At one point on Thursday, I had four articles up on the Tribune Web site, and several of them were linked to from this site. Just for the record, the two that I would like you to read are the one about emoticons and the one about “The Cell”. It would also be fine with me if you take the time to email them to someone else (presuming that you like them). I like having one of the most emailed stories on any given day. What can I say? It helps to pass the time. The article about “The Cell” was written by Matthew Lynch who I have known since he was 5 years old. His parents live across the street.
I just had The Little Guys install a new DirecTV HD antenna and receiver at my house on Thursday, and I’m VERY excited to explore it this weekend. I seem to have several HD porn channels. Not that I would watch them or anything, I’m just saying that I have them. The funniest thing so far is how the titles show up when I’m searching for other shows. I was looking for My Name is Earl to get a season pass for it, and I came across My First Sunrise Bang. Now that’s an interesting name for a morning show. Truth be told, I’m always afraid to watch porn. It’s always either intimidating or just plain frustrating.
I am also hoping to get to the theater to see Iron Man this weekend. I am really not that familiar with Iron Man in the Marvel Comics sense, but I’ve seen the trailer and it looks pretty darned entertaining. I am a big Robert Downey Jr. fan. I used to hate him when he was the smart-ass kid on SNL, but I like the way he’s overcome his personal demons and has somehow made his way back to the top. It reminds me of someone else’s story, but I can’t quite place it. This is not RDJ’s first superhero role. I recall that once Robert was arrested in Palm Springs dressed as Wonder Woman and holding a bag of blow. Been there, done that.
