Brendan will be back on the R. Kelly beat on Tuesday morning. He will be stationed out in front of the courthouse at the break of dawn. Not that much is happening at 26th and California at that hour, but we are on the air and Brendan has reports to file. So, please join us Tuesday beginning at 5:30 a.m. for our gavel-to-gavel coverage of “Trapped in the courtroom”. I personally can’t wait for the trial to begin. Even the jury selection was really interesting and funny. I hope that one juror aced her college exam Monday since she probably won’t be available for summer school.

Today on the ABC 7 News at 6PM they showed people taking their bikes onto the train. That looked like fun. I wouldn’t mind riding my bike to the train station, putting it on the Burlington, and then riding it to the Prudential Plaza once I get to Union Station. Lucky for me, there isn’t a train that gets me downtown before 5:30 a.m., so I can say whatever I want about being green, taking the train and riding a bike, and I don’t have to back it up. What we need to do if we want to get the cost of gasoline down is get the Chinese and the people in India to start riding their bikes more. Their demand is messing up our supply. I’m not riding a bike until they do.

I am on a mission to get all of the neighborhood dogs to like me. I have not resorted to giving them treats because certain emailers to steve@dahl.com have convinced me that some dogs might be allergic to certain treats. I can’t imagine a dog with a gluten intolerance or peanut allergy, but I don’t really want to get busted for killing a dog that I was trying to be nice to. If some dogs have “issues,” I would imagine that they have gotten them from their neurotic owners. Again, I am not willing to put my money where their mouths are. In fact, all of the neighborhood dogs have responded well to my approaching them and petting them, except one. His owners hate me too. See, it’s the dog owners who are the troublemakers.
