I would just like to say that as a person in show business, I am totally ashamed that I don’t have a “log cabin” room in my basement like R. Kelly did. In hindsight (hindsight-- get it?) I bet he wishes he didn’t have one either. On the other hand, I do have a basketball court. Okay, I don’t really have a basketball court either, but I do have a Nintendo Wii game in my basement. I guess R. Kelly allegedly had a wee game of his own too. I also don’t have a mural that depicts me playing any sport whatsoever with the Tasmanian Devil or any of the Warner Brothers characters. I did go bowling with a couple of the Warner Brothers characters from Great America once, but that was after hours.
I am curious to find out whether or not Brendan made it into the courtroom on Monday. He might have already spilled the beans on the Matt Dahl Show today at mattdahl.com. I didn’t get a chance to listen to Monday’s show, but you can download the podcast if you want, and you’ll be one up on me (at least). If I were the prosecution in the R. Kelly case, I would try and find some people to corroborate the 3–way girl’s contention that R. totes a duffle bag around with him that contains all of his homemade porn. Find the duffle bag and get a conviction. I bet he didn’t destroy the tapes. I don’t make or collect porn, but I bet it would be a hard choice to erase anything in your collection.
A few years ago, I had the chance to interview Bo Diddley, and if things were archived properly, we should have some of that for you on Tuesday. I don’t recall all of the details, but I believe we had a nice chat and Bo played a few tunes as well. I don’t think that I jammed with him. But, as I like to do with Brendan, I’ll just wait and see what Pete has for me on Tuesday morning. If Pete has the Bo Diddley interview, that will be great. If he doesn’t have the Bo Diddley interview, that’s okay too. Sometimes that even works out better for me. I don’t have to hear myself, and I can also give Pete and my former “archivist” a hard time. It’s a win-win.
