2:02 Terry could spend the rest of his life arguing about Stan's musical tastes. He'll never back down.
2:03 Terry always looks like the crazy one when he won't be converted to something Stan likes. Terry doesn't like Justin Timberlake and he never will.
2:04 Steve actually doesn't mind Justin Timberlake. He seems pretty talented. Terry doesn't like the N' Sync stink but that's not Justin's fault.
2:05 Justin moved beyond N' Sync and all the other guys in it are losers now anyway.
2:06 Stan just saw an SNL rerun with Justin Timberlake though, it's not like he's discovered some unknown talent or something. Terry should just let it go. If Stan wants to lay in bed listening to Justin Timberlake songs all day they he should.
2:07 Terry moved over the weekend. Originally he had his own condo but when he got married he moved into his wife's apartment because it was bigger.
2:08 Terry's trying to figure out the TV set-up for his new place. The previous owner left his sweet set-up because he said it was a bigger pain to move all of it.
2:09 He's got three TVs in one room but Terry just needs to figure out how to get that all set-up. He could probably just get 3 different cable boxes or one box with three splitters.
2:10 Terry's birthday is in September so he'll have a house warming party then. Stan's wondering if he'll have a gift registry.
2:11 The way Stan is going he might not get the invite. That's a cold dish of reality right there.
2:12 Cynthia and Jeffrey are definitely welcome to the party but Terry's not sure if he wants Stan there telling him everything that's wrong with his new condo.
2:13 Terry's new place is in the West Loop in the same area where Jim Rose, Ozzie Guillen and former Bull Randy Brown live. It's a black and latino who's who.
2:14 Terry's a hop, skip and a jump from Harpo Studios and all those nice restaurants and clubs on Randolph.
2:15 Terry's wife has already started making plans to decorate the place. She wants him to call the Smithe Brothers because she heard they could make a few things for them. All Terry is seeing is dollar signs.
2:25 Song: Nasty Packages, The Maynard Brothers Band
2:29 That was a good song. Steve's never heard of those guys but he liked it a lot. Buzz only recently discovered them himself by searching on iTunes for "package" in the blues section.
2:30 WCKG is now called The Package. Steve backed off of the whole thing and then the station did some focus groups and it turned out people really liked them.
2:31 Steve got the official email from Drew today but he's known about the change for a while. The email went out to the entire WCKG staff as well as Rod Zimmerman, or Zim as Steve calls him, Mary, Pete, Jim, Stan and Terry, Matt and Brendan and the Hungry Hound.
2:32 Buzz isn't on the CC but everyone else who is doesn't have a WCKG email address like the rest of the staff.
2:33 Steve saw the new logo last week and it looked pretty good. He did have a few suggestions but the numbers and letters looked good.
2:34 The email doesn't say anything about Steve coming up with The Package, just that the station used it 10 years ago. It also says that we're still positioned as Chicago's FM Talk Station.
2:35 When Stan answers the phone on his show will he have to say "you're in the air with Stan and Terry on 105.9 WCKG, The Package, though still positioned as Chicago's FM Talk Station"?
2:36 He thought the logo for The Package should be coming out of a box. It doesn't have to be a square box either. Steve was also thinking more along the lines of the Sticky Fingers album cover. It's probably hard to tell a zipper to corporate.
2:37 Buzz would like to see the current logo. Drew could probably show it to him if he's still in the hiz-ouse. It might actually be up on the WCKG website.
2:38 Steve doesn't even own the rights to The Package any more, the station bought it a while ago. He can't remember who's idea it was to buy it but they were irritated that he owned the rights to WCKG.com. Someone decided to just buy the entire thing from him.
2:39 Steve feels The Package will be around for a while. He had the rights to ThePackage.com but it seems like they let that lapse. Now it's two kids in Seattle with their own website.
2:40 The Maynard Brothers are based out of Johnsonville, New York. They are a blues-afflicted, roadhouse-rock group, not unlike Buzz's own band.
2:47 All The Package stuff sounds good but there's no need to keep congratulating Steve about it via telephone or email.
2:48 Steve is going to embark upon something here but he doesn't know if he can do it. And by that he doesn't mean the entire show so no need for Steve to panic.
2:49 When Steve was running on Saturday he got stung by a bee and wanted to call his mommy. There's really nothing that can be done about it. He was hoping that his face would end up all misshapen but that didn't happen.
2:50 Steve doesn't want to run anyway so being stung by a bee is the perfect excuse to call home and have someone pick him up. He didn't though, he just kept going.
2:51 Steve got stung right in front of Paul Bryan's house so maybe he shot something at him. Paul was out front waxing his Porsche if you'll pardon the expression.
2:52 Paul wanted to talk to Steve but he didn't really want to do that. He just wants to run for an hour. He did take one earbud out and talked to him briefly but he was in such a hurry that he said Porsche instead of Porsch-a.
2:53 Unfortunately when Steve recounted the tale to his family there was no mark from the bee sting so they didn't believe him.
2:54 Steve has several very long emails all stemming from the Blarney Island broadcast. A guy said he won tickets to the Jimmy Buffett show but didn't hear his name called. He blamed it on a bad PA system.
2:55 The guy still got tickets but that wasn't good enough for him. Steve wants to read them all just to show what a pain this guy is but they're all very long.
2:56 Steve could probably get away with reading the very last email and then talking to Adam from promotions, since he dealt with the entire thing.
3:00 Steve might have to read all of the emails because the last one doesn't do the whole thing justice. Plus Adam is in a marketing meeting and Steve doesn't want to pull him out of that.
3:01 Whatever Steve does, Buzz needs to know about this now. He's up for a nice human interest story.
3:02 It's not really a human interest story. At some point though, Steve's going to stop giving stuff away because it's a pain.
3:03 Alright starting with the first one, subject line "Blarney's". All of this is [sic], Steve won't be correcting any of it. The emailer arrived late and was not able to get too close to Steve. He even told friends who worked there to turn up the PA.
3:04 Halfway through the show the guy got a phone call from a friend who said Steve called his name several times on the air. The guy tried to get up to the stage and talk to Steve but had to go around to the back and talked to someone one of Steve's "workers".
3:05 Whoever he talked to told the guy that they could only give him 2 tickets, not the 4 tickets and the parking pass. The guy said that he had to take his wife as well as the guy who called to tell him his name had been called.
3:06 The guy even got waitresses and people at other tables around him to confirm that he was there the entire time.
3:07 Steve sent the email on to Adam who sent the guy two more tickets. So that's 4 tickets which is what the guy wanted in the first pace. He figured he'd never have to see another email from the guy with the giant blue block lettering.
3:08 Then the guy sent Adam another email saying he did what he was supposed to do, asked people to turn the PA up and was at his table the entire time. Most of the first email to Adam is just a rehash of what he wrote to Steve. Keep in mind, the guy now has 4 tickets for the Jimmy Buffett show.
3:09 Buzz can now see why Steve had to read every single one of these letters. There's no way to shorthand the craziness.
3:10 The guy goes on to say that he'll send Adam the four tickets he won in exchange for the 4 VIP passes and the parking he originally won. No one ever said anything about VIP passes for Jimmy Buffett and the parking pass only cost $20.
3:11 Then the guy said that he also likes country music and the Cubs and Bears so if he can't get the original package of tickets then maybe something else could be worked out.
3:12 Adam responds that he is sorry the guy had trouble hearing the broadcast but all of the other winners claimed their tickets immediately. He also said that while some radio stations get tickets to give away WCKG doesn't get too many and doesn't get many extras.
3:13 WCKG had 4 tickets for the deck at Alpine Valley for staff members who could report on the broadcast but we are now giving this guy those tickets. Was Buzz going to report from the show?
3:14 You would think that would be the end of this but it's not. The guy emailed Adam again and told him that most of the people sitting around this guy could also not hear the broadcast very well and that he could ask other people working at Blarney Island if that was true, including several security guards this guy knows.
3:15 Adam is now saying that the guy is only getting 4 tickets. Steve needs to get Adam on the blower. This whole thing is complicated and annoying and makes Steve not want to do this kind of stuff.
3:16 Adam is on the phone. The guy was given 2 tickets at the broadcast and then Adam is prepared to give the guy 2 more tickets. Steve could probably just go right to the final email.
3:17 Steve sent the guy a mean email which he CCed Adam on. Adam saw that and he liked it. He's got it up on his wall.
3:18 The guy sent Steve and Adam an email wondering why Steve never responded to any of these emails. Steve sent this all to Adam, who seems to have responded several times.
3:19 The deck where this guy's tickets are doesn't have seats and it's 21 and over. That means he can't take his kids with him and him and his wife have bad legs so they can't stand the whole time.
3:20 The guy keeps saying he did everything he was supposed to do. He didn't hear himself win though which is the problem. Even if he couldn't hear he should have been able to see that a contest was going on.
3:21 The guy also accuses Adam of guilt-tripping him because he got the only 4 tickets for people who work at the station.
3:22 Steve couldn't help himself, he had to respond to the guy "Here's a response, you seem like an ungrateful ass, SD"
3:28 Steve went to Arlington on Saturday and on his way home he saw a van that had "294 is our A1A" painted on the window along with some other Jimmy Buffett stuff. There must have been a Buffett concert somewhere around here.
3:29 Where to people get that window paint? You see it a lot on minivans and it usually has something to do with soccer or other youth sports.
3:30 There was a woman on hold who said she was sitting where this guy was sitting and she could hear just fine. Someone came up to Steve during the broadcast and told him she couldn't hear the show in a somewhat irritating fashion.
3:31 Then Steve had Mary, Tina and Stephanie go out into the crowd and they said they could hear the show just fine. These people must have just used the broadcast as an excuse to talk to all their friends who worked there.
3:32 Steve likes to think of Buzz reporting from the Jimmy Buffett concert, hopefully he'll do that. "This is Buzz Kilman, reporting from the lush Kettle Moraine of Alpine Valley..." Buzz has a lot of experience in concert reporting, his first ever was a Peter Frampton show.
3:33 Caller Laura has some info about that car paint. Her daughter was a cheerleader for a traveling football team and you can get that stuff any any card or party store. It comes in a giant marker with a spongy top in different colors.
3:34 Caller Steven was at the show on Saturday night and it was great. He's also been on one of those party decks and it's a great set-up.
3:35 If this other guy doesn't want his tickets then Steve and Buzz can take them and do tandem reporting.
3:36 Buffett shows are always a good time but it's mostly old people, at least in the really good seats.
3:37 The van Steve saw was full of younger girls which would explain the excellent decorating. They're probably used to it from all the homecomings and proms.
3:38 So as it turns out that deck area is pretty cool. Steve's done with it though, even if the other guy isn't.
3:39 Caller Dave thinks Steve might have seen people going to the a twirling championship in South Bend. There are a ton of baton twirlers in the Chicago area.
3:40 That sounds like a good place for Chris Hanson and the To Catch a Predator team to set-up shop.
3:41 Steve likes a good twirler as long as she's in college.
3:48 On the phone is Chuck Garfein from Comcast Sportsnet. The Sox are in last place right now. Buzz is wondering how that happens. If you lose enough games you'll end up in last place.
3:49 Steve will have to boycott the White Sox for the time being. He has a lot of games left to go to also. He gave his tickets for tonight to Tina and Stephanie and told them to get ready to go to more games.
3:50 Steve doesn't want to talk about the White Sox today. He realizes that Chuck still has to do post-game but it's not happening.
3:51 So how about those Cubbies? They did lose two of three over the weekend and dropped down a game against the Brewers.
3:52 If the Cubs keep doing well and make the playoffs then it'll be exciting for the fans. That's when Steve and Buzz will figure out what tickets they have to buy to seat Steve Bartman close to the field.
3:53 Chuck has tried in the past to contact Bartman but was never able to. It wasn't even his fault but he took on all the ire. It was really Buzz's friend's fault but Bartman just sat there taking it. Buzz's friend has all but admitted it was him.
3:54 Michael Barrett lost it yesterday in a game and got kicked out by the ump. He wasn't happy with the balls and strikes that were being called.
3:55 How about that guy who got killed by a line drive yesterday? Are they gonna have footage of that on Comcast?
3:56 The closest thing Chuck has to anything like that is when his dad was filming him during a baseball game. While Chuck was up to bat he fouled a ball off and you can see it through the lens coming towards him. Luckily Chuck didn't have that much power in his youth.
3:57 Chuck also remembers going to a Sox game as a kid and sitting along the third base line. What is this, Wonder Years with Chuck Garfein? Steve feels like he should cue up some Joe Cocker music.
3:58 As Chuck was sitting down a foul ball went right over his head. The guy behind him tried to catch it and broke three fingers. Any time you're sitting that close to the field you need to flash some leather.
3:59 The big story today is the referee involved in betting on games and point shaving. He could also be involved with the mob and might name other officials and players.
4:00 If Chuck is going to talk about the White Sox tonight he should preface it with "the last place". They need to be kicked when they're down because they don't seem to care any more.
4:01 If the Sox sweep the five games from the Tigers Steve will be back on board with the team. They have to show him something because he doesn't have time to watch losing baseball.
4:02 A few times over the weekend Steve tried to watch the game but ended up turning it off. Then someone told him they should just watch the Cubs lose. They have no right to say that. Steve prefers the silence anyway.
4:11 Steve has a pair of one day passes for Sunday at Lollapalooza. That's the big day with Pearl Jam and Modest Mouse.
4:12 Lollapalooza is coming up, it's a week from this Sunday. Will Buzz be reporting from there as well?
4:13 Be the 1,059th texter to 41059 with the word mouse to win the tickets. Texter is really hard to say.

4:15 Headlines with Buzz
4:16 President Bush had benign polyps removed from his colon on Saturday. And they all looked like Dick Cheney.
4:17 During Bush's colonoscopy on Saturday Dick Cheney was in charge. How is that different than any other day?
4:18 PETA is finally making their voice heard in the Michael Vick/dogfighting case. Surprisingly, they're against dogfighting. PETA protested outside the Atlanta Falcons training facility, which seems like a waste of time.
4:19 Chuck Garfein seemed to think that it was inappropriate that Steve wanted to see the video of that guy from the minor league baseball games. There are always a lot of horrific videos in sports. Buzz remembers seeing the Joe Theisman video constantly.
4:21 A sign at a recently Mitt Romney that read "Say No to Osama, Obama and Chelsea's Mama" has drawn criticism from Democrats. Romney has yet to disavow it.
4:26 That sign at the Romney rally doesn't seem that bad. People are saying it's not very presidential. People seem smart enough to know that Barack Obama is not Osama bin Laden.
4:27 The genius of the Republicans is that they won't say anything about it until the damage is already done. The Democrats just don't get how to play the game.
4:28 John Kerry was in Vietnam but ended up looking like a bigger chicken than George Bush who got out of it by joining the National Guard.
4:29 Steve wanted to play a JImmy Buffett song since he was in town over the weekend. Also he talked about the listener who said he won Buffett tickets at he Blarney Island broadcast but didn't hear his name called.
4:30 Steve thought he did a good job of summarizing that guy's emails but he can't get back into it right now. It's worth downloading the podcast or reading the show log though to find out what happened.
4:31 Song: Take Another Road, Jimmy Buffett
4:34 That's Steve's favorite Jimmy Buffett song. He likes pretty much all of them although sometimes he doesn't like the ragtime stuff depending on his mood.
4:35 Steve's second favorite Jimmy Buffett song would probably be Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season and then One Particular Harbor.
4:39 Steve calls down to the news room. He's also going to bring Pete in on the John From Cincinnati conversation.
4:40 Pete is still watching the show but it seems like he takes a backseat in these conversations. Is he Jim's bitch or something? He just clams up but Buzz does the same thing.
4:41 Steve doesn't know how many episodes are left of John From Cincinnati, he can't keep track of it.
4:42 Steve is very surprised that HBO hasn't contacted him about having someone from the show call in.
4:43 Steve's thinking of initiating contact with HBO. We do a lot of stuff with HBO and usually when Steve starts talking about something he has stuff to give away.
4:44 It doesn't seem like HBO is doing a lot of promote this show. A lot of people watched it and said they didn't get it and that was it. You don't have to get something to watch it do you?
4:45 If you liked Deadwood you should like this show. It's the same guy who created it and a lot of the same actors too.
4:46 David Milch was on Craig Ferguson this week and he said he doesn't know what it's about but Jim doesn't care about that either. Why do we need to know what it's about?
4:47 The Lost guys don't know what that show is about either and people still watch that.
4:48 Who's got a girl in his office? There's a loud sales girl walking by the news room. Instead of going to get the Chinese food that's in there they should calling HBO.
4:49 They need to turn that kitchen into something useful like a prison. Pete's very excited about the brand new water cooler in the kitchen.
4:50 To most people a new water cooler wouldn't be exciting but not the way Pete tells it. What the hell is he talking about?
4:51 Steve always sees Pete going down to the kitchen with a water bottle but he never knew what he was doing. How is the water down there?
4:52 Pete and Jim both like it although it's a little warm. Tina told Jim that was OK because lukewarm water works better in your body. She would know, she's a water expert. A few years ago at a Super Bowl party she told Steve that Dasani was filtered sewer water.
4:53 Caller Frank has some bad news for Steve. Ed O'Neill was on Stan and Terry's show last week. What the hell?! Who's running this place? Who let's that happen? Why is Steve going in there to help those two idiots do a better show and they're taking a guest he'd want to talk to?
4:54 That damn Bonnie is the biggest star f'er of all time. That whole show is just celebrity interviews. Now Steve is irritated. All he got from Bonnie was an email saying he could interview Fred Savage who just directed the Daddy Day Care sequel.
4:55 Bonnie's email also said that Fred Savage was a big fan of Steve's which is just a fake PR line. Fred moved away from here when he was 4 years old.
4:56 Jeff Garlin was in the original Daddy Day Care and Steve didn't watch that one, he's not going to watch the sequel.
4:57 Steve is very upset by this, it's not supposed to happen. When it's one of the 10 people on the planet Steve wants to talk to, he'd appreciate a heads-up a least.
4:58 There are people here who are supposed to be paying attention to stuff like this. There's a program director and his little assistant.
4:59 Caller Mike doesn't want to throw more gasoline on the fire but he also heard the Ed O'Neill interview. They talked mostly about Married...with Children but also mentioned how he was up for the role of Sam Malone on Cheers and the dad on Family Ties.
5:00 Then they started talking about Michael Gross and what a good actor he was. All Ed O'Neill wants to do is talk about John From Cincinnati, he can't get away from Married...with Children fast enough.
5:01 Mike got the impression that Stan and Terry had never seen John From Cincinnati. Steve could have done an entire interview about John From Cincinnati.
5:02 So was it a good interview or a bad interview? Mike thought Ed O'Neill had a good time but he didn't get to talk about his new show. So it wasn't really a good interview for Ed.
5:03 Mike's just trying to look out for Stan and Terry but no one's trying to look out for Steve. They should change this station's name to the Star F'er.
5:08 Bonnie from Stan and Terry's show called in and said that the Ed O'Neill was one of those pre-taped satellite things.
5:09 Steve wouldn't have come in early to tape that interview but he would have called someone at HBO to get Ed to call in during the show. Doesn't HBO have an office in Chicago any more? Is Steve's mic on?
5:10 It's time for the Five O'Clock Taco Bell. It couldn't happen at a better time. This food is going to hit rock bottom.
5:11 Steve just wants to say this about John From Cincinnati. It's the best TV show ever. You're not supposed to get it, it's just good.
5:12 It's on HBO a ton and it's on Comcast On Demand too. It was created by David Milch and Kem Nunn. Milch created Deadwood and Kem Nunn wrote some of the episodes.
5:13 Steve doesn't really need to talk to someone from John From Cincinnati to say that. Ed O'Neill will probably win an Emmy for his work on the show, especially last night.
5:14 This burrito is kicking Steve's you-know-what. He's taking giant Buzz Kilman-size bites. He doesn't even know what he's supposed to do next. He might play the song from John From Cincinnati.
5:15 Song: Johnny Appleseed, Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros
5:19 John From Cincinnati is on again tonight but it's also free on Comcast On Demand.
5:20 There's no way you can watch that opening credit sequence with that song and the sweet 60's surfing footage and not want to watch the rest of the show.
5:21 If you don't want to watch the show that's fine but you're missing the best show on TV. Steve's not saying this to make Buzz feel guilty either. It's probably better that Buzz isn't watching it because they'd talk about it all day.
5:22 Plus talking to Pete and Jim doesn't take that long because they don't say much and mostly just giggle and talk about drinking water. If Buzz watched it he and Steve would get into some existential conversation and listeners would start complaining.
5:23 Buzz can't wait for Stan and Terry to come in with an excuse for Steve. He doesn't think they will though because they don't really listen to the show.
5:24 Steve doesn't think Stan listens because he got an email from him yesterday about a listener who called him Tan twice in an email. Stan seemed to take offense to it and thought the guy was a racist but Steve told him that Buzz always calls them Tan and Sterry.
5:29 Once again the Gilmore Girls sums up what Steve is thinking. How many episodes of that show were there? It seems like once a day there's a drop from the Gilmore Girls.
5:30 Not that Steve minds though, he gets that Gilmore Girls had a lot of pop culture references. He also gets that he banned John From Cincinnati drops.
5:31 Even though Steve issued that edict it would be OK for Pete to push against it sometimes.
5:32 If there's something that pops out that works, Pete can use it. It is a really complicated show though. The Gilmore Girls is nice and succinct but Steve doesn't feel very manly popping in one of those drops.
5:33 There were a few things from last night that Steve thought would work but he didn't write them down. He'll watch it again anyway so he'll take notes.
5:34 Pete had a couple drops that he thought we could use when Bob and Ron come to visit. Steve feels like he's playing some sort of cryptic game with Pete today. Who's going to remember what was on the show in two days when Bob and Ron are here?
5:35 Steve will take some notes and then he and Pete can look over them tomorrow, won't that be exciting? Steve will make Pete hate the show.

5:37 We haven't really heard from David since he came back from Bosnia or Croatia or wherever he was.
5:38 David Hochberg is on the phone. Are Eric and Kathy there? Steve just wanted to make sure David was alright and didn't pick something up in Croatia.
5:39 If David calls too much Steve doesn't like it. He should call after he cheats on Steve though.
5:40 David is doing the live-chat and ads on The Mix as well as ads on The Drive. Now Steve can't listen to The Drive either. Isn't this place enough for David? He should take his money and reinvest it in this station.
5:41 Those stations are owned by the Mormons, they don't even like Jewish people. We love Jewish people here though!
5:42 It seems like David should be reinvesting here but Steve understands he wants to grow his business. Plus he's being consulted by Jeff Schwartz who has a lot of animosity.
5:43 Steve read in Feder's column that Jeff is going to represent Mike North when he renegotiates his contract next year. A lot can happen in a year though.
5:44 Jeff is doing a Fantasy Football league with Mr. Skin that actually sounds pretty good. There's no draft, you just pick whatever players you want, that way you don't get stuck with guys you don't want.
5:45 Steve loves Jeff and he likes David Hochberg. Its like loving David would be a bad idea, like he'd make you do things you don't want to do like that preacher in Tennessee who's wife killed him.
5:46 It's funny that Eric and Kathy had to cover that they were going to Croatia by saying they were driving around the country in an RV. Apparently Croatia wasn't very relatable.
5:50 Caller Brian wanted to let Steve know that there were 150 episodes of Gilmore Girls.
5:51 Brian has been listening since the WDAI days. That's a lot more than 150 episodes.
5:52 Steve was at Arlington on Saturday but he didn't not win much money. He made a lot of exotic bets but didn't win on any of them.
5:53 Not doing a show there really freed up Steve's mind to think about the bets but the time between races seemed longer.
5:54 Live read: Gierczyk Properties
5:55 Steve got an email from a listener who went up to New Buffalo but had trouble finding the Gierczyk development. Steve forwarded it on to Jim Gierczyk but now he feels bad about doing that.
5:56 First of all it's impossible to not find their developments in New Buffalo, they're everywhere. Then the guy emailed Steve back and said "well, hopefully they call me back and tell me how to get to their development."
6:00 Is Buzz ready for some sports? Of course he is, he always says he can't get enough sports.
6:01 The last place White Sox open a 5- game series with the Tigers at U.S. Cellular tonight. Jim Thome says this season has been very frustrating. Really?
6:02 Lou Piniella was very happy with the Cubs 7-3 home stand even though they lost the last two games.
6:03 Commissioner Bud Selig will not be in attendance at Giants games this week as Barry Bonds is two home runs away from tying Hank Aaron's record.
6:04 Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich was partying in Vegas with Kobe Bryant over the weekend. Once again what happens in Vegas is not staying in Vegas.
6:05 In other Vegas news Bulls first-round draft pick Joakim Noah was at Chris Weber's charity event over the weekend as well. How do you say Joakim Noah's name? Can't he just say it like Joaquin or something? Or how about Joe?

6:13 News with Buzz
6:14 U.S. Capitol police arrested Cindy Sheehan and other protestors after they refused to leave the office of Representative John Conyers until he enacted impeachment proceedings against President Bush.
6:15 Do these people know that it takes about 2 years to impeach someone? And if Bush is impeached, Cheney will become president.
6:16 Tonight's presidential debate will find candidates answering video questions posted online. The entire event is being sponsored by YouTube.
6:17 The Atlanta Falcons training facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia was the site of a PETA protest today. Flowery Branch? No wonder that team can't win anything.
6:18 PETA's timing isn't great with this protest because the Falcons haven't even started training yet.
6:19 No matter what Apple says, the new iPhone can be hacked. According to the New York Times, hackers have found a hole in the programming that allows them to make long distance calls on someone else's phone.
6:20 People have been saying a lot of bad things about the iPhone that aren't true. Steve doesn't have anything important to hack from his phone anyway.
6:21 Steve assumes it gets hacked if you're hooked up to a WiFi but how is that going to work? What are the odds that Steve's going to be in a Starbuck's long enough when a hacker happens to be there. All he's going to get is Drew Hayes' home and cell number.
6:22 Caller Bill read online that there's a master password for every iPhone out there that gives hackers access to the phone. They hack in by using cell towers. So it's like cloning.
6:23 Steve has something from Mark Czerniec talking about WiFi connections. Bill is qualifying everything he says and Steve is getting a headache trying to figure all this out.
6:24 It seems like the WiFi is the most vulnerable point of access to the iPhone though. Every time you come into a WiFi area the phone asks if you want to connect.
6:25 Does Steve want to get involved in all of this? Maybe Mark could call in because he's professional make senser.
6:26 Ed Silha is actually here. He sent Mark the New York Times article this morning. Basically it's something over WiFi.
6:27 Mark Czerniec is on the phone. He got the article from Ed this morning but then decided not to put it on his page because he didn't think Steve would want to get into this rat's nest. What are the odds that Buzz would actually do this story during the news?
6:28 The iPhone is a computer which means someone can hack in and put some malicious code in there. Even when Steve is driving down the street the phone asks him if he wants to join a network. He's driving!
6:29 Mark has heard that even some of the commercial WiFi networks can't guarantee safety. Ed doesn't recommend doing anything too personal when you're on a Wifi, like banking.
6:30 Steve only looks at porn and writes poetry when he's on a WiFi. For some reason the porn is very inspirational.
6:31 Steve's been doing some research about the iPhone for an article he's writing. He's tried not to do too much research because it won't be funny but he's worried he might have crossed that line.
6:32 Steve did find something over the weekend that said 1 in 3 Americans wants an iPhone. Buzz saw one over the weekend and even though he doesn't use his cellphone that often, he'd want it for all that other stuff.
6:33 Steve doesn't call that many people either but it's still cool to have an iPhone. Hopefully no one hacks his phone but all they'd find was Drew Hayes phone number. They could send him a bunch of pizzas or something.
6:39 Steve likes his iPhone and it seems like most of the bad stuff people are saying about it isn't true. Sometimes people just like to bad rap new stuff.
6:40 Buzz's guitar player John Spiegel has one and he was putting it through the motions on Saturday. Steve says he doesn't know how to use it but he does.
6:41 Matt Dahl has an iPhone but this is his second one. The first one had to be replaced when the screen cracked shortly after he got it.
6:42 Matt Dahl was outraged that the screen broke so quickly but then it came out that he had been at Diamonds with Brendan. He got a few lap dances with the iPhone in his pocket.
6:43 Once Steve heard about that he figured out that the screen cracked after some hardcore thrusting from the stripper. Matt still refused to admit that's what happened until after the phone was replaced.
6:44 Brendan hosted amateur nights at Diamonds so when he walked in he sort of felt like he owned the place. He hooked Matt up with a stripper right away but apparently only saw her from the back.
6:45 According to Matt Dahl she was a dog but, like father like son. Steve always gets stuck with the ugly girls at strip clubs and for some reason he can't say no to them. Apparently Matt has the same problem.
6:46 Matt still won't fully cop to how his phone broke but that's fine. If you're going to have your story stick to it. At least make it more plausible though.
6:47 Matt was really mad about it and blamed Apple for their poor design of the phone. They probably didn't test for strippers.
6:48 Steve has another issue to take up with Matt and Brendan though. He now has anecdotal evidence that they both use and defile the Green Room.
6:49 Steve smells coffee too and he's guessing it was made from the machine in his Green Room. Matt also takes Cokes out of the fridge in there and never replaces them.
6:50 If Buzz is interested, Steve has an extra iPhone available for purchase. When they first came out there was supposed to be a shortage so Steve started hoarding.
6:51 Steve keeps getting text messages from Maui County telling him about road closures and road openings. He subscribed to the alerts while in Maui but now he can't figure out how to unsubscribe.
6:52 Steve's got another Jimmy Buffett song he wants to play, he's in a Jimmy Buffett mood. He's playing shows in the area so he's probably based in Chicago, maybe we could flush him out.
6:53 Song: Everybody's on the Phone, Jimmy Buffett
6:55 Steve forgot that song had profanity in it so he has to stop it. That's probably enough right? We don't need that at the end of the show anyway.
6:56 Jimmy's just trying to keep it real but that's a little too real. He says he doesn't get radio play but Steve would play the s-word out of that one if it didn't have profanity in it.
7:01 Brendan always says hello to Steve like he hasn't seen him all day. Steve really has not seen Matt all day because he was off boating.
7:02 Matt didn't put the new cover on the boat because it didn't seem like it was ready to go.
7:03 Steve got a tip from a listener that there was some conversation on Matt and Brendan's Saturday show about Green Room usage.
7:04 Brendan went into the Green Room to get some CDs because he was worried Matt wasn't going to show up. Turns out he was in the Green Room bathroom doing his business with the door open.
7:05 Steve can tell Brendan right now that is one of Matt's worst habits. It's like some weird fetish he has where he wants people to see him doing that.
7:06 Steve can understand leaving the door open if you have to run in because of a dinner miscarriage but Matt does it all the time.
7:07 Steve also has to add that he was in the bathroom today cleaning up after Matt. There he was standing in his flip-flops like some Guatemalan house keeper.
7:08 If Matt's going to use the bathroom he could at least clean up after himself. Next time lift the toilet seat up! Steve's not sure what Matt did on Friday night but something didn't agree with him.
7:09 At least Pat Dahl's not here any more to drag Matt out on a Friday night. That's the one night he needs to go to sleep early.
7:10 Luckily Brendan makes a loud entrance into the Green Room whistling. It has a creepy, perverted feel to it, like you accidentally clicked on the wrong website. It Matt wants to keep doing it he should get his own bathroom, a camera and a website.
