I believe Cedric Benson when he says he didn’t resist arrest down in Austin on Saturday night. In the three years that he has been with the Bears, I have never seen Cedric put up much of a fight. He claims that the police down there target him whenever he takes his boat out, and he might be right about that. I read that he had 15 people on his 30-foot boat. I have a 26-foot boat and I would be hard-pressed to get 10 people on it. Maybe having that many people on a boat just attracts a lot of attention. I will have to try and cram a few people on my boat his summer and see what happens.

For the first time in several years we didn’t broadcast from Arlington Park for Opening Day. We are planning a broadcast later in the summer, so we’ll see what happens with that. I didn’t see the Kentucky Derby on Saturday either, but I know that a horse had to be put down right on the track. We didn’t have insurance on Aloha Friday when that happened to him. I would imagine that most of the Kentucky Derby horses are insured. I sure don’t miss being a horse owner. Even if they don’t win, they still eat, and they expect to eat every day. If you don’t feed them, you end up on Animal Cops on Animal Planet.

Buzz Kilman will perform his naked Mexican Hat Dance with Ben Gay, and we have a few other things planned too. Cinco de Mayo is all about drinking, and I have always been fond of calling it ‘Stinko de Mayo,” since most people get stinking drunk. Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day. It commemorates an ill-equipped Mexican army beating the French in the Battle of Puebla.  They were French. How hard could that have been? I was thinking that I might go on a taco crawl and try and hit every Taco Bell in the western suburbs. I love tacos!
