Armed with a ticket for today’s game, Brendan is more than ready for Cubs playoff baseball. Dag’s passive/aggressive pouting has resulted in an invitation to an event in Park Ridge, but he unfortunately cannot attend. Steve outlines the respective roles of his two feuding robots.

The Dahl boys organized a flawless surprise party for Janet, with Steve facilitating her arrival. His dry shave didn’t give it away.. Brendan is feeling “Cubs” after they clinched home field advantage in the playoffs. A visit to his old high school delivers an epiphany to Dag. Tom Thayer breaks down the Bears victory, as well as the Las Vegas experience, while putting Brendan on the ropes. Finally, Steve reveals that he has two robots.

Walnetto anyone? Steve encountered a vacuum cleaner in his bedroom. Retracting the power cord proved a mystery. Steve’s maternal grandparents were in the Neptune Society. Steve might not be considered a boomer, according to a new definition. Janet confirms the jubilation she experienced when Steve threw her birthday taco party, but she shoots holes in Steve’s fried chicken claims.

It’s a productive day here in the DahlCast Writers’ Room as we hammer out the pitches for at least two eye-themed Hallmark movies. And, yes, Steve and Janet will kiss in the final scene. Brendan is excited for Spaceballs 2, on the way soon and with Rick Moranis, no less! Dag was ready for his recent trip to England, having long ago mastered the British style of utensil use, among other things. Brendan and Dag have worked over 60 jobs between them, compared to Steve’s single job.

Steve’s back today, and he’s armed with details about his second eye surgery. The differences between the two procedures was notable, but he’s feeling good today and the world appears brighter. Brendan declined waiting in line for the Weiner’s Circle hot dog giveaway. He also reveals an eye problem of his own, which Reddit helped solve. Rosie got a mouthful of Steve’s essence.

Steve showed his kitchen prowess on Janet’s birthday, making tacos and apple crisp for the family. He forgot how much he loves dates too. Dag took a drive to Sycamore to get a dresser, and was rewarded with a nice meal. Brendan’s National Cheeseburger Day sucked. Steve forgot he started the shower, allowing the water to run for an hour. Steve is prohibited from bending over at the waist, eye doctor’s orders. Steve wakes Janet in the middle of the night to administer his drops. Brewers manager Pat Murphy wrote a letter to the team in Bob Uecker’s voice (weird). Janet mourned the death of Robert Redford with her circle of friends.

The numbers are in, and they’re all good. Steve’s PSA test showed the results everyone had hoped for, and a follow up of his eye surgery also yielded positive results. Dag and Brendan are at the helm as Steve undergoes cataract surgery. The weather cooperated for the Sodcast golf outing. A great time was had by all. Dag got razzed by a deep-voiced heckler on the first tee. Dag, Brendan, and Vince caught the Bears game at Cordial Inn in Brookfield, where the search for the driver of a Honda Pilot wafted through the joint much like the aroma of flame-grilled burgers.
