Joe WalshIt must be spring because the dudes are here to turn on my sprinkler system. I love my sprinkler system, and on paper it works like a charm. There is still some watering that goes on because someone insists on having pots of flowers in places where the damned sprinklers won’t reach. Then she expects me to water them when she’s out of town. “That’s why we have a sprinkler system!” I always say, but I am talking to myself. It’s still a lot easier than doing it all by hand. Sprinkler systems don’t cost that much and they are really fun to program. You can even put one in yourself. They have them at Home Depot. As you can well imagine, I did not install my own.

I was really nice to hear from my friend, Joe Walsh on Wednesday morning. He was in Holland at the Hague and I think he was seven hours ahead of us, so it was an opportunity to call into the morning show. Even though Joe doesn’t drink or get high anymore, I think he is still not a morning person. Who wants a rock star that is a morning person? Stoned or Olsensober, rock stars need to be night people. Joe said that Eagles (or do you say The Eagles?) are coming to Chicago sometime in late September. He told me the date, but you’d have to check the show log or podcast for complete details. See what I did there? I got you to check out the show log and/or the podcast.

I am watching the Cubs game and trying to drift off into a nap before heading back downtown Wednesday night to take in the Blackhawks game. G-reg (Bears tight end Greg Olsen) was in to do the seventh-inning stretch. He did a fine job as far as football players singing “Take” goes. He only muffed the words once. I imagine he’ll encounter more muffs than that in the bleachers. What must it be like to be Greg Olsen after the Cubs game at the Cubby Bear or Yak-Zies? It must be pretty awesome in the ladies department, but pretty irritating in the drunk dudes hassling you department. Sadly, I don’t have either of those happening for me these days. I’m just napping and sprinkling.
