2:03 Terry has some raw video of the Amy Jacobson video. It seems just as weird that channel 2 is hiding at Craig Stebic's neighbor's house, videotaping Amy Jacobson.
2:04 What was Alita Guillen wearing when she was at the neighbor's house? For all we know when Amy Jacobson was on the phone in the video she was calling someone back at NBC to let them know what was going on.
2:05 Amy Jacobson is actually in Craig Stebic's house which trumps CBS who's next door. That should be in a new NBC promo, if Larry Wert wants to call Steve he can fix this whole thing.
2:06 Amy Jacobson's story is that she was taking her kid swimming at the East Bank Club when she got a call from Craig Stebic, who wanted to talk about the thing with his wife.
2:07 Steve's not really interested in anything that Stebic guy has to say though. They found a chicken bone and thought it was Lisa Stebic but it wasn't. Get back to us when you know something for sure.
2:08 What kind of pool do the Stebic's have anyway? It had the look of an above-ground pool to Stan with the wood deck built around it.
2:09 Stan thinks that The Jake was at Stebic's house undercover. When you go to someone's house what do you do? You look in their fridge, maybe their cupboards and their computer. Remind Steve to not invite Stan over ever again.
2:10 Steve's getting sick of all this stuff already. There is still a woman missing. She went to workout and never came back, that seems like a bigger story than Amy Jacobson in a bikini.
2:11 Stan and Terry both know that there's no journalistic integrity in broadcast news. The more they say there's integrity the less there is. CBS made a big deal about having the video on Friday but not showing it until today. Maybe they were screening it exclusively at Joe Ahern's house.
2:12 Joe Ahern hates Steve, it goes all the way back to Greetings From Graceland. He didn't want ABC airing the special, which eventually went on to win a Grammy. Joe's been at CBS for years and it's still in third place.
2:13 If Steve were running CBS the first thing he'd do for the news is get a bigger desk. It looks like all of the anchors are sitting at little kindergarten desks. He'd keep Diann Burns and find a male anchor who's from Chicago. Or maybe Steve would just put himself on.
2:14 Steve would also get rid of Mark Malone because no one in Chicago cares about a former Pittsburgh Steeler. Diann Burns' son is in the same baseball league as Stan's son.
2:15 Steve likes Diann Burns. He was once on a flight with her and worked her pretty hard. He didn't really work here but he kept coming back to her seat in coach with drinks asking her why she wasn't in first class.
2:16 Steve thinks it's time for the networks to rethink the whole news paradigm. They also have to stop worrying about what Rob Feder thinks. He's just one guy, who cares?
2:17 Would it kill the networks to represent white people a little better too? If you turn on the news you'd think there were no white people left based on the anchors. Can Steve get a white guy on there, please?
2:18 Rob Johnson is not going to be the white guy to lead us either and John Drummond's too old.
2:19 Steve really feels that he's the next generation of news anchors but no one will listen to him. The stations in Chicago are afraid of Rob Feder and Jesse Jackson, they're prisoners of their own political correctness.
2:20 Joe Ahern hates Steve so he'd never let him on CBS. He could call himself Steve Muñeca.
2:21 If Steve were an editor at CBS he'd be asking why they didn't have anyone in Craig Stebic's house.
2:31 Song: Amie, Pure Prairie League
2:36 Steve wonders if he's wandered into a Buzz Kilman perfect storm with this Amy Jacobson story, featured prominently in Feder's column in the Sun-Times.
2:37 Buzz likes Amy Jacobson but he can't believe she was hanging out at Craig Stebic's house. What did she really do though? She had a cover-up on, she's just getting the story.
2:38 That song has haunted Buzz throughout his marriage. Is it about his wife? Did she go out with someone in Pure Prairie League? Or are there just references to things in Aimee's past that Buzz doesn't want to know about?
2:39 Because there are plenty of songs out there that reference things that happened in Buzz's life. How about 18 minutes worth of Ina-Goda-Da-Vida for starters?
2:40 Iron Butterfly was rehearsing that song when Buzz was living in Coconut Grove. The Lovin' Spoonful were rehearsing right next door to him. Those were the days, Jimmy Buffett was wandering around town too.
2:41 During a break Buzz should take a look at the raw footage on the CBS 2 website. It seems just as weird that CBS was hiding in Stebic's neighbors backyard videotaping Amy Jacobson. How does CBS think they're on a moral high ground?
2:42 If Amy Jacobson gets fired over this that would be really stupid though. Steve deals with this a lot at the Tribune, the journalistic integrity that everyone hides behind.
2:43 Steve and Buzz have no journalistic integrity, they're total sluts. If someone pays Steve enough money he'll say anything they want. Literally anything if you pay him enough.
2:44 Buzz is the same way but it took him a while to get to that point coming from a newspaper background.
2:45 Was there a lot of integrity there though? The guys Buzz worked for were all drunks and once sent him to the house of a dead kid to steal a picture of him from his mother.
2:46 The whole thing seems silly to Steve since Lisa Stebic is still missing. They found some chicken bones which authorities announced were chicken bones, but the networks still reported it as a developing story.
2:51 Does Buzz care about the Amy Jacobson raw footage? It's not really that big of a deal, she's talking on the phone, wearing a cover-up, letting kids in and out of the house.
2:52 It's just as bad that CBS was in Stebic's neighbor's yard videotaping her. There's no audio which means they didn't do anything illegal. As we learned with that principal and teacher it's not an illegal recording if there's no sound.
2:53 Amy Jacobson has retained that Kathleen Zellner woman as her attorney she says it's an illegal recording. What are the odds that CBS recorded the video without audio?
2:54 Jacobson is on the phone the entire time, she's probably trying to get a crew out to the house for an exclusive.
2:55 Lisa Stebic is still missing though and CBS is hiding in the neighbor's backyard. The only difference is that there's no video of CBS hiding in the neighbor's yard.
2:56 Amy Jacobson will get in trouble but it'll be fake trouble. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal though but Rob Feder made it seem like it was party time.
2:57 That's what Rob does though, he's the keeper of journalistic integrity. Unless Amy Jacobson found Lisa Stebic in the backyard it doesn't seem like a story to Steve.
2:58 Steve once had Marcella Raymond in his backyard and it didn't make any news whatsoever. Had Steve's wife disappeared previous to that it would have been newsworthy.
2:59 That Kathleen Zellner is hardcore so Jacobson will be fine. The last time Steve saw Zellner she was dropping a bag of meat into a river with Ernie Rizzo to prove that Fox guy didn't kill his daughter.
3:00 Zellner's at the top of Steve's list for attorneys if he ever needs one. In fact he should probably just send her a retainer.
3:01 There's a very nice photo of Drew's cake up at Dahl.com. It was a scrumptious cake.
3:02 One thing for channel 2 to consider in all this, news in bathing suits. Maybe if Jacobson does get fired CBS could hire her for the beginning of bikini news. How is news in a bikini any different than a reporter standing in the snow in a giant parka?
3:03 Steve's been around enough newsrooms to know that the whole journalistic integrity thing is a facade. They're all egomaniacal, narcissistic money-grubbers. They're only on TV because they're good looking.
3:04 If you've ever met a news director for a TV station you'd know they're the most pompous, stuck-up asses ever.
3:09 Steve doesn't remember Marcella Raymond having that much fun in his backyard. She sounded giddy to Buzz.
3:10 Steve would like to continue with this Amy Jacobson thing for a little bit just so he can make fun of Northwestern. He paid them a lot of money but they owe him money.
3:11 First though, Steve would like to say that he has twice rolled over his own feet with his chair. Steve is wearing flip-flops today because he's no longer afraid to show off his feet.
3:12 Steve got a pair of flip-flops in Florida which he wore in Hawaii. They seemed really convenient for going to the beach or the pool. If you're walking on the beach you can carry them or just leave them since they're only $10 a pair.
3:13 Steve must roll over his feet a lot and not realize it because he's wearing shoes. That seems impossible to Buzz. Steve does something at the end of every segment that causes him to roll over his foot. It's not a full roll over though but enough that he notices and it hurts.
3:14 Channel 2's website says that Amy Jacobson is in "hot water" but they don't say they're the ones who put her there. That pun actually led Buzz to believe Amy was videotaped in the hot tub which made him think that she was partying, working the blender, maybe her top was off.
3:15 Amy Jacobson's kids were with her and Craig Stebic's kids were there as well. It's not like she was hanging out at Jeffrey Dahmer's house.
3:16 Still no mention of the fact that CBS had a crew in Stebic's neighbor's backyard videotaping her. That seems just as crazy to Steve.
3:17 The CBS story says she's in a towel, which makes it sound like something happened. It doesn't look like a towel though, it looks like something you'd wear to the East Bank Club to take your kids swimming.
3:18 Steve questions anyone who takes their kids swimming at the East Bank Club though. The East Bank Club is where you go to get laid, it's a meet market.
3:19 CBS shared the video for a Northwestern journalism teacher which is what all the networks do to make it seem legit. Really it's just a peeping tom video.
3:20 How is this a conflict of interest? It seems like The Jake was just in a hurry to get out to Stebic's house for an exclusive. Maybe this Northwestern professor is just a summer school teacher.
3:21 The professor also says the video will make Jacobson's colleagues question what else the reporter has done. So she just made it worse, probably because she's jealous that she's not the one on TV. It's like a feeding-frenzy.
3:22 The CBS article also says that Jacobson has been a frequent visitor to Stebic's house although they don't know why. She's probably there to get a story! But they're implying something else.
3:23 It seems just as weird to Steve that CBS has a camera crew stake out in Stebic's neighbor's backyard.
3:29 On the phone is Ed Norton from Opie & Anthony's show. Did Steve just say Ed Norton?
3:30 Ed Silha is here and Buzz was yelling at him in the hallway so Steve has Ed on his mind. It's Jim Norton from O & A's show. How many times has Jim been called Ed before?
3:31 Jim was also on HBO's Lucky Louie which was a great show that was unfortunately canceled. Someone at Time Warner really hated them.
3:32 Jim is on O & A's show almost everyday, it's his 5-day-a-week gig. When he's not there they find another comedian because they're used to the 3 person dynamic.
3:33 Jim is on the phone for two reasons. Number one, we like him. Steve likes to promote O & A's show but they need to come to Chicago and do a week of shows.
3:34 Steve had a meeting with Dan Mason right before O & A did. Steve told Dan that O & A need to do a week of shows here. Dan told O & A about it.
3:35 The other reason Jim is on the show is because he'll be in Chicago next week and he has a new book out called Happy Endings. He'll be doing a signing at Borders next Tuesday.
3:36 Jim will be at the Borders on Clark in Lincoln Park. He was at a Borders in New York today that was covered by TW11, a local station. That's a station that has women in bikinis reading the news but the reporter wouldn't show the cover of his book. Then they showed a YouTube video of a guy being hit in the groin.
3:37 We're looking to get some women in bikinis doing the news in Chicago.
3:38 O & A got that whole Condi Rice thing figured out right? Jim read somewhere that they were going to be suspended for 30 days and he almost threw up.
3:39 XM doesn't want any trouble because they want the FCC to approve the Sirius merger. They don't need anyone talking about Condi Rice.
3:40 Jim feels that someone from the NAB leaked that false information about a 30 day suspension.
3:41 It would be fine if O & A were off XM all together and just did regular radio. Jim likes the balance between FM radio and satellite.
3:42 There are some things they can do on XM that they aren't able to do on FM. Steve likes listening to radio where people have restrictions.
3:51 On the phone is Pat Boyle from Comcast Sportsnet. The next baseball game coming up on Comcast isn't until Friday. That means it's a slow sports day if they're promoting something on Friday.
3:52 There's really nothing else going on in sports right now. Tomorrow is the slowest day in sports for the year.
3:53 The last time Pat was on the show he mentioned having Steve on for the Bears Postgame Live show. Steve hasn't done anything on his end but Pat has put the wheels in motion.
3:54 Steve's even willing to work on the away games somehow because he likes doing things in their entirety. Pat is hoping that Jim Corno and Drew can work something out.
3:55 Pat should leave Drew out of this if he can. The credentials he got for Steve last year allowed him to drive by Soldier Field, that's it.
3:56 So the All-Star Game is tonight and they say it's important. It does determine home field advantage in the World Series. That worked out well for the Sox.
3:57 The big news today was Sports Illustrated reporting that Bud Selig would be following Barry Bonds around so he could be there when he breaks Aaron's record. Then Selig quickly issued a denial on that.
3:58 Bonds could break Aaron's record at Wrigley Field. The Giants have 3 games against the Dodgers and then 4 against the Cubs.
3:59 It seems pretty exciting and it hasn't been proven that Barry Bonds did anything wrong. Bud Selig has said that there was no way for MLB to know what players were doing though.
4:00 A good indication that something was going on was that Barry's head got about three times bigger and Sammy Sosa started hitting 70 home runs in a year.
4:01 If MLB really wanted home runs they should have juiced the ball, not the players. If Steve were a baseball player he'd take everything he could get his hands on.
4:02 Pat heard the show open today and he thought it was hilarious. Does Pete have a blooper real of every reporter in the city?
4:03 That being said, Pat doesn't think the networks should send non-sports people to cover big sporting events. Amy Jacobson called them the Houston Asteroids.
4:04 Tonight Tony LaRussa has Barry Bonds hitting second which seems genius to Steve. You have to pitch to Barry because you want to put him on base.
4:05 People say you should have speed at the top of the line-up but it doesn't matter if the number 2 hitter is going to jack the ball out of the park.
4:06 Steve watched the Home Run Derby last night on ESPN. It might be time for Chris Berman to retire the "back, back, back" thing.
4:07 Pat would have never thought that Chris Berman would have outlasted Dan Patrick at ESPN.
4:10 Batting Barry Bonds second in the All-Star game is genius. You don't want to walk him because you'll put someone on base.
4:11 Live read: Balance for Life
4:12 Buzz is wondering if we're going to see Troy at all this summer. We haven't really seen him since last summer.
4:13 For some reason Troy makes Buzz very competitive. Buzz is able to get under Troy's skin because he's not intimidated by his rock-hard abs, his earring and his good looks. Then the next thing you know they're doing one-handed push-ups.
4:14 Steve's also not intimidated by any of that stuff but Troy doesn't really care. Troy's a good guy though and Steve's at a 2-year low because of Balance for Life.
4:15 Headlines with Buzz
4:16 President Bush says he has a plan to win the war in Iraq. He might want to put that plan into action.
4:17 Ahmad Al-Zarqawi has said Al-Qaeda is planning a response to Great Britain's plans to knight author Salman Rushdie. Does that mean blowing something up?
4:18 Miss New Jersey is being blackmailed by an unknown person with photographs featuring her, captioned by the person. The photos aren't even that bad, they just have bad captions.
4:19 Astronomers using a high-powered telescope believe they have captured images of the oldest galaxy ever recorded. They believe light from the galaxy has been traveling for billions of years.
4:20 Steve is sure that sort of stuff is important but he can't really grasp what it means. No one can really. What are we supposed to do with this info though?
4:21 Today is the day that 14 Springfield's across the country find out if they will host The Simpsons Movie premiere.
4:22 At last count Springfield, Illinois and Springfield, Vermont in a dead heat. Steve thinks Illinois will win, it's close to major media sources.
4:23 Springfield, Vermont actually won. Is Buzz getting his news from the day-old news department? Steve doesn't care if Buzz has old news but he cares when he gets dragged into it.
4:24 Buzz's original story was from this morning but the Tribune updated it at 1:48 today. Steve gets that it's hard for Buzz to keep tabs on every story during the show but we can get someone to do it for him.
4:25 Steve didn't mean to make Buzz look bad. It's hard to keep track of stories during the show. It is in the budget if Buzz wants a news writer. Maybe we could bring Bill Holub back.
4:26 Buzz doesn't think a news writer will solve the problem. Mark is usually pretty good about keeping things updated.
4:27 Sometimes Mark likes to update the story after it's been talked about but in this case he had the story up before Buzz did it.
4:28 Several 7/11's throughout the country have been converted into Kwik-E-Mart's to promote The Simpsons Movie. Most 7/11's are already like Kwik-E-Mart's though.
4:29 Buzz got the feeling that the 7/11 empire wasn't as big as it used to be. That's probably because he lives downtown. In the real world there are 7/11's and Taco Bells everywhere.
4:30 One thing that has fallen on hard times are the White Hen stores. There are hardly any of those near Steve.
4:35 Caller Joey wanted to let Steve and Buzz know that 7/11 has bought out all of the White Hen stores. There's still a White Hen by Steve but they only have one thing on the shelves, a can of Dinty-Moore beef stew.
4:36 Maybe the White Hen will close down and become a strip club, Steve's always wanted one just around the corner. He has no problem with any sort of zoning changes they need to make.
4:38 What game was it when the Sox hit three home runs in an inning? It was Sunday against the Twins. Steve wasn't there but he did get to see Buehrle pitch on Saturday.
4:39 Steve didn't think it was Buehrle's last game. Cleaning out his locker was just a negotiating tactic and it worked.
4:40 What was in Mark Buehrle's locker that he really needed in case he was traded? How hard is it to get more Right Guard and a new pair of shower sandals.
4:41 Buehrle got a lot of money off this deal but he's a good pitcher. The Sox know who Buehrle is, they know what they're getting. A lot of times the pitchers who get these big deals don't pan out right away. Look at Barry Zito.
4:42 If Podsednik and Erstad can get healthy and get back then the Sox can cause some trouble in the Central.
4:43 Ed wouldn't be surprised if the Sox made a move before the All-Star break ended. They'll probably get someone to shore up the bullpen which would be nice.
4:44 Even Bobby Jenks made things a little scary in that Saturday game.
4:45 Ed is back home in California for the All-Star break. Is he sitting at the dinette set that Steve got for him?
4:46 Ed can see the dinette set, it's across the room. The washer and dryer he got last year is also working well.
4:47 Ed's thinking of putting an addition on the house next year so Steve will have to talk to Drew about that.
4:48 Ed tried to throw a t-shirt at Steve on Saturday but he didn't get to it. Every time Ed throws a t-shirt at Steve it lands about 20 feet from him. It's impossible to get to it because of all the grown men who also want it.
4:49 Then Ed gives Steve a look like he's an idiot for missing the shirt. What kind of shirt is it anyway?
4:50 Steve hurt his arm the other day reaching for a shirt when some guy grabbed his arm and pulled it off. Steve doesn't even want the shirt, if he got it he'd just give it to a kid.
4:51 It would be fine with Steve if the Sox staged a comeback this year. He doesn't even think they need Pods or Erstad either. He really likes that Jerry Owens kid, he's fast.
4:52 Steve likes that Terrero kid too and Josh Fields. He doesn't like Rob Mackowiak as Ed knows. He also doesn't like Bukvich. He doesn't like any of the local kids. If you ever hear someone shouting "Oak Lawn hates you" at Mackowiak you'll know it's Steve.
4:53 Ed's wondering who Steve likes in the All-Star game tonight. If the Sox do start getting better it could be them benefiting from home field advantage.
4:54 Steve likes the AL then but he thinks it's genius that LaRussa is batting Barry Bonds second though.
4:55 Ed reminds Steve about his friend at Majestic. If Steve wants a Sox jersey or something that guy can hook him up.
4:56 Steve doesn't think he wants a jersey but he wouldn't mind a hat. Does Majestic make hats?
4:57 Friday is Ed's day to tour Air Force One since the Sox will be in Baltimore.
5:04 It's time for the Five O'Clock Taco Bell. Buzz also knows that it's Taco Tuesday although today he and Steve are having taquitos.
5:05 The taquito is quite lively, it comes with three dipping sauces. Steve and Buzz both select the guacamole but you can also have salsa and sour cream.
5:11 Tyrone has some traffic to report. WHAT UP BUZZMAN?!
5:12 Tyrone forgot to look at the weather today but he was already up so he decided to make it exciting. He might touch down at O'Hare though because it's getting a little iffy.
5:13 Taking the choptater to O'Hare is even faster than open-road tolling courtesy of Governor Rod R. Blagajavojevich.
5:14 Tyrone saw the governor doing some sort of State of the Onion address yesterday. Why does he always have that deaf woman up next to him? It's distracting. If Tyrone were deaf he'd be happy he didn't have to hear that speech.
5:15 South of O'Hare on 294 just south of the tollway oasis, the bad weather tore off a chunk of billboard that hit a car. That's in the southbound lane.
5:16 Hopefully it's not a Johnny B billboard or an Eric & Kathy billboard. Why is Johnny B sitting on a park bench? Is it supposed to be like Aqualung.
5:17 It says the lady is alright but how alright can she be if two lanes are shut down?
5:18 That's about all Tyrone has to report for now, a billboard hit a lady's car. So she could have a big chunk of Johnny B sticking out of her car.
5:19 Steve and Buzz don't have billboards though. Johnny B is just sitting on a park bench, staring at the ground wondering what happened to him. Tyrone prefers the billboards for strip clubs though.
5:20 Buzz wasn't aware of those but that's because he never leaves his house. The women aren't naked but you can tell what's going on.
5:21 It seems like Buzz had a lovely chat with Tyrone. He's never talked to him on the ground.
5:22 Caller Anne just passed the billboard on 294, it's not Johnny B. It's either 7-Up or Sprite, whichever one mentions Lymon.
5:23 That's Sprite isn't it? There are a ton of ambulances on the scene so who knows how alright the woman is. 3/4th of the billboard was missing. Maybe she'll get a lifetime supply of Sprite.
5:30 Steve has a procedural question for Pete Zimmerman. He has something on pause on the TiVo that he wants to play. It's been paused for a while but if he hits record he'll lose everything correct?
5:31 What if Steve starts it up and then hits record? Pete's not sure what will happen. It's the CBS coverage of the Amy Jacobson thing. It might not be a two-piece after all.
5:32 CBS has the Northwestern professor in the news van and then in her office.
5:33 Steve loves the journalistic integrity from CBS. They're asking if a line has been crossed as they replay the video. It's also their lead story.
5:34 Buzz also heard the speculation from Alita Guillen that Jacobson may have been fired. Can't we blow in a call to Larry Wert?
5:35 This Thursday is the 28th anniversary of Disco Demolition. Buzz was told to expect celebratory sugar cookies. That's not the main thing Steve was going to promote but Buzz will get a cookie if that's what he wants.
5:36 Is that how we get Buzz to come in, the promise of sugar cookies? Buzz was told yesterday "If you think the cake is something, wait until you see the cookies."
5:37 According to Mark Czerniec WBBM-AM is reporting that Amy Jacobson has been fired from NBC. Now we're on a whole different level.
5:38 Amy is more than welcome to come up to Blarney Island on Friday in her bathing suit. Hanging out and getting hammered might be a great way to work through this. No kids though, or Craig Stebic.
5:39 So Thursday is the anniversary of Disco Demolition. Garry will be on the show on Thursday to reminisce about it. We might be luring him with the promise of sugar cookies as well.
5:40 Buzz wasn't in Chicago for Disco Demolition so while Steve and Garry are reminiscing he can enjoy his sugar cookies.
5:41 Garry won't be on at the beginning of the show because he has to pick up his daughter at camp. Steve can't have Garry on at the top of the show with Stan anyway. All the reminiscing will be done in 10 minutes because Stan can't help himself.
5:42 Mark Czerniec is on the phone. Is he wearing his bikini? Phil Rosenthal is reporting that The Jake has been fired from NBC. Phil actually does have journalistic integrity which makes him a bit of a bore.
5:43 Is Mark coming to the broadcast on Friday? It's pretty close to him isn't it? Steve feels that Friday will be a complete break down of moral and social boundaries.
5:44 Mark wasn't planning on coming on Friday but he was planning on going to the Dahlfins show. Mark is more than welcome to come though, does it really matter if we don't have all the news?
5:45 Maybe Mark will come on Friday. Otherwise he'll just sit at home sending out invites to local news babes. How does he get Amy Jacobson at his house?!
5:46 The Jake's lawyer is saying that the video is illegal. What are the odds that CBS shot a video without sound?
5:47 Amy's agent should work on getting her a job at CBS now. How sweet would the news be with her in a bikini and Antonio in a mesh tank top?
5:53 Once again, Amy is welcome to come up to Blarney Island on Friday. Steve has a boat available to him if she needs to change swimsuits or whatever.
5:54 Live read: Townstone Financial
5:55 Steve got a troubling email from David Hochberg that he'd like to read. David is going to Croatia with WTMX for 8 days. As a result he will not be able to attend the live remote or the Dahlfins show.
5:56 David wasn't sure if Steve would even care and he figured Steve would rip him for this, which he's fine with. That's good to know. Steve's reply: "Croatia?!"
5:57 David Hochberg has a one-hour live chat on the WTMX website. He's looking to diversify and reach more female listeners. We have female listeners!
5:58 Steve might be getting punished for not agreeing to a live chat on his website with David which was Jeff Schwartz's idea.
5:59 Eric and Kathy as well as upper level management will be on the trip. Ooh, Greg Solk! He's fun to travel with!
6:00 David says he'd rather be at the live remote than in Croatia. That's up to him though, he doesn't have to go to Croatia to get closer to Eric and Kathy. The way it works with them is you write a check and they do whatever you want them to.
6:01 Steve feels that he's been very good for David Hochberg and Townstone because he's able to keep him at an arm's length.
6:07 It turns out that Croatia is the 18th most popular vacation destination in the world. The cruise starts in Venice and heads to Croatia's Dalmatian coast.
6:08 Why does Steve need to know that David's going to Croatia though? He could have just said he was going on a golf outing instead of going to Croatia because he needs some strange.
6:09 Live read: Gierczyk Properties
6:11 Live read: Cheeseburger in Paradise
6:13 Steve doesn't understand any of the directions for the Cheeseburger in Paradise locations. The Des Plaines location says it's in Metropolitan Square but on Market Street. Does the shopping center have two names?
6:14 Buzz is trying to figure out how he can hit the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Downers Grove on Saturday before the Dahlfins show.
6:15 That Joe guy who brought all the food in manages that location. Steve doesn't need a hammered Buzz on his hands though. Well, not too hammered at least.
6:20 Steve's looking at the map of the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Des Plaines. Metropolitan Square is a condo development which is all sold out.
6:21 Metropolitan Square is a new concept in luxury condominium and loft-style living. The median income in Des Plaines is $52,105. The cost of living is 114%. What does that mean?
6:22 It's too bad David Hochberg isn't here to explain it. Instead he's in Croatia cheating on Steve, all because he didn't give David a one-hour chat on his website.
6:23 News with Buzz
6:24 President Bush told a friendly crowd today that he wouldn't consider pulling troops out of Iraq until a new report is released in September. Does Bush appear in front of unfriendly crowds any more?
6:25 Al Qaeda is threatening more attacks against Great Britain in response to the country's plans to knight author Salman Rushdie.
6:26 An Iranian man has been stoned to death for committing adultery. Under Iranian law men are buried up to their neck before being stoned. Women are buried up to their breasts which seems unfair.
6:27 A small plane attempting to land in Orlando crashed into 2 houses. 2 children are among those who died.
6:28 A bomb scare temporarily cleared out part of Times Square after someone spotted 2 pieces of abandoned luggage. Did Pete or Catman leave their bags there? Pete met a woman on his trip to New York who's from Chicago. He was sort of lamenting about the distance thing. It seems perfect for Pete though because he's a whack job. Right around the time the whack job starts setting in it's time for the girl to go back to New York or Pete to come back here.
6:29 CBS is now explaining why they showed the Amy Jacobson video. They even dragged the news director on camera to make it seem legit.
6:30 Can Pete just grab the whole thing because Steve lost the recording.
6:32 Does Buzz want to know something about the cost of living in Des Plaines? 100% is the natural average so Des Plaines is 14% higher than the national average. Chicago is at 111% and San Francisco is at 172%
6:33 Investigators are trying to identify a little girl shown in a video who may have been given Ecstasy. The child is show laying on the floor of a van, eyes rolling back in her head. Teenage girls can be heard on the video making comments.
6:34 Besides being a horrible thing to do, why would you want to waste your Ecstasy on a little kid? They already like pacifiers, does Ecstasy make them not like them.
6:40 Steve officially doesn't care about the Amy Jacobson thing anymore. He doesn't want to see the CBS coverage or the Northwestern professor.
6:41 That being said, Amy is more than welcome at Blarney Island on Friday. She'll be given a VIP pass for one to the broadcast and Alita Guillen will not be hiding in the bushes with a TV crew.
6:42 That ecstasy video Buzz mentioned in the news might be fake. According to at least one girl in the video they shot it because they were bored and the little girl is impressionable and will do whatever they tell her.
6:43 The video is all over the place though. A lot of these viral videos end up being fake, like the one Buzz saw on YouTube where the guy in the sports car pulled a gun on the two hicks who were harassing him in their truck.
6:44 Buzz couldn't believe that was a fake video. Whoever did make it should be making movies.
6:45 The Ecstasy video is now on Live Leak which is where people post videos when they get pulled off YouTube.
6:46 Live Leak is where Steve found the Aramis Ramirez/Cesar Izturis video.
6:47 Steve's been giving away VIP passes for the Blarney Island broadcast but if you didn't win that doesn't mean you can't show up. VIP passes just mean you get free drinks and food.
6:48 Steve's never been to Blarney Island but it seems like a fun time. They call it the Key West of the Midwest and Steve will be there for 5 hours so something crazy is going to happen.
6:49 Also at the broadcast you'll be able to sign up to win tickets for the Jimmy Buffett show at Alpine Valley, as if seeing Steve and Buzz in their Amy Jacobson bikinis isn't enough.
6:50 Steve is just on the verge of buying a motorcycle, all it's going to take is a guy from Woodstock Harley talking him into it.
6:51 Bald Knob Marina is also supplying a boat for Steve and Buzz to use as a Green Room during the broadcast.
6:57 Antonio Mora was trying to rationalize the Amy Jacobson video by saying that over 100,000 people had viewed it today. It's their 3rd most popular video of the year.
6:58 This just in from Greg Solk who's streaming the show on the boat in Croatia. They actually might not have left yet because Steve also got an email from David Hochberg.
6:59 Steve got an email from David telling him that he was cheating on him with Eric and Kathy. Steve doesn't need to know about it.
7:00 Steve has a funny Matt Dahl story if Buzz wants to hear it. Matt has a new iPhone, just like Steve. Steve doesn't really need an iPhone because he never calls anyone.
7:01 On Friday night Matt and Brendan were in St. Charles giving away tickets for the Dahlfins show. Since they're near Diamonds and Brendan knows those guys they stopped by. It was already 1:00 AM and they had to be up at 5:00 AM for their show.
7:02 On Monday Matt discovered that the screen of his iPhone had a crack in it. Matt was outraged that the phone was built so cheaply.
7:03 As it turns out, the phone was in Matt's pants pocket as he was being lap-danced upon. Matt went into the bathroom right after his lap dance and the phone worked fine.
7:04 It's still possible that the stripper started a hairline crack in the screen of his iPhone. Matt had the phone replaced and the Apple Store didn't ask for a story. He should have told him about the stripper, the Geniuses would have been impressed.
7:05 It was obviously the stripper who caused the crack though. Steve's had the the iPhone for the same amount of time and he doesn't have any cracks on his screen.
7:06 The Geniuses were already fawning over Matt because they hadn't seen a broken iPhone yet. He definitely should have told them the stripper story. He'd probably be able to walk into any Apple Store and go right to the Genius Bar.
