2:04 Terry is having laser surgery today and he's supposed to sleep all day today and rest all weekend. That won't be hard for Terry at all.
2:05 Marion Brooks is in the studio with Stan filling in Terry. Steve knows Marion, he's been the news before and she's covered it.
2:06 Marion only came in for the last hour of the show. Stan didn't want to impose and ask her to do the entire show with him.
2:07 Steve has figured out a trick they use at NBC. No matter how old the story is, everyone calls it "developing". Even if it's a week old it's still "developing"
2:08 Buzz is an NBC guy. Steve does watch the 5:00 PM news. If he had a Nielsen box it would show that. Stan likes to watch the 4:30 because it's all the people he knows. Was that a name drop from Stan?
2:09 Steve did watch the 10:00 PM news last night because the basketball game was on ABC. Larry Wert was on again, accepting some award. He's on that NBC news almost as much as Jesse Jackson is.
2:10 Steve thinks Larry is coloring his hair again. He's always doing the aw-shucks thing too, like he doesn't want to be on the news.
2:11 Today is Bike to Work day in Chicago. Stan was wondering if Steve was going to bicycle up this summer.
2:12 Steve has a bike but he won't be biking to work. That would be really dangerous on the Stevenson, he can't pedal that fast.
2:13 Stan thought Steve was bringing his boat over to Chicago too. Stan just wants Steve to be involved with Chicago this summer.
2:14 Steve is bringing his boat over but there are a few things you have to do to dock in Chicago. You need to get a macerator to grind up all the waste before you dump it. No wonder why the beaches are always closing.
2:15 When Steve gets his boat over here he'll take Stan out for a nice ride. Stan is boat-curious but he doesn't know that much about them. Most people who have boats don't ever take them out.
2:16 Marion is getting a call or a voicemail, she might actually have to leave. She does still have a story to do. Is that a developing story?
2:17 There's a caller on hold about this boat stuff but Steve doesn't want to take it if Marion has to go. He doesn't want to mess up their goodbye.
2:18 Stan considers Marion a friend so this is like she's just hanging out. Stan says that about everyone until they get the restraining order.
2:28 Song: Son of a Son of a Sailor, Jimmy Buffett
2:31 That's Son of a Son of a Son of a Son of a Sailor right there. Steve's going to talk boats in a little bit but before that he has something to read.
2:32 Live read: Cheeseburger in Paradise
2:33 Cheeseburger in Paradise makes a great Key Lime pie. Like when Key Lime was invented in Florida, that's what it tasted like. Also for Stan, Jamaican apple crisps.
2:34 Steve didn't know Jamaica was known for their apple crisps. The next time he's in Jamaica he'll be sure to have one after he finishes his goat burger.
2:35 Today would be a great day to go to Cheeseburger in Paradise. At the one in Downers Grove they have this big garage door-style windows that roll open.
2:36 Steve was talking about boats with Stan earlier. He probably could call Stephanie in the office and ask her about his boat. He keeps asking her what the deal is with his boat and she keeps saying they're waiting on the macerator.
2:37 Caller Skip (great boat name) wanted to let Steve know that a macerator or a maciator is like a blender for all the waste in your boat. You're not allowed to dump it in the lake though.
2:38 Steve has a macerator but it was deactivated. Not that he would ever dump anything in the lake but it's good to have a rule anyway.
2:39 Skip has his boat in the Chain-o-Lakes. Steve would like to see a channel built from Lake Michigan to the Chain.
2:40 That wouldn't really work because the channel would drain into Lake Michigan. Sounds like Steve could work for the Army Corps of Engineers!
2:41 Stephanie told Steve three weeks ago that that they're still waiting on the macerator. How long can that take to get hooked up? Steve needs to macerate, he's a chronic macerator.
2:42 Stan and Terry were thinking of getting a boat together. That sounds like a bad idea. Stan will probably end up paying for everything and doing everything on the boat.
2:43 Stan can come on Steve's boat when he gets it over here but he should use the bathroom before he comes on board. Stan's willing to go off the side of the boat.
2:44 This is probably a good day to talk boats, ay Captain Buzzy? Steve's favorite Captain Buzzy story is when he was sailing with some of his friends, saw a school of dolphins and jumped off the boat to swim after them.
2:45 Of course Buzz was the only person on the boat who knew how to sail. He was out showing his friend the ropes, probably coping a nice downwind lean.
2:46 Buzz was attempting to make a dolphin noise to attract the dolphins but at some point they were outpacing him. Then he turned around and saw the boat going over the horizon.
2:47 The sails were set so the boat was hauling. Luckily someone had the foresight to untie all the sails so they slowed down.
2:48 Coincidentally or not that was the last time any of Buzz's friends went sailing with him.
2:49 Buzz jumped in to follow the dolphins because he had a vision of a life with the dolphins. That's how mermaids get the sailors into the water.
2:52 Caller Dale is going at a rapid pace. Let's slow down, Steve is here until 7:00. Dale lives in Antioch on the Chain which is where Steve will be broadcasting from in July.
2:53 If you boat in the Chain you need a Waterway Management User sticker. You can get a year-long pass or a one or two day pass. Steve probably won't be boating up there because he doesn't have a trailer.
2:54 Steve's counting on Chicago Searay to bring him a boat for the broadcast. Steve can't back-up a car with a trailer on it, it's the most embarrassing thing you'll ever see. He's not sure if it's because he's left-handed or just stupid but he can't do it.
2:55 Dale has some info about the macerator too. They probably need to disconnect it so that you can't dump into the lake. Steve's going to call Stephanie and ask her about it.
2:56 If Steve doesn't want to talk about boats any more Dale can talk about dolphins with Buzz. Buzz jumping off the boat was actually illegal. It doesn't matter, Buzz did that about 30 years ago.
2:57 Dale sounds like one of those guys who just hangs out ont he back of his boat telling everyone else what they're doing wrong.
2:58 Live read: Fitness Factory Outlet
2:59 Steve's going to call up to the office and see what's happening with his macerator. Stephanie answers "Steve Dahl's office", nice!
3:00 Steve had to have his macerator disconnected or deactivated. There was also a sanitation report that came with it so Dale was probably right. It sounds like they don't trust Steve to not dump in the lake.
3:01 The hole for the macerator is very similar to the hole for the gas tank. It's a lot like when you have an RV.
3:02 Steve got himself a sweet rock case for his amp and a matching briefcase to hold pedals and guitar strings. Stephanie just got the stencils for that so he can put his name on it.
3:03 Steve doesn't know where we found Stephanie but she was a good find.
3:04 Why do they even have macerators on a boat? It doesn't seem like you should have that option. Steve's usually not on his boat for too long anyway but he'd never dump anything in the water.
3:05 Steve does occasionally make boat runs from Cuba but those guys can hold it. Then all they have to do is touch dry land in American and they're here. That's a pretty sweet deal for them too.
3:06 That just shows how powerful the Cuban community is in America that they can get that kind of law passed.
3:07 The Haitians don't have the same thing going though. They've tried but it doesn't work. They're better off stopping in Cuba and getting papers saying they're from there.
3:10 Today when you hear the Jimmy Buffett intro for Fins be the 10th caller and win VIP passes for the broadcast at the Blarney Island.
3:11 Brendan had the Landshark beer guy on hold but he had to clear the lines for the contest. This will all be fixed when we get the contest line, which Steve demanded in his meeting with Drew today.
3:12 The contest line will also be answered by people in the promotions department. Drew pointed out that if they do that they won't be able to put the callers on the air. We never do that anyway though and if Steve really wants to talk to them we can get their number and call them back.
3:13 The wet foot, dry foot policy is a consequence of the 1995 revision of the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966. It says that anyone who flees Cuba to come here will be allowed to pursue residence a year later.
3:14 The Clinton administration had talks with Cuba and agreed to stop admitting people found at sea. So they just let them float on then?
3:15 When Steve was down at the Shorty's BBQ it was muy Cubano.
3:16 That Landshark guy never called back. Until we get the contest line Brendan shouldn't hang up on any callers.
3:17 Steve wants to give away tickets to all this stuff but when there's a Dahlfins show, people are calling in during every break.
3:18 People will probably still call the regular line at first but eventually they'll get used to the new number. Stan thinks Steve is an innovator with this contest line, it doesn't seem like any other station has it.
3:19 Does Drew think Steve would put every single Dahlfins ticket winner on the air? If it's a really big prize we can call them back.
3:20 Whenever Stan takes a call he has to say "You're in the air with Stan and Terry on Chicago's FM Talk Station." He also has to give the phone number out of every break.
3:21 The Landshark guy hasn't called back but he was going to say that he's had the beer and it's good. That's not surprising though. The beer will be featured at the Blarney Island broadcast.
3:22 Also at the Blarney Island broadcast, Buzz will be doing a wet t-shirt contest every 15 minutes. He was already at Home Depot looking at garden hoses and nozzles. Steve told him to get the nozzle with 4 or 5 different patterns on it.
3:26 The phones are completely dead after that contest which really bugs Steve. He got on Drew about it this morning, but not physically leave that to Buzz.
3:27 Steve's been talking to Drew on the phone lately which seems to work better. He still comes down here because he wants to see Steve and touch him. He's like Tommy.
3:28 Live read: Illinois Lottery
3:29 Steve was hoping to buy some tickets for the Millions game but they're not on sale yet. That can't be. Who said that, Tina?
3:30 Tickets don't go on sale until Monday. That should be in the copy. Steve was all ready to buy tickets too! He has a c-note in his wallet and he was looking to increase his odds.
3:31 Steve is a lotto subscriber, they draw 3 times a week. You pay with a credit card and buy a subscription one year at a time and then tickets with your numbers are purchased for you automatically. You can also have random numbers picked for you. Steve should probably do that too.
3:32 Buzz might have to sign up for a subscription. Will he go quick-pick or does he have specific numbers?
3:33 It seems like quick-pick people win more than people who have their own numbers but that's probably just because people don't take the time to pick their own numbers.
3:34 Steve went with everyone's birthday in his family except his. Although it seems like 11 and 20 come up a lot so who does Steve drop?
3:35 Steve should probably just stick with the numbers he's been using every week since he's been doing it for 2 years. If those numbers were ever winners and he had changed them Steve would have to blow his brains out.
3:36 Steve might have to send someone at midnight on Monday to beat the rush of people buying tickets for the Million drawing. Maybe that'll be Tina's job.
3:42 We're going to talk to Billy Jack from Comcast. Right now he's laying down some audio.
3:43 Buzz is wondering if the Sox are still losing. Are we going to have baseball talk now? The Sox didn't lose last night but only because they didn't play.
3:44 Billy Jack was just finishing up a story about Muhsin and his wife who are going to Ethiopia to adopt a child. Steve's never met Moose but he really likes him.
3:45 Wait, Steve did meet him at the convention this year and he was nice. He was showing off his website with his line of jewelry. It was all very nice but a white guy couldn't pull it off. Buzz feels he good though.
3:46 The Sox are on a really bad run right now which has people looking forward to football season, unless you're a Cubs fan too. Steve is not though.
3:47 The Cubs won today. They're playing some pretty good baseball lately. Billy Jack's been saying for a while that they should have left Felix Pie up in the majors and just let him play.
3:48 A lot of people are saying that the new catcher Koyie Hill is handling the catchers much better than anyone else. They're 5-1 with him as catcher.
3:49 Michael Barrett was catching today but who was pitching? Steve saw someone get some shaving cream to the face. Pete says that was Mike Fontenot, he had a home run in the game.
3:50 That kid looks like Craig Biggio because his batting helmet is way too big for him.
3:51 Earlier in the week Comcast had a story about Devin Hester switching to offense. It's still really exciting when he gets the ball.
3:52 The Bears also signed Brendan Ayanbadejo's brother Obafemi this week. He's basically a carbon-copy of his younger brother and he's a great player.
3:53 They were both born in Chicago and now they're reunited back here. That whole family has a really cool story. They were born here then moved to California to get away from their bad neighborhood.
3:54 Lovie always talks about having good people on your team and if you have good people you'll be a good team.
3:55 Garrett Wolfe was also talking about that earlier in the week. Everyone on the team has been really nice to him as a rookie.
3:56 Steve loves Billy Jack and Billy Jack loves what he's doing. He loves the Bears too. Buzz needs to promise to watch the Comcast post-game coverage next season, it's a glimpse into the game that you don't get anywhere else.
3:57 Comcast isn't allowed to use any highlights from the game either but that doesn't even matter.
3:58 Steve might take Buzz to a Bears game this year. Buzz will really enjoy the Steve Dahl Bears game experience.
3:59 Live read: DeWalt
4:02 Caller Jim has been on hold for a while. First of all he wanted to wish Steve and Buzz a happy Father's Day.
4:03 The greatest gift Steve will be getting for Father's Day is Matt Dahl graduating. That means no more tuition to pay. Steve still doesn't believe he's graduating though, he probably went to a costume store and got a cap and gown.
4:04 Jim wanted to invite Steve to his town's sesquicentennial celebration in Newman, Illinois this weekend. Will there be any corn-eating contests?
4:05 Steve doesn't think he'll be able to make it but it sounds like fun. Jim's heading back down to Newman right now, he's a truck driver.
4:06 Jim was thinking of Steve when he was backing his trailer up today. Steve can't back his car up when he has a trailer on the back.
4:07 When Steve was on Rt. 66 with the boys they had to stay at KOA campgrounds with a pull-through because Steve couldn't back that thing up either.
4:08 Then they eventually got sick of campgrounds and stayed at a hotel. As Steve was backing up the RV he almost killed a family of 5.
4:09 Jim seemed very congenial. Steve felt like he was doing Prairie Home Companion although that festival doesn't sound half-bad. Steve's weekend will be spent searching forest preserves for Lisa Stebic so he won't be able to make it.
4:10 Live read: Famous Dave's
4:11 They're still not putting all 7 sauces in the live read copy. Who's Ewers? She's the AE on this one. That's Meredith. Are we going to have to put her through the spanking machine?
4:12 Buzz doesn't know Meredith. She's the one who looks like Buzz's wife. All of the sudden the spanking machine sounds good, as well as the Buzz-o-matic.
4:13 Actually all 7 sauces are listed in the copy. She can still come down for the spanking machine if she wants.
4:14 The last time Steve did a Famous Dave's live read he was talking about the chipotle sauce. He said growing up that he didn't know about the chipotle pepper but did know about other peppers.
4:15 As it turns out chipotles are what they call smoked jalapeño peppers. Steve some how ended up watching The Next Food Network Star where he learned about the chipotle pepper. Steve thinks the tall, bald guy is going to win. There's also a Samoan guy and a cute black girl.
4:16 Steve was talking to Pat Dahl while it was on so he paused his TiVo. That's a great way to watch Food Network because every show is half commercials.
4:17 Steve had never heard of the chipotle until about 5 years ago. Now it's everywhere. He's got chipotle-flavored Coke in front of him.
4:18 It's a fun word to say too. Buzz is just glad he finally knows how to say it.
4:21 Steve got a 10-second cue, was there a gap between the tape? Pete might be a little distracted because he has Lowen & Navarro in his studio.
4:22 Caller Nina has some info about The Next Food Network Star. The cute black girl got cut last night but she also thinks the tall, bald guy will win.
4:23 Last night they all had to do presentations for Giada DeLaurentis and they sort of ran out of time once they got to the bald guy. Nina was watching because he husband likes Giada.
4:24 Steve thought Nina said her husband likes Jag, the Samoan guy. That seemed very inappropriate to him.
4:25 Steve is sort of distracted trying to find out where chipotle peppers came from. He's going to put Mark on it and move on. It probably came from Central Mexico and most likely Rick Bayless has something to do with it.
4:26 Buzz thought it was Rick Balis who used to run The Loop. He only brings that up because he's back in town now.
4:27 Buzz really needs to stop reading Feder's column. All he knows about is what's happening in radio and he doesn't even really care about that. Then he works the names of people in the column into the show. If there's something Buzz needs to know, Steve will tell him.
4:28 Steve had to think about who Rick Balis was when he was reading the column and then he remembered the guy was an idiot. He was programming an rock station and wearing a suit to work.
4:29 Buzz's two sources of news are Feder's column and channel 5 and that's not good. Even Marion Brooks seemed a little embarrassed about that.
4:30 Live read: Fitness Factory Outlet
4:31 Headlines with Buzz
4:32 Caller Jason has some jalapeño info. Remember when Buzz thought that Rick Bayless the chef was the same guy who used to program The Loop? Is Feder's column on the front page of Buzz's Sun-Times?
4:33 Chipotle's are smoked jalapeño peppers. Whenever you smoke or a dry any type of pepper the name changes. Has the chipotle been around forever?
4:34 Most chipotle peppers come from Chihuahua, Mexico. They also make a good cheese there, and little dogs too.
4:35 Steve likes chipotles, he's just never heard of them until recently. He didn't hear much about jalapeños either.
4:36 Steve's never been to Chipotle because it's like a Subway for Mexican food. There are too many options for the customer to choose from as he's going down the line.
4:37 Jason knows about all of this stuff because he used to work at a hydroponic supply store. They would demonstrate their equipment by growing peppers and basil. Is basil in quotes?
4:38 This just in, David Hasselhoff has been awarded custody of his two kids. Even with the hamburger-on-the-floor tape? You gotta wonder what his wife has been up to.
4:39 Nicole Richie is reportedly pregnant with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden's child. Does Buzz mean bastard child?
4:40 Caller Greg has some more chipotle info. The earlier known records of the chipotle goes back to the 1500s and the Aztecs. So Rick Bayless probably just went and found them in Mexico.
4:41 Steve always sees Rick Bayless working out, he could totally beat him in a weightlifting contest. If he ever wants to throw down, they could have a lift-off.
4:42 Rick's restaurant Frontera Grill opened on the same day as Hat Dance, pretty much dooming it. Hat Dance was really good but it kept getting compared to Frontera.
4:43 Greg is a hot sauce collector, which seems weird. Does he ever eat the hot sauce? A lot of the stuff Greg has are food additives that he has to sign a release to purchase. It would be funny to put some on Buzz's nachos.
4:44 One trick that Buzz and his friends used to play on other kids was to trick them into eating a sandwich that had a lot of hot sauce on them. Then when their mouth was on fire they'd hand the kid a glass of mineral water, which they'd always chug. If things worked out perfectly the person would throw up.
4:45 Does Greg have all the sauce on display right in his living room? Like if Steve and Buzz came over would they be freaked out?
4:46 Greg's sauces are in his room, he lives with his parents. He's only 22 and going to school right now. Does his dad ever come into his room and demand he get rid of all the hot sauce?
4:47 The big thing in hot sauces right now is a newly discovered pepper from Asia. It hits 1,000,000 Scovilles which is a measure of capsaicin in the pepper. Before that the hottest was a type of habañero pepper at 500,000 Scovilles.
4:48 That's a really weird hobby that Greg has there.
4:54 NBC's 10:00 PM news won some sort of award for the best in the city. Even Allison Rosati knew that wasn't right.
4:55 Larry Wert got himself on the NBC news again last night. He's on more than the anchors. He should have to join the union.
4:56 Buzz enjoyed the segue from that story to Brant Miller. Allison asked Brant what he thought and of course he was speechless. So he just made a bad segue that had nothing to do with the awards ceremony.
4:57 Song: Off to See the Lizard, Jimmy Buffett
5:00 Pete has the entire segue if Buzz wants to hear it again. It's like Buzz is teaching a broadcasting class today, he's Mr. Inside Radio.
5:01 Buzz was right, that's a great segue. Brant Miller is a genius.
5:02 It's time for the Five O'Clock Taco Bell. We're reaching the last days of the extreme cheese and beef quesadilla, which is what Steve is having today. Steve also sent one down to Drew to keep him away from the studio.
5:03 The quesadilla is so big that he probably had to have Dan help him lift it off the desk. Drew is on the phone, it was so nice to walk into his office and find a quesadilla.
5:10 Lowen & Navarro are here and they're doing good. They're always good when they're in Chicago. They picked a good weekend because things have been touch-and-go on the weekends here.
5:11 Lowen & Navarro are headlining Taste of Randolph on Sunday but Steve doesn't have to tell Buzz that because they go every year. Randolph tastes like chicken.
5:12 Is Steve doing a song with Lowen & Navarro? Because he doesn't need to jam rape them. He heard them rehearsing the song and it sounded fine without him.
5:13 Dan's cousins Dave Navarro from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. What's with that guy? Is he that weird at Navarro family picnics? Does he wear the black nail polish to the family gatherings?
5:14 Steve only recently learned that Dave Navarro was only on one Red Hot Chili Peppers album
5:15 Steve has been told by his staff that Nicole Richie is only rumored to be pregnant. Buzz is reporting it as news.
5:16 Buzz is pretty sure he said "reportedly". Steve doesn't really care, Tina is the one who's up in arms about it. Buzz is her news mentor after all.
5:17 Steve was checking Buzz's facts on TMZ, why do they call Kim Kardashian Tushy? Is it because she has a big ass/
5:18 Steve's guitar doesn't have a strap but he doesn't want to borrow Dan or Eric's. He has his own strap, can't someone get it?
5:19 Steve and Lowen & Navarro perform Aloha Friday.
5:23 Steve needs to run back to the studio now. Perhaps a little running music to accompany him?
5:29 Lowen & Navarro are here and they're playing the Taste of Randolph on Sunday night. Guess where that is? It's on Randolph, just east of the Kennedy.
5:30 In California they're called freeways, it took a long time for Steve go get used to it. He didn't really understand why they called them freeways until he got here and they had tollways.
5:31 Eric is doing well, around his neighborhood he's known as the crazy guy in the wheelchair with the hat. Eric has ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. He's lobbying to have it changed to Eric Lowen's Disease.
5:32 It's humbling for Steve to see Eric handling his disease. If Steve had ALS he'd be mad all the time.
5:33 Lowen & Navarro perform Small Town Saturday Night from their album Hoggin' the Covers.
5:38 Hoggin' the Covers isn't on iTunes yet but it should be on Amazon soon. You can get it at their website, LowNav.com
5:39 It's pretty hard to get your songs on iTunes so they're working on it. Yesterday Steve got an email from iTunes about upgrading all of his purchased music to iTunes plus.
5:40 Steve thought about doing it since it's only 30¢ per song. Then he realized he has over 2,000 songs.
5:46 Lowen & Navarro are here with Phil Parlapiano. There's also some giant dude, is that the road manager?
5:47 Lowen & Navarro met as singing waiters. They were struggling musicians trying to make something happen in California.
5:48 They were working at the Great American Food & Beverage Company, they had some really bad ribs. Were they advertised like that?
5:49 Part of the gig was they had to sing pop songs for the customers while they waited for their food.
5:50 Steve has a question for Lowen & Navarro. They were on the WGN noon news and they closed out the show with a song. They never time it out right so the song always gets cut off.
5:51 Lowen & Navarro were playing and noticed that everyone was paying attention to them while they were playing. Then halfway through everyone just walked away.
5:52 This August will be the 20th anniversary of Lowen & Navarro. They've had a fan club for a long time but they're going to be dissolving it.
5:53 Now that they have a website they don't really need to send out newsletters or CDs to fan club members.
5:54 Lowen & Navarro play Don't Believe in Yesterday from a new album they'll start recording this summer, their 11th.
5:59 Lowen & Navarro will start recording their new album right after their 20th anniversary concerts in Altadena.
6:00 Steve actually lived in Altadena when he was growing up. The concerts are at a venue on Lake Street, Steve used to zip right down that to go to work at his first radio job in Pasadena.
6:01 Earlier Steve accused Buzz of getting too inside radio but now he has to get a little inside with Lowen & Navarro.
6:02 Steve's first radio gig was on a KPPC-AM. It was a 100 watt station that was only on the air Wednesday nights from 7:00-midnight because it was owned by the Presbyterian church. That's when they had their weekend service.
6:03 Steve was working at KPPC-FM and they asked him if he wanted to do a show on the AM station because they needed programming.
6:08 Live read: Townstone Financial
6:10 That Taste of Randolph sounds pretty fun. Lowen & Navarro go on at 8:30 and play until 10:00.
6:11 Lowen & Navarro perform If I Was the Rain.
6:21 They never let anyone on the noon news play a full song. You play a few songs as bumpers or rejoins and then you play as much of your song as you can get in before the credits are done.

6:27 NASA says it's too soon to think about abandoning the entire project. Will they do that tomorrow?
6:28 Robert Gates made an unannounced visit to Iraq today. Steve loves it when they call it unannounced. It's only unannounced because they're chicken.
6:29 Arnold Schwarzenegger told hundreds of Hispanic journalists that newly arriving immigrants should turn off Spanish-language TV shows in order to better learn English.
6:30 Inmates at the same county jail as Paris Hilton are receiving added perks to stop them from complaining that she's getting special treatment. That includes extra bologna, extra juice and extra blankets.
6:31 Also, Nikki Hilton became hysterical recently after visiting her sister in jail. Hysterical funny?
6:32 Paris Hilton's partner in crime Nicole Richie is reportedly pregnant. Photos have surfaced showing Richie with a bun in the oven.
6:33 Buzz is doing a lot of weird celebrity stories lately. Most of this stuff comes from Mark's page, is he Buzz's dealer?
6:35 Did they figure out that thing with the family in the SUV yet? Christopher Vaughn has been released by the police after they questioned him last night.
6:36 The initial impression is that his wife just snapped. Someone must have snapped.
6:37 Everyone says they were the perfect family. They were actually just featured in the Sun-Times home section.
6:38 Who carries a gun to a water park? You don't need a gun there and they probably won't let you in with it.
6:39 Steve's first reaction after being shot in the thigh by his wife would not be to run from the car. If his kids were in the car he'd try to protect them.
6:40 Buzz would get out of the car but then try to talk his wife out of doing any more shooting.
6:41 Today is the last day for Chicago Public Schools. Mayor Daley is reminding parents to keep track of their kids, especially at night. Thanks!

6:46 Steve calls down to Jim's office. The remaining two boxes of Pete's tapes are down there because Lowen & Navarro were here today. Steve's going to come down and get them so Buzz can talk to Jim about newsroom stuff.
6:47 Jim's going to see Ocean's 13 tonight. Buzz is wondering why. Nothing to do? Then he's got a Cubs game and Father's Day on Sunday. How many kids does Jim have? Is that with his black girlfriend?
6:48 Steve is on the phone now. Jim has kids with his Mexican girlfriend not his black girlfriend. Steve returns to the studio but Buzz has hung up on Jim. Steve's going to come back down and get the last box.
6:49 Steve has the second box and he's returning to the studio. When is Jim going to tell Buzz about his Lebanese girlfriend? Shakira is Lebanese!
6:50 On 7/29/00 Cubs vs. San Francisco, a great game, and Taxicab Confessions 7. Pete remembers that one, it was really good. It featured the keyboard player from the Goo Goo Dolls.
6:51 On 10/08/00 from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, various TV, news football, the Ed premiere and Sex in the City. Also Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. There's also an Art Beat Chicago. Pete remembers that one, it featured Steve Albini.
6:52 Art Beat didn't have musicians, it hard painters and stuff. That Fawn Ring hosted the show. She'd talk to people like Tony Fitzpatrick.
6:58 Buzz watched John from Cincinnati but he didn't love it. He found the profanity to be gratuitous but he's not a guy who shrinks from that kind of stuff. In this case they weren't selling the profanity.
6:59 Pete's looking forward to Flight of the Conchords. Steve has been seeing promos for that and it doesn't seem funny.
7:00 Matt saw the two guys from Flight of the Conchords on Lettermen this week and they didn't seem to funny. We've got a music snob cage match on our hands here.
7:01 Steve wants to like Flight of the Conchords but the promos are long and self-indulgent. John From Cincinnati rocks though. Steve has watched the first episode three times.
7:02 What that John kid says is so bizarre. Sometimes he says stuff that was already said to him and sometimes it might be stuff that was said to him in the future. Buzz should look at it like aliens are involved.
7:03 Alright the last box of Pete's tapes. On 2/13/03 Surreal LIfe, Insomniac 3/13/03 Friends, Scrubs, ER.
7:04 2/24/03 King of Queens, Raymond, Greek Life. What's Greek Life? Matt remembers an MTV series about frats, that's probably Greek Life.
7:05 On 3/25/03 Crank Yankers, The Shield and then 4/1/03 The Shield finale. This box can go too. Pete feels there are gems in every box but Steve's just not grabbing the right tapes.
7:06 If Pete were smart he would have put a layer of tapes on top for Steve to grab.
