2:01 The band It's a Beautiful Day is getting back together, they were a brother/sister combination.
2:02 What station is Stan listening to where they mention It's a Beautiful Day? It was XRT who also announced that Kathy Richardson is going to tour with Big Brother and the Holding Company. She'll be filling the Janis Joplin role.
2:03 Stan said Janis with a long A sound. It was very British, that must be leftover from his days at Oxford.
2:04 Stan's a little punch-drunk today, you'll have to excuse him. The storms were keeping him up all night. The Storms, is that another band? Who is he, Kevin Matthews? Hey buddy, I'm really tired today.
2:05 Stan also has to get in to work at 9:00 for the pre-show meeting so he didn't get much sleep. Pre-show meeting, what's that?
2:06 Stan and Terry meet with Drew every morning and he yells at them and gives them instructions like the proper way to answer the phone.
2:07 They're meeting with Drew, the most uncreative person Steve knows? Does Dan come in and finish them off?
2:08 Terry has been working with Stan for long enough that he can tell when something is off, like this morning.
2:09 Why was Stan up all night? He can't let something like that stick with him through the entire day.
2:10 Stan and Terry also had to go to a movie screening last night that ran a little late. Why do they go to those things, they're ruining their lives?
2:11 After the screening Stan went out to dinner with his family. When he got home he noticed a brown spot in his lawn and spent 45 minutes dealing with it. That totally threw him off for the rest of the night.
2:12 Stan needs to be on something if he's going to be that crazy. What else was he prevented from doing because he was thrown off?
2:13 Stan also had to do some bike maintenance last night. He could have done it today but he wasn't sure if it was going to rain.
2:14 Stan fell asleep during Letterman and when he woke up he rewound his DVR to see what he's missed. You know Stan probably watches the commercials and the show.
2:15 Once Stan was in bed it started raining and he couldn't stop thinking about if he should go back downstairs and turn the computers off. He has a surge protector but that part of his debate.
2:16 Then Stan started thinking about Ice Road Truckers because they'll be talking to the host of the show this week. OK, that is sort of funny crazy.
2:17 On the next episode of Ice Road Truckers a truck falls through the ice which made Stan start thinking about if the doors freeze shut once they're surrounded by ice. Then he started thinking about a sunroof emergency hatch for truck drivers.
2:18 Stan still shouldn't let all that get to him though. The hardest part about this job is being neutral when you show up. You can't be in a good mood or a bad mood.
2:19 At the beginning of the show Stan and Terry had Jordana Spiro from My Boys on their show. Stan went into a spin though because he heard her on Garry's show and he heard things that he wanted to ask her about. He should have just turned Garry's show off but he didn't.
2:20 At that point Steve would have come in crazy. Sometimes you can come in crazy if something like that happens. Steve would have canceled the interview too, who wants to hear from her twice?
2:21 Stan didn't want to say anything on the air because he has a potty mouth and he was tired. That sounds like the perfect situation for some great Stan Lawrence crazy.
2:22 Stan did tell Bonnie to shut the f* up and also hassled Terry for not having an air compressor in his car. Steve has one in his car though.
2:23 Steve doesn't have a spare tire in his car though but he has AAA and he knows how to change one if need be.
2:32 Song: Wichita Lineman, Jimmy Webb
2:36 On the phone is Jimmy Webb. He really needs to learn how to play that piano better.
2:37 Jimmy has a new album out, Live and at Large which was recorded in the UK. Jimmy thinks it could be titled Live and Large. He looks good to Steve though, it's that clean living.
2:38 Jimmy's new album is available for sale through his website. It's sort of an experiment for Jimmy. There's a crisis in the record industry right now because no one is buying CDs and there aren't many labels left.
2:39 The labels that are left have really jumpy executives and that's not because of the cocaine. Musicians are searching for the Holy Grail of record distribution which are alternative markets, like the Starbuck's model.
2:40 Jimmy took a crew with him and they recorded 30 shows in England, Ireland and Wales. It's the first live album he's ever released.
2:41 Steve's heard the album and there's also a lot of good stories that Jimmy tells in between the songs.
2:42 Jimmy's selling the CD through his website so he gets to keep all the money which isn't bad. He doesn't have problems with creative control any more but it's a good idea for younger artists to try it this way.
2:43 Jimmy is surprised that record companies are exercising more creative control over artists instead of less. You'd think at this point they'd turn to the artists because nothing else is working.
2:44 Steve saw this problem with CD sales coming years ago and he's just a consumer. It serves the industry right for not listening.
2:45 Jimmy thought it was a little sad when Tower Records closed. On the day that the store closed by his house his wife bought a few albums there including one of his. He took the bag and put it away in case he ever has grandkids one day, he can show them the bag and tell them about how we used to have these big stores that sold music.
2:46 Jimmy feels like he's living in a futuristic age right now and he never thought he'd see it. He was listening to satellite radio the other day!
2:47 Jimmy wants to know how the Chicago music scene is doing since the Webb Brothers left town. Jimmy feels honored to be one of the few musical guests Steve still has on the show.
2:48 Jimmy's coming to Chicago at some point in the next couple of months but he can't remember when. Steve can go right on his website and check it out.
2:49 Jimmy's going back to England in September if Steve's interested in coming with him. They can both be trusted to go to England alone right?
2:50 When Jimmy comes into town he'll have to stop by the studio and play some songs. He was actually planning on staying at Steve's house when he's here.
2:51 Steve didn't want to do this when Jimmy was on the phone but just to remind people some of the songs he wrote: Wichita Lineman, MacArthur Park, Galveston, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Up Up and Away, Didn't We. One you might not know that he wrote is The Worst That Can Happen. He sure can play the piano too.
2:58 Buzz is only vaguely aware of the Steve Dahl/Jimmy Webb story. He wouldn't mind hearing it again because he's a fan of Jimmy and Steve.
2:59 William F. Williams gave Steve his first opportunity to be on the air, at KPPC in California. William also gave Jimmy Webb his start when he was working at a station in San Bernardino.
3:00 Jimmy was a music student at a nearby college but also hung out at the station as an intern or a gofer. They used to call it gofer but now it's intern, which sounds a lot better. All interns do is go get people stuff though.
3:01 William was also a hot air balloonist and would launch from behind the station. He once took Jimmy Webb for a ride on his balloon and it totally blew him away. It also inspired him to write Up Up and Away.
3:02 William and Jimmy Webb took the song to Hollywood and it went from there. Steve had a working knowledge of Jimmy Webb and William F. Williams was definitely Steve's mentor.
3:03 He would always tell Steve stories about hanging out with Jimmy and what stories inspired what songs. It really helped him connect the dots in terms of being a creative person.
3:04 At some point in Steve's life it became important for him to meet Jimmy Webb. He might have stalked him a little bit but he eventually met him and they became friends.
3:05 Over the years Jimmy and William have had a lot of falling outs. He's not sure if they're in or out right now but most of the problem was over women.
3:06 Where's the Playground Susie? was written about William stealing Jimmy's woman, which seems uncool if you're someone's manager.
3:07 Every once in a while Steve tries to find William F. Williams but he's not sure what he would say if he did find him. Steve's not really big in reunions but he's pretty sure Williams knows what he's doing right now.
3:08 Live read: The Little Guy's
3:09 Steve keeps getting emails from a guy who claims he doesn't have an HD TV. He's just some nut job and Steve forwards the email on to David who goes nuts about it.
3:10 Steve has no idea what these two are talking about and maybe David could call in and explain it. Steve just thinks it's funny to forward it to David because he goes nuts.
3:13 Steve has a few commercials to get to before we talked to an already jacked-up David from The Little Guys. He'd also like to play another Jimmy Webb song.
3:14 Song: All I Know, Jimmy Webb
3:19 Jimmy's new album is available on his website through CDBaby.com. At some point they'll make it available on iTunes. It's really hard to get stuff on iTunes though.
3:20 Steve's albums are on iTunes but it's through CDBaby so if he can get stuff on there Jimmy Webb can too.
3:24 So on to the email about Steve's HD TV. He's pretty sure the same guy is sending him emails about him not having an HD TV. If Steve doesn't have an HD TV than whatever he has is really good.
3:25 According to this guy Steve has a 720p TV not a 1080i. Steve knows the difference between those two. The guy says Steve is missing half the image detail when he watches John From Cincinnati.
3:26 Sure there's a part of Steve that believes this guy and wants to be reassured. It plays to Steve's weakest weak spot. He went online and tried to figure out the difference between 720 and 1080.
3:27 David responded to Steve that there is nothing broadcast in 1080 and that 720 is a higher resolution.
3:28 Steve knows that he has an HD TV. When he looks at his TV it looks great to him. Buzz has heard that there are TVs better looking than what he has but when he looks at his TV he can't imagine that's possible.
3:29 Someone called the store and they're looking for David right now. How big is the store that they can't find him? Normally Steve can't get him off the air and now it's taking a half hour to find him. He's probably in the bathroom looking at pictures of naked Cubs.
3:30 David is on the phone. Where does Steve find these guys that bug him like this? It's the same guy right? There's no way that many people care this much about Steve's TV.
3:31 Steve's TV is an HD TV, end of discussion. Some new TVs have a higher 1080p resolution but no one broadcasts in that. When Steve watches John From Cincinnati he's seeing everything that HBO broadcasts.
3:32 The thing that makes Steve crazy about this is that he knows what's he's talking about with this stuff.
3:34 The tent sale is going on this week at The Little Guys. Is there any audio stuff on sale because Buzz still needs surround sound.
3:35 If this listener wants to email someone he should email Buzz. He doesn't even have surround sound!
3:36 Maybe it's a disgruntled Buzz Kilman who's email Steve just to torture him about his TV.
3:37 David wasn't sure if Mary told Steve about the baseball game he played in last week. Steve knows he goes to the Cubs fantasy camp every year.
3:38 David actually got to play at AT & T Park in San Francisco the day after the All-Star game. Was he wearing a Cubs uniform?
3:39 David was there as a guest of Panasonic and they got them National League and American League All-Star jerseys along with Nike cleats and sunglasses.
3:40 Steve would never walk into a baseball stadium wearing a uniform unless he was starring in movie.
3:44 On the phone is Luke Stuckmeyer from Comcast Sportsnet. Is Barry Bonds playing tonight?
3:45 Luke hasn't heard anything for sure but there was a rumor that he wouldn't play in the first 2 games of this series against the Cubs.
3:46 Barry has some sore knees and he's probably afraid to take anything to treat it, even an aspirin. It seems to Steve like the Giants are trying to make it so that Barry breaks the record at home.
3:47 The Cubs game is on Comcast tonight in HD and Steve will be able to see all of the picture. The Comcast HD looks great.
3:48 The Sox are in Cleveland tonight. That was another fine effort by the Sox bullpen last night. Steve almost got in his car and drove to Cleveland to kill someone.
3:49 The Sox sent Nick Masset down to Charlotte but what about Bukvich? That guy is a stain on the image of Naperville, Illinois. Bukvich has quite a scam going too because his ERA is still really low.
3:50 Bukvich tends to come into a game, inherits a few runners and then lets them score.
3:51 It's Lance Briggs back in the fold yet? Doesn't he understand how money he's losing by sitting out? With the franchise tag the he could make $400,000 a week.
3:52 There's no way that even the best NFL pension gives you that much money. Then the Bears can do the same thing to him next year which they probably will just to prove a point.
3:58 Steve thought he saw Briggs' agent on TV last night but he wasn't paying attention. He was talking to some of the guys on ESPN and he said that even though the deadline has passed something could still be worked out.
3:59 Buzz is wondering what we're rooting for in terms of Lance Briggs. Steve would like to see him realize the error of his ways and then show up to training camp hat in hand.
4:00 Other than that Steve's not sure what else can happen. Briggs will sit out the first 10 games then come in and probably get hurt because he's not in shape.
4:01 The NFL is very different than other professional sports. There are no
4:02 Headlines with Buzz
4:03 Rupert Murdoch's attempt to purchase the Dow Jones for over $5 billion appears to be complete. Shouldn't there be a law against foreigners owning all this stuff? He did give us The Simpsons.
4:04 The toxicology report for wrestler Chris Benoit, who murdered his wife and son and then hung himself, shows traces of steroids. Did he say his name with the French pronunciation? Buzz knows plenty of people who do but they're musicians in New Orleans.
4:05 Why do we care about his toxicology report? He's a pro wrestler, duh! If you look at a picture of him you can tell he's taking steroids.
4:06 Wrestling is fake though, why do they need to take steroids? You don't need to be strong to dance with another guy.
4:07 You probably wouldn't want to be the only wrestler not taking steroids though. Steve's taking steroids right now just to be bigger than Buzz.
4:08 The f-word has been decriminalized in Italy although over there it's the v-word. A court ruled that it was so commonly used that it was pointless to make it illegal. Can you not say the f-word in public? Is it like that here?
4:09 Caller Rick wanted to let Steve know that Rupert Murdoch is an American citizen. His dad was a war hero too so it was a big deal in Australia when he renounced his citizenship.
4:10 Caller Rich has the perfect punishment for Lance Briggs. What if the Bears went 10-0 to start the season and then Briggs came back and Lovie refused to play, so as to not mess up the chemistry.
4:11 He'd still get paid though because he's available to play. Steve thought he was talking to someone who knew more than him but really he knows less. Maybe Rich was hoping to have a brainstorm with Steve about punishment for Lance Briggs.
4:12 Caller Mary is a police officer in Skokie. She heard Buzz's story about the f-word and a police officer could arrest someone for using it in public. The charge would be disorderly conduct.
4:13 So if Steve were at the Skokie Swift station yelling the f-word he could be arrested. If you're bothering someone with the use of the word you can be arrested. Buzz is alright with that, he'd go along.
4:14 Buzz was at a restaurant once having breakfast with his family and a guy at the table behind him was using the f-word a lot. He didn't think he should have to put up with that but wasn't sure if he could call the police.
4:15 Buzz didn't want to tell the guy to shut-up because then that escalates things. He wasn't strapped either. Sometimes it's more fun to have the police to all that for you.
4:16 Getting back to the Lance Briggs thing. If he makes himself available to play in a game the Bears have to play him.
4:17 An Italian man is in trouble for taking his 10 year-old son to Pamplona for the running of the bulls.
4:18 You have to be 18 to run with the bulls. Has Buzz seen the photos of those two brothers being gored by the same bull?
4:21 Live read: Gierczyk Properties
4:22 Song: Galveston, Jimmy Webb
4:27 It's a tale of two Jim's today. Earlier Steve talked to Jimmy Webb and coming up is Jim Norton, the author of a book called Happy Endings. Steve's fun zone has a wide spectrum though, he can accommodate everyone.
4:34 Jim Norton is here, he's trying to fix his headphones. Club Soda Kenny is here as well.
4:35 You may know Jim and Kenny from the Opie and Anthony Show. In typical Buzz fashion he asked Steve if he read Jim's new book. Of course he had to lie and say he did but he didn't.
4:36 The book is a collection of short stories so Steve has read some of it. It's a lot of short chapters so it's good to read before bed or in the bathroom.
4:37 Steve can't get too in-depth about what's in the book but one of the funniest paragraphs he's ever read was Jim talking about drinking tomato juice on a plane because it makes him feel like gentleman. Then in the same paragraph he describes the worst thing he's ever done to defile himself.
4:38 Jim is a nervous flyer so every time he gets on a plane he taps the fuselage with his right middle knuckle and then has a tomato juice with lime.
4:39 Jim will be up at the Borders on Clark & Diversey at 7:30 tonight to sign copies of Happy Endings. Originally he wanted to call the book Tales of a Meaty-Breasted Zilch but the publisher wouldn't let him. That ended up being the subtitle.
4:40 Steve has never really looked at the cover of the book but it's making him never want to get a massage again. Jim put the call out for beastly women and that's what he got.
4:41 It's not as if Jim looks like Charles Atlas though. Steve gets the feeling that this girl on the cover is someone Jim would go for.
4:42 Another story Steve remembers from the book is when Jim was talking about pulling some decent tail because he was funny. Jim and another comedian took two girls back to their hotel room.
4:43 The other comedian was getting things going a little faster with his girl so he had his clothes off first. He had a better body than Jim which gave him performance anxiety.
4:44 Jim was dressed all in black, he looked like the priest in The Exorcist. Jim had his own hotel room but for some reason this seemed like some sort of bonding experience. Eventually they went to Jim's room and the girl was disappointed.
4:45 Kenny doesn't want to hear about Jim any more, he wants to hear what's going on with Steve. He wants to hear Steve's Drew Hayes impersonation too.
4:46 Also in the book Jim talks about pulling professional sex workers off of Craigslist. Jim actually met Craig of Craigslist and he ended up being a horrible dork. He wasn't sure what he was expecting though, the guy's a list-maker.
4:47 Steve recommends The Erotic Review website, you have a much better chance of actually finding a woman who is who she says she is. Jim's been to that site as well as Eros. It's good to cross-check with all three sites.
4:48 Steve can imagine how helpful these websites are for the sex worker enthusiasts out there. He is a VIP member though and those sections of the reviews get filthy.
4:49 Steve's favorite part of the website is when the reviews talk about their prowess and then tell the other guys to "treat her right." It's a prostitute!
4:50 Craigslist is pretty interesting too though. Jim also likes the Casual Encounters section. Some of the stuff in there is free but some of the people are still looking for someone who's "generous"
4:51 Once Steve accidentally went into the M4M section of Casual Encounters but of course he looked through the entire thing. And why shouldn't he? It's just a bunch of dudes who take pictures of their things and post them on the internet. Steve wouldn't even know what his best angle would be for that kind of photo.
4:54 Steve hasn't ready Jim's entire book but so far it's very funny. It's also well-written. Steve likes a comedian who puts it all out there.
4:55 You need to sell out to be a good comedian but Steve doesn't mean you need to get an endorsement deal with
4:56 Steve wants to know about the strip clubs in Brazil. You walk in and don't pay anything, then you go to a locker room and put on a robe and flip-flops. Jim doesn't care for flip-flops. Steve used to not like them but he's started wearing a half-size bigger.
4:57 You also have a wristband on with a number on it. If you want a lap dance or if you want to go upstairs with a girl someone takes your number down. Is this all legal?
4:58 Jim's not sure if it's legal but it's tolerated. They probably let the police officers get everything for free.
4:59 It sounds like Steve and Buzz might need to do some shows from Brazil.
5:00 It's time for the Five O'Clock Taco Bell. It's also Taco Tuesday but Steve doesn't want to put any pressure on Buzz since he doesn't like to eat in front of company.
5:01 Steve's having a taquito with the guacamole.
5:02 Jim had a Reuben on the plane and it was awful, this is much better.
5:03 A Reuben seems like a hard thing to serve on a plane. Steve's really glad that they have metal utensils in first class again. To him that means the terrorists haven't won.
5:04 So Jim and Kenny will be up at the Borders on Clark and Diversey tonight. Steve also told them about some good places to go when they're in town.
5:05 Jim and Kenny should head down to the Viagra Triangle after the Borders appearance tonight.
5:06 Kenny is not a very good wingman for situations like this. He'd probably start telling women about how Jim pays for sex in Brazil.
5:07 When Jim was in Brazil it was when O & A were off the air and he was really depressed. He was on a prostitute run like you wouldn't imagine, staying up until 5:00 AM everyday.
5:08 Jim and Kenny need to go to Gibson's or Morton's or something like that.
5:09 Steve can't believe that Jim has a girlfriend. None of the stuff from the book happened when he was dating someone though. Of course not.
5:10 Jim's girlfriend has not read the book yet and she probably won't which is a good course of action or inaction.
5:11 If Jim's girlfriend wrote a book like this he'd probably leave her right?
5:12 Jim actually tried to get his girlfriend to talk dirty about one of her ex-boyfriends but she didn't want to. Isn't that something you think you want to know but don't really want to know?
5:13 Jim is sort of a freak so maybe he doesn't want to know something like that. Jim thinks Kenny is a toe freak, he's always noticing girl's toes and it's creepy.
5:14 Jim and Kenny are located in a great part of the city tonight, they should go out after Borders. It's a warm night, people will be out and we can hook them up with a reservation.
5:15 Jim is hoping for a big crowd because he doesn't want 4 people sitting in front of him with books. He's had that happen before to him.
5:16 Jim was in Boston doing something when O & A came back on satellite. The same guy came through the line at least twice to ask him different questions.
5:17 The fans never disappoint Jim though, they all come out in big numbers wherever they go.
5:27 HBO has a new show called Voyeur and there's also a companion website. Buzz's copy has the H capitalized but not the B or the O.
5:28 HBO should be promoting John From Cincinnati but Voyeur looks like a good show too.
5:29 Live read: Balance for Life
5:30 Steve brought Buzz an oatmeal cookie but it's up in his office. Someone could go get it if he wants it now.
5:31 That Jim Norton is a funny kid. Kenny is too but Steve had to hit the dump button on him.
5:32 Kenny's joke was a cheap joke too, it wasn't even a good one. He couldn't help himself though.
5:33 Buzz loves getting snacks from Steve because the package has all of his information on it. No fish, ever!
5:34 Steve's not sure why they put fish on there since you can pick what you want from the menu. Something must have happened once where Steve didn't get his menu in on time and he got fish.
5:35 That doesn't mean Steve doesn't get shellfish though. He really just doesn't like the fleshier fish like salmon or swordfish. If he's going to eat steak, he'll have a steak, not swordfish passing as steak.
5:36 He did have a really good teriyaki-glazed fish at Joe's Stone Crab once though. He was having lunch with Rich Melman, who recommended it and it was fantastic.
5:41 Steve tried to find the dish he had at Joe's but it's not on their menu any more. It might have just been sea bass.
5:42 Ed Farmer is on the phone. After last night he's not doing too well. Steve almost drove to Cleveland after that game.
5:43 It was 11-2 and it ended up 11-10. The Sox sent one guy down, Nick Masset. Why didn't they send down Bukvich?
5:44 Bukvich's ERA is around 5.00 but it should be higher. He inherits a lot of runners and they end up scoring on him.
5:45 He does have an opposing batting average over .300 which is more indicative of how poorly he's pitching.
5:46 The game was so long last night that Ed had to go to the hotel front desk and get a new key for his room. The card expired because he was gone for so long.
5:47 Ed went on Air Force One last Friday, it was impressive. Ed doesn't agree with every President's policies, he never has but having Bush as the owner in Texas gave him the opportunity to take a group of people on board.
5:48 Ed almost took one of the President's jackets from Air Force One, the one that says POTUS on it.
5:49 There's a lot that goes on on that plane that Ed didn't know about. It's pretty impressive that this country has something like that.
5:50 Ed also learned that O'Hare is one of the only airports where Air Force One has to wait in line to land. We don't have time to deal with that.
5:51 Steve wants to know what's going to happen tonight. Ed thinks the Sox can score some runs against Paul Byrd tonight but he's not sure how many.
5:52 Steve doesn't understand why Ozzie didn't leave Danks in yesterday. He had given up 5 runs and his pitch count was over 100 but that seems better than what came in.
5:53 Steve will be out at The Cell for the Tigers series. He has tickets for the Saturday night game of the doubleheader.
5:55 There was a part of Steve that wanted to see the Indians hit a grand slam last night to win the game just so he hate them even more. Is that wrong?
5:56 Steve's already paid his money so at least he's going to get his money's worth by ripping on the bullpen.
6:03 Don't even get Steve started again on the White Sox. Buzz is sure they'll turn it around any day now.
6:04 Live read: Townstone Financial
6:05 Is Buzz ready with the news? Steve has his audio but Buzz thought Steve was going to sports.
6:06 Steve can do a quick sports if Buzz would like. Michael Vick has been indicted for the dog fighting, Barry Bonds will not play tonight, the Cubs have Jason Kendall as their new catcher, Dante Culpepper has been released from the Dolphins and that's about it.
6:07 The Dow Jones shot passed the 14,000 mark. Why is Buzz even showing up to work any more?
6:08 Buzz has been so busy lately that he hasn't had a chance to take stock of his portfolio. He needs to take stock of his stocks. When he does Steve would appreciate a heads up before Buzz quits.
6:09 Chris Benoit had two drugs and testosterone in his system when he hung himself last month after allegedly killing his wife and son. He's dead, do we need to say allegedly?
6:10 Detectives believe David Munis is armed and could be dangerous if he's using his National Guard training to avoid capture.
6:11 Munis is a National Guard sniper who police believe shot and killed his wife while she was singing in a Cheyenne bar. Buzz has been trying to figure out what song she was singing but he can't find it.
6:12 Steve knows the song, it's I Love This Bar by Toby Keith.
6:13 As was first reported by sports reporter Steve Dahl, Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick has been indicted on federal charges connected to dog fighting.
6:14 What's the draw with dog fighting, is it the gambling or watching dogs attack each other?
6:15 Trouble at the Buzz Club in Chicago which is not owned by Buzz. Maybe he could own it one day if there's trouble.
6:16 Police are searching for suspects in the bombing of an SUV outside the club. No one was injured but it is believed they were targeting the car's owner who is known for illicit business dealings. No one was injured.
6:17 This just in, last night at the Laugh Factory Jon Lovitz reportedly beat up Andy Dick.
6:18 Lovitz and Dick had apparently been at odds after a 1997 Christmas party, 5 months before comedian Phil Hartman was killed. Dick gave Hartman's wife cocaine after she'd been sober for 10 years. Phil Hartman was furious about it and 5 months later he was dead.
6:19 They don't seem to have a lot of laughs at that Laugh Factory. That's also where Kramer went awry.
6:25 Steve's going to play that song the woman was singing in Cheyenne when she was shot. No one saw who did it because the person as far away, which is why they think it was her sniper husband.
6:26 Buzz is wondering if the guy was listening for a certain part of the song to shoot her.
6:27 Song: I Love This Bar, Toby Keith
6:32 Steve song with Toby Keith at Farm-Aid once. He was on stage with Brian Wilson. Steve shared a mic with Toby and Al Jardine's kid who had the worst breath ever.
6:33 Toby was sporting new overalls and a cowboy hat. Steve questions the farmer look since he's not a farmer. Then he changed his story to oil driller even though he's just an Oklahoma college boy.
6:34 Steve and Toby shared a dressing room with Hootie and the Blowfish who forgot their bottle of Jack Daniels. They like to do a shot before they go on stage.
6:35 Phil Spector likes to do that too but a shot into a girl.
6:36 David Munis was trained by the Army to live off the land and travel stealthily which could make it difficult for authorities to capture him. It sounds like Rambo all over again to Buzz.
6:37 Robin Munis was in the middle of singing the Toby Keith song when a bullet that went through a plate glass door struck her in the head.
6:38 Buzz thinks they're going to need Richard Crenna to find this guy. That's a pretty good shot though which is good news for the taxpayers.
6:44 The guy being interviewed from Robin Munis' band doesn't seem to broken up about the whole thing. He seems to be enjoying the spotlight.
6:45 It sounds like the guy is trying to say that the bullet could have hit him. Consequently they'll also be looking for a new singer.
6:46 Is Steve saying Munis' name right? He knows it was on the tape but he wasn't listening.
6:47 Mike Millheiser, leader of Blue Mountain, said the band often rehearsed at Munis' house but he never saw David Munis threaten or hurt his family.
6:48 David Munis also never came out to see his wife sing in public. Robin often confided in Millheiser that her and her husband's different interests were ruining their marriage.
6:49 Maybe confiding in this other guy was part of the problem.
6:50 Steve saw that Shooter movie on the flight to Hawaii during the hiatus, that was pretty good. Buzz saw that as well, he loves the long shots. How about President Palmer being the bad guy?
6:51 Steve saw Shooter and Wild Hogs on the plane but he can't remember what else. His trainer has been asking him what movies he saw on the flight but Steve can't remember.
6:52 Steve's trainer seems mad that he can't remember the movies. Maybe Matt Dahl can remember.
6:57 Wild Hogs was the worst movie ever. Even on an airplane it was really bad. The people around Matt were loving it though.
6:58 Steve doesn't know who would laugh at that movie but it did alright at the theaters.
6:59 On the way to Hawaii they showed Breach and Astronaut Farmer. Those were both good movies. Steve watched Astronaut Farmer twice because they show the second movie again. Why don't they just show a third movie?
7:00 Steve will have to tell Cornell what movies he saw because he was very upset he couldn't remember. Cornell is from Romania but he's very into all this stuff. He's got Shooter loaded into his phone so he can watch it when he's waiting for his car to be fixed.
7:01 Cornell asked Steve what else he saw but was almost despondent that he couldn't. Cornell learns a lot about the culture from movies which is a good way to assimilate. He couldn't believe that Steve forgot though.
7:02 Cornell asked Steve for car advice but he didn't follow it. Instead he bought a used Chrysler from a Honda dealer. He just bought himself a nightmare.
7:03 Matt Dahl's thinking of buying a new car. He's looking at the Ford Escape Hybrid but they're hard to come by.
7:04 The Dahl family knows a Ford dealer but Matt's keeping his options open. Why? He's like an enigma. The guy lives in their neighborhood, he loves Steve and Matt went to school with his daughter.
7:05 Maybe Matt's having trouble pulling the trigger because he likes driving around in a red VW Beetle. He's trying to drive it into the ground but Janet keeps making Steve get it fixed.
7:06 Steve wants that car out of the family because it's an embarrassment. Matt needs to order the Ford and then drive the VW to the dealer and be done.
7:07 Buzz did that once with a car. He stopped at a stop sign and the car woulidn't go. He looked in the back seat and the battery had fallen onto the street.
7:08 Matt does look quite jaunty in the Beetle though, like an up-and-coming young gay man.
