawrence is wondering if that's the same as L-Wood's restaurant. Has he ever whipped his credit card out and paid for a slab of ribs?
2:09 It'll be very hard for Stan to convert to Islam with his love of pork ribs. L-Wood's does have beef ribs too though.
2:10 Tommy has actually be to several Muslim countries. Those minarets are just begging for a weather radar to be put in them.
2:22 Song: Goodbye Girl, Squeeze
2:25 Steve hasn't heard a Squeeze song since Dan Falato left. He didn't know Pete liked them. Steve hates them.
2:26 When Steve decided to play that song the first person he thought of was Dan. All of their songs sound the same. If Steve wants to listen to 3 songs that sound the same he'll listen to his own catalogue.
2:27 Steve didn't hear the tapes because he was talking to Terry. It was Pete's loving tribute to Gilmore Girls which is ending tonight after 7 seasons. Steve thinks the new PW network will pick up Gilmore Girls. The PW is a new network for guy's like Pete featuring shows that Steve is forced to watch against his will.
2:29 Tommy Skillethead is back with a weather update. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Kankakee County.
2:30 Tommy saw the storm was 7 miles west of Grant Park and he thought he should come back on but it's actually a town south of Peotone.
2:31 It doesn't seem right that a town can call itself Grant Park. All the important stuff happens in Chicago, the other towns show kowtow to us. They should also move the state capitol up here.
2:32 All those politicians just move down there and do whatever they want. That Emil Jones guy is pushing for an increase in the cost of utilities which is totally against the black guy code.
2:33 Caller Terry lives in Grant Park. That's not the Grant Park where they have Lollapalooza. Does he have to have a 100-foot antenna to pick up the station?
2:34 There's a station down in Champaign called WKCG that is now classic rock. It sounds like the old WCKG and they use the same voice guy so it's very confusing. They should become Free FM and start running our show.
2:35 Tommy feels that all the stations in the state that bleed over into the 105.9 signal should be bought up by the company.
2:36 Did Buzz bring his rubbers today? That's not a come-on either, Tommy's just wondering if he brought his raincoat.
2:37 Buzz doesn't have a raincoat, just a very cheap umbrella. Is that a free umbrella he got somewhere?
2:38 Steve stops the commercials because there's a promo running for Friday's broadcast at Yak-Zies. Is Steve missing the magic of a station-wide broadcast?
2:39 Drew's excited about it but what's the big deal? Everyone is together on the station everyday. On Friday it'll be all the same people and it's at Yak-Zies so it's inconvenient and there will be lots of drunks shouting stuff.
2:40 The promos make it sound like we've invented something, "come to Yak-Zies, get your cancer cured!"
2:45 All the weather guys in L.A. have weathery names or geographic names like Johnny Mountain. In Chicago we have Amy Freeze, that has to be fake.
2:46 Steve has reassessed his position on Amy Freeze, she is hot. Steve doesn't get what Fox is doing with their news from 9:00-10:00 and then from 10:00-10:30.
2:47 There's always a bizarre handoff between the 9:00 news and the 10:00 news and then Steve tries to figure out what's being repeated and what isn't. Most of the 9:00 PM news is spent talking about what will be on the 10:00 news. When The Simpsons comes on it's a huge relief.
2:48 Steve can't in good conscience watch the 10:00 news on Fox knowing Ron Magers is on at the same time.
2:49 Caller Kathy's husband is obsessed with Amy Freeze. There was a special about her on Fox and she said that's her real name. She said she went to college to study one thing but then took some classes about weather and fell in love with it.
2:50 Steve doesn't believe that story for a second. She goes to college to become a brain surgeon and then ends up falling in love with weather with a name like Amy Freeze?
2:51 Steve just threw in the brain surgeon part, he doesn't know what she was really there to study. If she had become a brain surgeon she'd be called Amy Brain Freeze.
2:52 Steve just missed a tornado warning on Mark's page. He got involved with a lot of fringe thunderstorm warnings and now it's off the page.
2:53 Even though the tornado warning has passed Steve would still talk about it. It's funny to think that he could have helped people in peril if he had reported it on time.
2:54 Mark Czerniec is on the phone. The tornado warning was cancelled which is why Mark removed it from his page. He was hoping he took it down before Steve noticed but nothing gets past him.
2:55 These are Mark's favorite days, when all the weather warnings come in from all the counties. Steve's better off just not reporting this stuff.
2:56 it was about 102º in Racine earlier today and now it's about 47º so Mark has spent the day opening and closing windows and trying to decide if he should put the AC on two days after Mother's Day. Mark knows Steve doesn't have to worry about temperature because the studio is in a big skyscraper.
2:57 Steve would like a thermostat that knows to turn the heat on if it gets too cold or to turn the AC on if it gets too hot.
2:58 Song: Cheeseburger in Paradise
3:04 That Brant Miller keeps it real because someone has to.
3:05 Live read: Gierczyk Properties
3:06 All the Gierczyk properties come with a one-year membership to the Sand Creek Country Club, which looks really nice. Steve doesn't really like to golf but he likes going to country clubs.
3:07 Steve noticed on his calendar that Buzz will be playing in New Buffalo over Memorial Day weekend.
3:08 That gig was actually cancelled or postponed much to Buzz's disappointment. Steve was going to tell him to stop by since he would have probably been there.
3:09 If someone is going to tell Steve that Buzz is doing that gig then those same people should tell him it's been cancelled. Steve's not blaming Buzz though, he's not expecting that info from him.
3:10 If he's not going to be in New Buffalo he shouldn't show up then because it would probably be awkward.
3:11 Caller Ted can answer any thermostat questions Steve has. Honeywell has a touch-screen thermostat with the auto-changeover capability and an Indiglo display.
3:12 Usually places like Home Depot have big thermostat displays and you can find the ones with the auto-changeover.
3:13 One of the problems with those is that in the winter if it gets too hot on the second floor of your house the thermostat will turn on the AC. Steve doesn't mind that because he never wants to be too hot.
3:14 Ted hosts an open mic night at a bar near his house and he plays bass in a blues band. He enjoys hearing Buzz's musical perspective. Steve is a musician too!
3:15 Ted likes Steve's perspective as well even though he often says the blues suck. Steve just doesn't want to hear two blues songs in a row.
3:16 Steve only says that about the blues to get under Buzz's skin. If he really wanted to do that he'd say the harmonica sucked.
3:17 Buzz thought Indiglo was trademarked by Timex. Maybe they license it out?
3:24 Steve has some stuff he needs to say. He'd like that Ted kid to install his new thermostat even though he's only 24 and lives in Wauconda. He seems to know what he's talking about.
3:25 A lot of the dampers in Steve's duct work have rusted so maybe he could work on those too. He has a passion for his vocation and Steve likes to be around winners.
3:26 Wauconda might be too far but Ted probably won't care. Steve just doesn't want to talk about the blues while he's there or about anything else really. There's an on-air relationship and an off-air relationship.
3:27 Steve and Buzz have the same dynamic. They talk a lot on the air but not much off the air. Today Buzz was talking off the air about a new amp he just bought.
3:28 It's counterproductive to talk too much off the air since Steve and Buzz get paid to talk. You don't want to spill something off-air that you should have saved for on-air.
3:29 Mark Czerniec said that since the station is in a skyscraper our heating and AC is handled by someone else. That's a myth about the big city, they never have anything right in the buildings down here.
3:30 It was boiling today at the gym across the street. Steve pays a lot of money for a membership and he wants to be comfortable. He doesn't want to hear any lame excuses about the building not turning the AC on yet.
3:31 Steve might go over there and fake a mild heart attack at the gym just to teach them a lesson.
3:32 Thirdly, the last attempt Steve made to golf was in Mexico and it was made worse by the fact that he had to go back to his hotel room and get a polo shirt because they didn't allow t-shirts. Never mind the fact that as your golfing you're passing by people living in cardboard shacks.
3:33 So Steve's golf experience was dampened somewhat by all that. He can hit the ball most of the time but every once in a while he misses really big and then gets mad.
3:38 STeve really did not want to go back and change his shirt at the hotel. When he's on vacation he uses the hotel laundry service so he parcels out which shirts he'll be wearing when based on their availability.
3:39 Steve is supposed to go the White Sox game tonight with Matt but he's trying to figure out what the weather is supposed to be like. He doesn't like going if he doesn't know the weather plus he'd like to watch the Bulls game.
3:40 It's supposed to stop raining downtown at 5:00 but Steve doesn't want his seat to get wet. Plus he didn't bring a jacket and it's supposed to be cold.
3:41 Steve doesn't like to cancel on a baseball game with the boys, it feels like bad dadsmanship. He does have season tickets though, it's not like he saved all his money and is going out drinking instead of taking his son to the game.
3:42 Matt might also not want to go to the game because of the weather but he might feel like that's bad sonsmanship. Matt will regret not going to this game after Steve dies. He shouldn't feel that regret though he should just be happy Steve is dead.
3:43 Matt Dahl is on the phone, he's pretty psyched to watch the Bulls game so he doesn't mind staying home.
3:44 Once school is out for Matt plenty of day games will open up for him. Steve sold off a lot of the day game tickets but he could probably get them back.
3:45 Matt recently went to a Sox game with Mike on Mother's Day. They got the pink visors and the pink bats and enjoyed a nice Mother's day buffet with mimosas and big corsages.
3:46 Steve feels really good about the Bulls chances tonight. Something changed on Sunday when they were only up by 7 at the end of the game and then just kicked it in.
3:47 Matt's welcome to come out to the house and watch the game tonight. Matt Dahl is like the Dog Whisperer. Both the dogs sleep in his room with him and don't wake up until about 8:00.
3:48 When they're in Steve's room though they wake him up at 4:00 AM to use the bathroom. This morning Steve had to wake the dogs up at 8:00 to let them out.
3:54 Buzz is not a King of Queens fan but he knows the show ended last night. Steve watched it and he was sad but it was a good episode.
3:55 It didn't end the way Steve expected it to but it was still good. He originally thought it would end with them moving to Manhattan so he wouldn't be the king of Queens any more.
3:56 Steve can see Kevin James being a big movie star because he's physically and he has great timing. He doesn't need to work ever again though because he'll make a ton of money off syndication.
3:57 Did Sylvester Stallone get busted somewhere? Buzz says it was a steroid bust in Australia and he didn't declare the items in his luggage.
3:58 Is Buzz not covering this? Is Australia out of his purview? The story is six weeks old but it's just on TV now.
3:59 Steve's trainer brought it up today and Steve didn't know what he was talking about. He just said drugs though so Steve thought it was heroin or coke.
3:59 Steve doesn't care about steroids. If people want to take them so what? If you want to enhance your performance that's fine because Steve's paying to watch you play.
4:00 The steroids really downsize you though but that's the athlete's problem isn't it?
4:01 Steve just couldn't believe Buzz wasn't all over the story because every time we hear about Stallone we hear about Rambo. It's got Rambo and drugs, how could Buzz not see this?
4:02 Buzz's friend Jake La Botz just appeared as an extra in Rambo IV which is filming in Thailand. Stallone probably had to have his shirt off for a lot of that movie.
4:03 Caller Pat is actually named Chad. Brendan had the wrong name down. Not only is he hard to understand but he's hard of hearing too.
4:04 Chad has the scoop on Mr. Stallone. He had about 50 vials of human growth hormone which has to be cleared ahead of time if you're bringing them into Australia.
4:05 Steve's trainer seemed really excited about the prospect of Stallone facing jail time. He really frowns on the steroids.
4:06 Steve is really disappointed that Buzz wasn't following this story closer. It's got Stallone and drugs what more does he want?
4:07 Buzz has yet to contact The Nadas about a blues song but he will soon. It's going to be one he can sing too. If Buzz picks one of his record we could send them the mp3.
4:08 Buzz is really looking forward to the gig. Steve is too but mainly he's looking forward to it being over.
4:09 Live read: The Little Guys
4:10 Caller Randy is wondering if Steve will put out a live album after the Dahlfins show. He will be recording the shows and he's not opposed to something like that.
4:11 If Steve records all the shows you'll probably be able to buy them at Dahl.com one way or another. Steve's on The Nadas record label but he's not sure he wants to be any more.
4:12 He saw the label's offices and it's an empty warehouse with 4 desks and really old Apple computers.
4:13 Steve's just kidding he loves The Nadas. His own record label has much nicer offices though.
4:17 On the phone is Mark Schanowski from Comcast Sportsnet. He was caught in some bad traffic because of the weather. Why do people forget to drive when it rains?
4:18 The Sox game will probably be played tonight. Right now they've got the tarp on the field but the rest of the rain is supposed to go to the southwest.
4:19 Steve's going to give his tickets up and watch it at home in HD. With the more recent scheduling changes the Yankees only come to Chicago once a year so it's a series everyone looks forward to.
4:20 The Sox have John Danks on the mound which should be interesting since he probably grew up watching them.
4:21 The Cubs are in New York to play the Mets. Last night the Cubs lost the game on 3 straight walks and a hit, all on two outs. The shots of Lou in the dugout were unbelievable.
4:22 Walking in the winning run is the worst. As a fan watching the game you'd rather see a grand slam than a walk. Lou could have brought another pitcher in but the only guy left was Scott Eyre.
4:23 Dusty was there calling the game for ESPN and he had some chances to take shots at the Cubs but he didn't.
4:24 Steve saw something in the Bulls game on Sunday that made him think they'd take it to game 7. The pressure is on the Pistons now because everyone thought they were going to win on Sunday.
4:25 Steve's not saying the Bulls will win the series but it should go to game 7.
4:26 The Bulls aren't that inferior to the Pistons they just haven't played up to potential. If they could start the series over again it would probably be more even.
4:32 Live read: Chicagoland Speedway
4:34 Ed Farmer is on the phone and he wants to drive a dragster. Steve just had to dump Ed because there was someone swearing in the background.
4:35 Ed said that wasn't profanity, someone was grabbing some bats. They only broke 35 of them on the last road trip. That's a lot.
4:36 There's a company in Valparaiso called Hoosier Bats, Steve knows the owner. MLB players are allowed to use those bats but only certain kinds.
4:37 Rawlings actually makes the bats right at spring training for you in the back of a truck. That's pretty sweet.
4:38 When the Sox won the World Series Ed's name was on the bat with all the other players on the team.
4:39 As a pitcher Ed had bats made with his signature on them. Pitchers don't usually get their own bats but Ed asked for some.
4:40 There's a 7:11 start time on the game tonight. There's supposed to be a window of nice weather between 7:00-11:00 tonight so hopefully it gets done.
4:41 It would be nice to get John Danks his second win against the Yankees. Every kid probably grows up dreaming of beating the Yankees. Ed did at least because he's a Sox fan and he hates the Yankees.
4:42 Ed once got traded to the Yankees but didn't report to the team. He had 48 hours to make his own deal and he ended up with the Phillies.
4:43 Steve has to play Ed's intro because he's sponsored. Ed doesn't want to hear it thought but we have to do it.
4:44 Since Ed's segment is sponsored Drew asked him what he wanted and he got a dinette set. Ed had to go to Home Depot to pick it up and pay for the shipping.
4:45 They wouldn't ship it to LA for some reason. That's how Drew works though. The furniture came from Arizona but Drew needs it to come through here.
4:46 Drew's team is the Yankees maybe Steve should give him the tickets for tonight. Roger Clemens will not be in Chicago with the Yankees because he doesn't go on road trips. It's not about the money for him though.
4:47 The Sox haven't been hitting well lately. On Sunday the Royals had 5 hits in the 9th and the Sox had 3 in the entire game.
4:48 Some people are starting to blame Greg Walker, the hitting coach, for the team's hitting woes. He was with the team in 2005 though so it's not his fault.
4:49 Ed Farmer is very troubled by the Roger Clemens deal. To him it's like the Howard Stern/Sirius deal. He's getting a half a billion dollars for his Sirius show.
4:55 Headlines with Buzz
4:56 The bad news, the Reverend Jerry Falwell has died. He was found unconscious in his office this morning and was taken to the hospital.
4:57 Al Sharpton is mourning Falwell, even though they were politically opposed. They have a lot in common though, they're both guys who will say crazy things just to get on TV.
4:58 Jerry is probably having in interesting day what with meeting his maker and all. He's probably in for a few surprises.
4:59 The country's angriest drivers are in MIami according to a new survey. Steve can see that. There are a lot of drug-fueled hotheads and old people on the road, it's a dangerous combination.
5:00 Paris Hilton has been captured on film smoking a marijuana cigarette. Steve has seen her smoking way worse. She was at a concert so what's the big deal?
5:01 Are Steve and Pete going to get high at the Arcade Fire show? Pete doesn't do that, he's a square. Jim and his black girlfriend probably do though.
5:02 Could Pete turn that TV down a bit? Steve always feels like he's walking into Pete's basement while he's watching TV nude with a bowl of Cheetos.
5:03 Steve had someone from the office call over to Jam Productions. Initially they thought he wanted 4 different aisle seats and they were willing to do that. They did get him 4 tickets for the Arcade Fire show with one on the aisle.
5:04 The seating arrangement will go Steve, Jim kid's black girlfriend, Jim and then Pete. That way she can compare things on either side of her and wonder what the fat old man is doing sitting next to her.
5:05 Pete actually did have aisle seats but he didn't realize it until he checked the seating chart. He probably should have done that earlier but now Steve has 4 tickets in the 4th row.
5:06 Now that the seats are that close Steve won't be near the hot dancing chicks. Maybe as they're all rushing to the front he'll be able to feel them up as he helps them on stage.
5:07 Steve didn't really care about being that close to the stage he just needed to be on an aisle because he has a going problem. Now all the fun of getting the tickets has been taken away by Pete realizing he has aisle seats.
5:08 Pete better not being dancing like a spazzy white guy at a wedding though, Steve doesn't want to see that.
5:09 Steve and Pete will be at Yak-Zies on Friday and then they'll take a limo to the show, it'll be very romantic. The show starts at 7:30 so they should have plenty of time to get there. Isn't there an opener?
5:10 Pete doesn't see anything on his tickets about an opener. For a guy who says he knows a lot about music and concerts he doesn't seem to know much.
5:11 The opening band is St. Vincent. Pete has never heard of them which is perfect for him.
5:17 Before we go back to Buzz with the headlines Steve needs to make a call. There's a poser in our midst.
5:18 Drew's not even here any more. Steve offered him tickets to the Sox game tonight because the Yankees are his team. He can't use them though.
5:19 Steve called Drew's cellphone and then he picked up and walked into the studio. That's a great bit but Steve is only talking to him on the phone when he's in his office.
5:20 Drew is walking through the sales area right now bragging that he's on the air. He used to be on the air all the time but being on the air is for losers.
5:21 Drew is in his office now. Steve calls his office line because the quality is not great. He doesn't have a good phone which isn't shocking.
5:22 Drew has a Blackberry so he can look cool but he probably just uses it to email Dan his Quizno's order.
5:23 Drew is going home to watch the Sox and Bulls game with his son tonight. Can't he take his son to the Sox game? Just send a car for him! Why do people laugh at Steve when he solves their problems?
5:24 Drew talks a big game about the Yankees and his kid but when it comes down to it he won't go to the game. This is the second and final time Steve will offer tickets to Drew, two strikes and you're out.
5:25 A new study reveals that men who take too many vitamins increase their risk of prostate cancer. That sounds like one of those fake studies that always come out.
5:26 O & A have been suspended from their XM show for 30 days. What's the point of having satellite radio if you're going to suspend people for content?
5:27 Why doesn't XM just admit that they're suspending O & A because they're trying to merge their failing enterprise with another failing enterprise and they don't want the FCC to get in the way.
5:28 The Soup Nazi is coming to Chicago. Al Yageneh, the man behind the Soup Nazi character on Seinfeld is opening a soup stand/ice cream restaurant in Chicago. It's in conjunction with Cold Stone Creamery.
5:29 Looks like the Cold Stone people finally realized that you can't sell ice cream in the winter. Steve likes ice cream year-round but there are a whole group of people who will only eat it on hot days. That doesn't make any sense though since dairy isn't very refreshing when it's hot out.
5:30 Will they pour the soup on a hot stone and allow you to pick different ingredients like carrots and peas?
5:34 It's time now for the 24 Report with Jeff Schwartz. All Steve has to say is oy vey! He didn't even see 24 last night, he's been having TiVo problems.
5:35 Steve and his TiVo do not see eye-to-eye on certain things like what he wants recorded. His TiVo does not understand him.
5:36 Do we need to keep talking about 24 since no one cares about it? There are two more hours left but that's two too many.
5:37 Buzz's interest in 24 has been renewed somewhat over the last few weeks.
5:38 Jeff still feels that James Cromwell is the ultimate bad guy. He wants to take his grandson to China to start a new life.
5:39 Now that Buzz hears all that again it does sound really stupid. Jeff was expecting the big reveal this week that the grandson was really Jack's son.
5:40 Jeff's prediction for the final two hours is Russia getting ready to attack the U.S.
5:41 Buzz thinks Powers Boothe will launch a pre-emptive strike on Russia and then that will be the next season.
5:42 Steve is obsessed with the fact that Drew won't just drive to pick his son up and take him to the Sox game. Then he could listen to the Bulls game on the radio. He has that little radio that he carries around with him at Bears games.
5:43 Steve would like to see better sound for the Bulls games next year. FM is in stereo and the games should be too. The NBA should install high-quality phone lines in all the venues so it'll sound really tricked out.
5:44 Steve's only talking about this with Jeff to drive Drew nuts. How does Jeff feel about The Package?
5:45 Jeff would like to see the Ricky Schroeder character kill Jack Bauer in the last episode and then he becomes the new Jack.
5:46 Steve doesn't think that's too far-fetched. If he were Keifer Sutherland he'd be sick of doing 24.
5:54 The end of King of Queens was sad for Steve because it was his favorite show. Plus there was that failed attempt to be on the show once.
5:55 Live read: Draper & Kramer
5:56 What's a multiple-family loan? Would that be like if Steve and Buzz go up to New Buffalo and Buzz gets hammered and then Jim Gierczyk talks them into buying a place. Steve doesn't need to be hammered, he's naturally acquisitional.
5:57 Draper & Kramer would help them get a loan that would be in both Steve and Buzz's name. You don't want Steve's name on the mortgage because he's screw you. He wouldn't even do it on purpose and then Buzz and Aimee would be out in the cold.
5:58 At the end of King of Queens there was a definite finish to the storyline which Steve was fine with. There was still 7 minutes left according to the TiVo so they came back from break with a really nice montage of moments from the last 8 seasons. Steve feels that when Buzz starts watching reruns of King of Queens, maybe in the nursing home, he'll really like it.
5:59 Song: Milk & Honey, Million Billion
6:02 King of Queens was funny right up until the end. The sitcom is the perfect form of American TV. All the benchmark shows in TV history have been comedies. Sure occasionally you get a Dallas but do you really remember anything about that?
6:03 Steve blogged about all this today. He also said that he's proud of Pat Dahl for working in the sitcom industry.
6:04 Eventually sitcoms will make a comeback when people get sick of reality TV. TV execs are always behind the curve of what the American public wants though.
6:05 There was a woman on hold who had info about multi-family loans. She said it's for buildings with several units in them. Maybe she hung up because she didn't know what she was talking about.
6:06 The woman called back but from the way Brendan described it it seemed like she didn't know what she was talking about. It could be Brendan though.
6:07 Caller Joan sells real estate. Multi-family loan usually refers to something that will become rental property like an apartment building. There are loans for dual occupancy houses though.
6:09 Caller George is in Woodstock where things are great but far away. It's nice up there, they've got a gazebo right in the center of town. Steve saw Groundhog Day, he knows what goes on up there.
6:10 Every year they have a celebration for the groundhog and there are plaques everywhere that mark places where Bill Murray was standing. Dan Falato probably put all those up though.
6:11 George recently watched a special about I Love Lucy and according to that Desi Arnez invented the three-camera sitcom in front of a live studio audience.
6:12 Jackie Gleason was sort of doing that on The Honeymooners but Desi came up with the idea of moving the cameras around between sets.
6:13 Caller Roger wanted to let Steve know that Desi also invented reruns and residuals. He asked the studio for tapes of the old shows which was unheard of at the time.
6:14 Roger is also Cuban, they had everything right. The Cubans also have those medianoche sandwiches that always kick Steve's ass. They've also got the hot Cuban women.
6:15 Roger doesn't want to talk about his daughters now. That was sort of creepy. Steve feels like he has to register as a sex offender now.
6:22 Steve has a mouthful of Sugar Babies, Buzz needs to fill for him. He probably has about 20 in his mouth now, it'll take another 30 seconds to get through them.
6:23 News with Buzz
6:24 American finally has it's very own War Czar, Lt. General Douglas Lute. What is he going to do exactly?
6:25 War Czar sounds very dictatorial. Although our Drug Czar really did wonders on that war on drugs.
6:26 Jerry Falwell, former head of the Moral Majority, has died at the age of 73.
6:27 The former head of Liberty University remembers Falwell as a supreme jokester. Whenever they were going through a revolving door Jerry would stop it and the person would smack into the glass.
6:28 Well Jerry's meeting his maker today and it's probably going to be nothing like he predicted it would be. Although if it is then Steve's in big trouble.
6:30 A man wearing a form-fitting body suit was chased through the capitol building by police officers. He was finally caught but not charged as he committed no crime.
6:31 What kind of body suit was it? Was it related to Spider-Man in some way? It has to be.
6:32 Buzz still hasn't seen that Comcast commercial with the Spider-Man fan. It's just funny to Steve that he doesn't watch any live TV.
6:33 Recently the 6-year old asked if she could watch some live TV. Buzz only has one kid, he doesn't have to refer to her as the 6-year old. She probably knows about all the great commercials out there and want to actually see one.
6:35 Denise Richards has split with boyfriend Richie Sambora.
6:36 If Steve were a Hollywood dude he wouldn't be hooking up with any Hollywood women who have been with other Hollywood dudes. It would drive him nuts. Imagine if you had to follow Tommy Lee!
6:37 Steve is probably a better boat driver than Tommy Lee though.
6:44 We've got the Bulls game tonight which means a hard end. Buzz loves the hard ends.
6:45 In the meantime Steve is going to take some random phone calls.
6:46 Live read: Balance for Life
6:47 Steve has one more he needs to do before Random Phone Calls. He doesn't want it to get away from him with the hard end.
6:48 Live read: Townstone Financial
6:49 Today's live read is about Pete and Mary who are looking to buy a house. That seems inappropriate. Maybe Steve should send Mary's husband to deal with that one.
6:50 This scenario involves "Pete" having bad credit and not being able to get his name on the loan. That seems like a bad way to sell it to guys "call me up and I'll belittle you in front of your woman." David is also taking liberties with the names of people on Steve's staff.
6:56 Steve apologizes for starting a segment he couldn't finish but the Bulls game has to start right at 7:00. History has to be made!
