PBCIt’s Wednesday afternoon, and this is one of those days when I really don’t have anything to blog about, so I just figured that I’d start writing and see what happens. At 7:30 tonight I will be dropping the ceremonial first puck at the Blackhawks game. It’s Radio Icon Night and I guess I am a radio icon (aw shucks!). I’m hoping that doesn’t mean that I’ll have a camera on me during the game since that would definitely cut into my bratwurst eating. A small Coke and a grilled bratwurst with sauerkraut is my dinner of choice at Blackhawks games. Sometimes I have dinner in the restaurant there and I go for the Caesar salad and the Angus burger.

Ed FarmerI’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that the State of Illinois gave $1,000,000 to the wrong people at the Pilgrim Baptist Church. They gave it to a private school that was renting space from the church in their administration building and not the actual church itself. I’m sure that all of the bitching about the separation of church and state caused Blagojevich’s people to double-clutch and give it to the school, but the school isn’t part of the church. The craziest part of the whole thing is that they’re not going to make the school give it back. If the State of Illinois actually gave me $1,000,000, you can bet your ass they’d want it back.

Still no word from Ed Farmer on the Steve Stone partnering that occurred on Tuesday. I assume Ed will be fine with it, as he’s pretty easy-going. You know how much I like Ed, and I like Steve Stone a lot too. The White Sox could have used some of Stone Pony’s expert analysis last year. Maybe a few of the comments would have actually made their way to the players. It couldn’t have hurt. Ed is a little less controversial on air, so it will be interesting to see how the two balance each other out and complement each other as well. My money is on them becoming one of the best radio play-by-play teams in the history of the White Sox.
