Friday I will be at Woodfield Nissan from noon to 2:00 p.m. This might be another thing that I like about mornings. I can do a show, make a personal appearance at lunchtime, and still be home for a late afternoon nap. I have never done a personal appearance with the folks at JACK FM (the Dahlfins shows were technically concerts, and we only did one with JACK), but they have a “Street Crew” and they seem to know what they’re doing. The people at Woodfield Nissan are enthusiastic supporters of The Steve Dahl Show, and I’m looking forward to meeting all of them and all of you. See you tomorrow, and be ready to buy a car. I’m very persuasive.

I feel that “Donutgate” is behind us and Brendan’s R. Kelly press credentials are safe. Buzz and I got a call from Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart on Thursday, and he assured us that everything was A-OK at 26th and California. He has a cell with a view called “The Steve Dahl Suite” and a big stack of bologna sandwiches ready to go if Brendan acts up again. The deputies seem to be a little wound up down at the courthouse, and are intent on making sure that the R. Kelly trial doesn’t end up a fiasco like the Michael Jackson trial. There hasn’t even been that much action at the Kelly trial since last Friday. Maybe things will pick up next week.

I think that the R. Kelly trial doesn’t appeal to us in the same way because there’s an actual video of somebody doing something to an actual girl, not just allegations. Michael Jackson was/is a weirdo, but the kid making the allegations was dropped off at the Neverland Ranch by his mom. She seemed intent on making some cash off of MJ, and the kid’s story was weak. There was no tape, and basically just some light fondling and some “Jesus Juice” talk. I don’t think that society is as freaked out by sexual stuff happening to young boys. We are more protective of our young girls. It’s a double standard, yet somehow chivalrous. Plus, urine isn’t exactly “Jesus Juice.” Know what I mean?
