As you might have heard me mention on the air on Thursday morning, I have decided to start blogging again (lucky you!). I missed blogging. I thought that Twittering would be an interesting way to get my thoughts out more immediately, but then that’s what the radio is for. Twitting is fun, and I certainly am a twit, but I found the 140-character format somewhat confining. I also began to fixate on making each Twitter exactly 140 characters, which ultimately took more time and was less satisfying than just writing a blog. I will still Twitter, and you can still see them here at dahl.com, but let’s face it, how many times can I Twitter that I’ve eaten too much again at a sporting event?
The show log has gone away for good, I’m afraid. With the new way that they measure radio audiences, putting the show into a daily readable form was not good for business. As always, I encourage you to listen to the podcast, if you can’t listen to he whole show, and soon we will have a condensed 30 to 40 minute podcast to keep you updated on in a more concise way. We actually get ratings credit if you listen to the podcast within 24 hours of the airing of the original show. Right now, we need all of the ratings help we can get. The new system doesn’t seem to measure our audience very accurately. And would it kill Jack to put up a few billboards?
I’ll still send out show reminders via email and the Twitter network, but I’m also going to send out a Thought for the Day (again, lucky you!). Hey, it’s better than having your inbox clogged with penis enlargement ads, right? Do those things really work? I could use a few extra inches myself. So, thanks for asking about the blog (that made me feel good about my writing) and thanks for your continued support of The Steve Dahl Show, dahl.com and all of our advertisers. Seriously, if everybody listening could just convert or bring back one listener, that would make life a whole lot easier for me, and keep me around a little longer.
