It is 5:00 PM on Wednesday, and I am heading out the door to grab some dinner and catch the Blackhawks game tonight. I am writing this after my nap, and although I am not cranky, I am currently having trouble coming up with a compelling idea or ideas for Thursday’s blog. This is only my fourth blog since returning from vacation, and already I have writer’s block. Maybe it should be called blogger’s block. Call it whatever you want, I don’t really feel like I have anything meaningful to contribute here. Of course, that never stopped me before, so I’ll just continue to type, and see where it leads me. Maybe I need to be cranky to write something interesting. I am starting to get cranky now that I’m pressed for time.
I am tempted to write about the female announcer on the Golf Channel who said that the other golfers probably wanted to lynch Tiger Woods in an alley because he’s so good. I don’t know any of the details so I probably shouldn’t. I’m not even sure if she’s on the Golf Channel or the Golf Network, and I don’t feel like Googling it. It seems like it would be more interesting just to turn the TV off than to have a whole channel dedicated to golf. I saw a clip of her comment during Mark Giangreco’s 4:30 sports on Channel 7 and she looked like she didn’t mean anything by it. She probably wasn’t being racist, she just used the wrong word. She just meant that other golfers would want him gone because he’s so good. I bet she gets fired anyway.
Even though I am pretty sure that I hate golf, I might try and take it up this summer anyway. I find myself with a few free hours in the afternoons, and I do love the way golf courses look, especially one that’s right near my house. It would be a shame to mess up the perfect tranquility of a perfectly good looking golf course with the anxiety of my bad golf game, but then maybe with a few lessons I could learn to enjoy the game more. The course by me is a country club that is stuffy and wouldn’t want me to join it anyway, so maybe its best just to stick to my napping. Then again, I know a bunch of people who they did let join that particular club, and they are in many cases less desirable than I am. Especially now that I no longer suffer from blogger’s block.
