If you missed it this morning, do yourself a favor and check out the podcast of the best “Meattalk” ever. Chef Hans was en fuego Wednesday morning. We didn’t talk about meat, but you can’t always talk about meat, you know? Actually, we did talk a little prime rib, so I guess technically it was a legitimate “Meattalk” segment. I love Chef Hans, and if you haven’t understood why in the past (and sometimes Chef is hard to understand), today’s M will set you straight. I mean the guy gave his Swiss Army Knife to John Candy. I’m hoping to run into Hans at the Blackhawks game tonight. If I do, I’ll buy him a bottle of wine. Listen to the podcast and you will understand.
I’m taking Ed (party of one) Silha to the game tonight. We’re going to pregame it in the Kettle One Club, and then take in the game from my usual seats. I have not missed a Blackhawks home game since I bought my tickets back in November. It is so much fun, and a great reason to get out of the house for a few hours a couple times a week. It’s funny, if I were getting off at 7:00 PM, a 7:30 PM game would be something that I would dread. Getting off at 10:00 AM really changed my perspective on time management. Plus, it got me back into hockey, which is nice. Now the Hawks just have to get healthy and get back to winning some games.
I have a piece in Thursday’s Tribune about diet and energy supplements in the At Play section. If you get a chance, try and check it out. You can access the article online from the home page of dahl.com, but it would be nice if you would buy a paper, and read it too. I keep imagining that someone will notice the spike in sales on the days that I’m in the paper, but so far, that’s just in my imagination, I fear. Maybe you should not only buy one, but also read it on line to cover all of my bets. I have been writing for the Tribune for over two years now. Perhaps that’s why they had to sell it. Terry Armour was the guy who got the paper to bring me on board. Terry was the man. I miss him a lot already.
