November 11, 2005

Okay, I think we’re finally back in business with the podcasts. As you know, I was the leader in podcast technology until I learned that I didn’t have the rights to do it last May. I then went to being dead last. We will send you to the WCKG site and you can subscribe to them that way. That will begin early next week. Sorry it took so long, but everything seems worked out and the show is available for streaming, so I guess that’s a happy ending. Usually you have to pay for a happy ending, but not with The Steve Dahl Show.

The annual City of Chicago “Sharing It” Banner Auction is Wednesday, November 16 and Thursday, November 17. Bidding takes place in the lobby of the Daley Center (50 West Washington St.) from noon - 1:30 p.m. on both days. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted (with proper identification). They will be auctioning off the White sox banners that adorned the streets of our fair city during this spectacular 2005 season. They have tons of other cool banners too.

We will have a banner to give away on the air today (Friday) during the show. I think I’d like to take the 25th caller to make it extremely fair to everyone, and let’s do it when you hear Thunderstruck by AC/DC. I can’t hear that song enough, as it turns out. They have big banners and smaller banners to auction off. We are giving away a big one, and it’s in my office right now. It is VERY cool! Thanks to the city for including us in this.

Tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) we are heading down to Los Cabos MX with a planeload of Steve Dahl Show listeners, and at least two qualified pilots. Flight attendants would also be a nice touch. We’ll be at Dreams Los Cabos all next week broadcasting the show. Word is that Sammy Hagar might try and stop by on Monday. Mike Dahl now works for Apple Vacations, and he is in charge of the trip, which makes me both very proud and old. So tune in all next week for some deep dish Chicago-style Cabo Wabo, and check back in at dahl.com for info on the podcasts. Aloha, SD
