After The Steve Dahl Show on JACK FM on Friday, I am heading over to Smith and Wollensky to be on WSCR. No, they’re not auditioning me for mornings; I don’t like talking to jocks enough to have a full-blown sports radio morning show. Actually, I will be talking to jocks, but they will be radio jocks (and one newsman). I’ll be taking part in a round table discussion on The Dan Bernstein Show (it might be Boers and Bernstein but only Bernstein is going to be there). It probably won’t be a round table either, since there will be an audience there and it would be rude for some of us to have our backs to them.
The show starts at 11:00 a.m. and it will feature Pat Cassidy from WBBM AM, Eddie and Jobo from WBBM FM, Ramblin’ Ray Stevens from US99, Lin Bremer (The Mayor Of Belmont Avenue) from WXRT, and of course the lovely and talented me from JACK FM. The nature of the discussion centers on the relationship between sports and radio. I guess I’ll have to ponder that a little bit before I get to S&W on Friday. Mostly, I’ve been pondering what I’m going to have for lunch. I think I’m going to go with the burger. I guess I should wait until after the show for that. I hope we at least get some appetizers.
I also hope that Chef Hans is planning on making an appearance on The Score (670) round table broadcast on Friday too. I know, of course, that he’s based out of Smith And Wollensky, but I’d like to see him make it out of the kitchen and onto the air too. I’m pretty sure he will. Chef Hans is not shy when it comes to sitting down and shpeakink into the microphone. I’m going to see if I can get him to say that I am addressing the sports radio audience in a condescending way and that he wants to cut my balls off. Of course, he could really do that if he wanted to. He, unlike Jesse Jackson, has both the know-how and the knives.
