Jesus! All I’ve been doing this weekend is watching sports. I watched the NFL draft Saturday (all day), then the Sox game. Sunday I watched the draft again until the Sox game, and then the Bulls first Playoff game in what, 7 years? And you know what? I loved every minute of it. Well, most of it. I’m a little concerned about that guy that the Bears drafted Cedric Benson, who started crying when he was being interviewed by Suzie Kolber.

I mean I don’t mean to go Jay Mariotti on everybody’s ass, but I kind of like that Mike Williams that the Lions got, but we’ll see. The funniest thing about the draft is that the only thing that you can count on is a bunch of knuckleheads who know less Steve Pitchthan you do will show up in Urlacher (insert your local team icon here) jerseys and cheer for all of the wrong decisions. I mean, come on, even the professionals know it’s all a 50/50 proposition or less.

The White sox are off to their best start EVER. That’s the best start in 105 years. Maybe they might get a little love, finally. They’ve even got a fast white guy, Scott Podsednik, who might even be Polish or something. He’s certainly polished.

I’m even thinking about scoring some tickets to the Bulls game on Wednesday night, since Tom Doer said that they’re still available. How can that be? He had Scotty on with Red and himself on Sunday and I thought Le Pip did a great job providing some color. He also called the game well. Comcast Sports Net needs to work out some audio issues, however. It sucked for most of the game on my DirecTV system

As you read this, my swimming pool is being filled by both my front yard hose and my backyard hose. Pool filling is not glamorous, but effective. It seems like it should look cooler since the damned thing cost so much money, but there you go, you just fill it with the hose, like a big giant expensive and chlorinated bucket. Once it’s up and running, I may watch most of my sporting events from the hot tub. Although it’s hard to hear what’s happening over the bubbles, which is perfect for me, so I can practice my play by play. Hey, you never know.
