I am writing this blog on my iPhone after the Bears’ brutal loss to the Titans. I don't know Jeff Fisher, but that moustache of his really started to get on my nerves. It's not really fair to blame a moustache, but I am unable to blame Rex Grossman because it's not his fault that the Bears put him in there. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. By that measure, Lovie Smith, Jerry Angelo, and Bears management are insane. At least we'll get a good "Angelo's Ashes" out of it at 8:30 on Friday morning. In the meantime, we will try and understand the Bears, Rex Grossman's inability to effectively play NFL football and the lack of a pass rush Monday morning at 7:30.
I am heading over to the Blackhawks game after the Bears traffic dies down a little bit. I am meeting Mr. Skin over there. We are old friends (I knew him before he had an adult entertainment empire) so that will be fun. It's always more fun to hit that second sporting event if the first one goes well. Sadly, I won't have that luxury today. I didn't eat too much at the Bears game, and I worked out this morning, so technically, I have the caloric ability to entertain a bratwurst. I have to admit that I kind of lost my appetite after that Bears game (and a final heaping bowl of postgame Bears chili). Sometimes that chili ends up being a big mistake by the time I get to the Hawks game.
This weekend went by really fast for some reason, and although I like sleeping in on my days off, I am looking forward to getting back on the air Monday morning. We've got plenty to talk about. 11/10 is the anniversary of the sinking of the good old Edmund Fitzgerald. Buzz and I will be performing the Gordon Lightfoot classic if the mood is right. We will also perform several renditions of the Blues News to kick off each newscast on Monday. I love the Blues News, and I love the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald lyrics. They tell a good story and there's a ton of them. Apparently Gordon had some editing problems. It seems as though the winds of November have come early once again as I glance out over Lake Michigan. Maybe we'll have a fresh disaster other than the Bears to talk about on Monday.
